  1. So Eastbourne borrow an Elite League rider for a couple of months. Not what the National Development League is all about is it?
  2. Didn't call Gavan a 'twit' though did you? You called him something else altogether, which is par for the course for you...
  3. That's a Mighty Whooooooooooooooooooooooooosh
  4. Unsurprisingly, they have gone with an AP Media standard web design. Safe and straightforward and at least Andy and his team should be relied on to keep it updated and will respond to comments and criticisms in good time.
  5. This year's British SGP will not be held at the Millennium Stadium, rather the Principality Stadium - which I believe is fairly close by and, the way things are going, I wouldn't hold my breath on the SWC being staged in Manchester - although it may be that it will be the new Grand Opening Meeting there - depending on the delivery and installation of track covers.
  6. Probably be scheduled on the same weekend as Swindon's 2nd Farewell to the Abbey meeting.
  7. Yes at Reserve and Peterborough have, probably, the best Reserve in their side and a very solid top 5, but let's give the boy a chance and wait and see. I thought he was unlucky to lose his place at Plymouth last year and did a solid job at Ipswich. Maybe a good job Lunna isn't still with the Scorps though.
  8. Well, maybe, Rob is a bigger man than most and can see passed past differences.
  9. Good Lad is Ashley and glad to see him signed up and back. From not looking to have a ride in 2016, he is now named as Wolverhampton's Reserve Tier 2 (No. 9?), a Scorpion and at Cradley. Pleased things have turned round for him. Not sure whether Holub has 1 or 2 more meetings before he gets a Match Average (guess it's another 2 as his ride in Heat 3 at the EoES wouldn't count), but pleased the management have acted now with further changes to follow when Holub is off his Assessed 7.00. How different it may have been if Taylor Poole hadn't retired.
  10. I don't think he realises yet that Kildemand was excluded and Dudek was allowed in the re-run. But you couldn't guarantee that riders behind you would run into you as Kildemand did (both NKI and KK avoided Dudek in this instance), so if you did shut off when in front and they avoided you, then you would certainly look a pr1ck - or more of a pr1ck than you already were for shutting off deliberately.
  11. On the Club web-site listed under "Next 5 Home Meetings" is listed 27 Apr Kings Lynn v Poole (EL). This isn't correct is it, as Young Stars are meant to be at home to IoW that night and Poole are at Belle Vue? Stars have only one home meeting scheduled for April don't they now after tonight's postponement?
  12. So is that Mr or Mrs Shale Searcher then? Guess your parents were speedway fans or did you change your name by deed poll? Practice what you preach as the saying goes.
  13. NON - is that French for No? A mark of respect to know the words of another country's National Anthem (I know a few and could sing along to them). Believe Tai knows the words to the Polish National Anthem too, so wouldn't be surprised if you see him singing along to that as well. Would you be up in arms about this too? Then he has gone to the trouble of learning to speak Polish (another sign of his massive professionalism), as it seems that you have with the French language. Very impressive, oui Tai is a professional 21st century sportsman and has made a professional decision to further his ambition to win further World Titles. He was born in Britain, to British parents, therefore he is British and represents the ACU in international events. There is no longer an obligation for an ACU licensed rider to take part in the British Championship. If you believe the British Title meant nothing to him, then witness his disappointment when he failed to previously. The World Title is the pinnacle in his chosen sport. Currently, Tai has achieved more as a Britain in Individual World Championship terms since Peter Craven in 1962. Back to back Titles achieved this year will seal Tai's claim to be the greatest British World Title achiever in history. Holding an affinity to another country does not and will not alter this. His competing in this year's British Title would not be a panacea to the sport's woes in Britain. The issues go far deeper than this and, maybe, his omission from the British Final is another sign of these rather than a reason.
  14. 3 x World Team Cups and 1 x World Pairs, representing his country. (Only Rider to with the 1st and 2nd Division British Riders Titles?) Bringing the Thread back on track, Wonder if Sky will bother to televise this season's British Final now that the main draw-card and Britain's only world class rider is not participating? Only have the BSPA "to blame" for the situation having seemingly overlooked to include the British Semi-Finals in the Fixture List, then scheduling them either side of a SGP and then not offering the reigning World Champion a direct seeding to the Final. If Woffinden wins another couple of World Titles, can see him moving away from speedway into another form of motor sport.
  15. 1. Pedersen 2. Zagar 3. Woffinden 4. Iversen 5. Jonsson 6. Doyle 7. Zmarzlik 8. Hancock 9. Kildemand 10. Janowski 11. Pawlicki 12. Holder 13. Harris 14. Lindback 15. Hampel (unfit)
  16. Glasgow Sheffield Workington Peterborough Somerset Newcastle Redcar Edinburgh Rye House Scunthorpe Berwick Ipswich Plymouth
  17. Looking at the Tigers line-up, wouldn't be surprised if there are a few re-run heats today. If all four riders finish, it could be another draw. If not Scorps by 10+. We could be in for some interesting weather about an hour into the meeting, but fingers crossed and heading off now.
  18. There's nothing quite like a self satisfied, preening 'All The Best Rob' . Along with 'June', Scunthorpe's embarrassing baggage. Rob has been so self satisfied this week, after one result, he must have got through a whole load of tissues in Watford. The draw at the EWR in the return fixture, must have been a real cum down for him. As others have said, what would you expect CL to say? Ipswich 11th and Scunthorpe 1st? And aren't the predictions based on Premier League standings, not League Cup results? Very early days. Lets see what pans out when the League competition starts. Just hope for a safe season for all Riders, no clubs to close and a Product for the fans to enjoy. If only all tracks were like the EWR.
  19. Typically embarrassing, biased opinion from the person who wanted Tungate hung, drawn and quartered after the Witches last visit to the Eddie Wright Raceway. At least they could bring themselves to use the word accidentally (though not spelt correctly) for the Castagna/Davies incident. Surprised you don't want Castagna suspended for the season. Would Alex have done any better than Douglas/Klindt in heat 15? No mention of Castagna packing up in heat 2 which, as Ipswich didn't have to resort to tactical rides, effectively decided the result of the meeting. Ritchings gifting a point to Bailey in heat 8. If Josh Auty is "Mr Entertainer", what the heck is Covatti after that performance? Very enjoyable meeting and well done to both teams. Scorps fortunate to gain a point.....that's speedway! We are fortunate to have a great racetrack and promoter at Scunthorpe. Really pleased to see Ryan Douglas returning so well. Great Lad. Will be interesting to see how good Holub really is after he has gained an Established Match Average. Shame Nicolai can't stay for the season. Looking forward now to the extended value for money fixture next Sunday.
  20. Chris Morton M.B.E. (services to speedway 1992), or M = Mega B = Bell E = Opposite of Start (disservice to speedway 2016)
  21. Not sure of the merits of any of them, but it would be good for Ipswich and their fans to have a rider in a GP this, fairly barren, year. It must hurt a bit to see ex-Ipswich riders like Gollob, Hampel, Andersen & Nicholls competing at the top level, but for various reasons, not representing the club.
