RIP Bob. Did a lot for Swindon,Reading & Newport over the years
-
What I don’t understand is from the aerial view there appears to be loads of open land behind the stadium. Why knock it down and rebuild when you could have put the super market on the land behind ?
-
Where the stadium was is now an industrial estate with a big car sales place (which was Ken Throne). It is right next to the A365.

Sorry about the delay. After some searching I found most of my pre 2003 programs are at my parents’ house. I will try and have a look later this week. I don’t think I have a spare but I will check
-
Hi Andout I am pretty sure there was a program for this meeting because I am sure it was called off just before it was about to start (I was there). And I remember how few supporters turned up (in contrast to other years). I will try and have a check through my programs later

Hindsight is a great thing. Neil been around for a long time as rider/engineer/team manager. At the end off the day it’s down to the riders to ride not the team manager

dident marks awful crash involve a tractor and wont swindon top off the league at the time

not acounding to neil street on sunday he said that gate 4 was set up for the danes and as jason won the meeting there would be no sour grapes

I read it as being that way as well. However I too am confused about the rules of the GDTS from 15m. Some promoters are saying that the reason this ludicrous GD rule was introduced was to ensure that all riders had their 4 allocated rides. This surely cant be the case if you have the GDTS off 15m. Some promoters are saying that the reason this ludicrous GD rule was introduced was to ensure that all riders had their 4 allocated rides. From what i heared tonight from Tim Stone this rule was brought in by the EL to keep one team in the EL!!!. before the agm 3 EL teams whated to leave the EL. after Swindon & Arena said they would move up only one whated to leave(all of this due to costs). By the look off it this was an antemt to cut costs. Which is why the PL Ratified it by the look of it. He wouldent say who that EL team was

Hit the nail on the head there Cyclone about the 5-7 pointers puting there demands up which is way the whole thing is a waste of time. a bit more though put into team sponership ,get more fan in thought the gates etc would be more to the point

I thought the land was classed as sports land and had to used for that purpose

As the decision is being made for no other reason that of so called reducing the costs logic plays no part in the farce of going as low as 40. All the promoters in favour of 40 want is a pool of unemployed riders available to force wages down. Such thinking should have gone out years ago. A 40 point limit will just reduce the quality of the PL and put more cheap wobblers into the league. If their are teams that cant afford to build to 45 in the PL then they should drop to the CL Yep its not going to work never has done never will. the idera that the PL gets nearer the EL will get wiped out by this idear as well Typically Tim Stone seems to be one of the six

Bedwelty is on top of a mourtan to north of blackwood. ive been past once and as far as i can rember there are no houses around. however there been no tracks in the valleys since the 30s and it only 16 to 20 miles from newport but might be all right for CL. if i get a chance i try to get up there on the weekend and have a look
