Wildcards should be scrapped completely. Why should a rider who has ridden in all the qualifiers and come 4th be bypassed by another rider who gets a wildcard pick? I reckon keep the top 8 for GP as now. Have the GP challenge to be contested without current GP riders with top 3 going through. The final slots will be a one off meeting with the remaining 7 GP riders and top qualifiers from GP challenge who did not make top 3. The top 4 will then get the final GP places.

Firstly thanks to Ballinger for running the competition. 15th place is not bad especially considering it was picked out by my 5yr old son. He's gettingready to take his promoters licence now and with Peter Oakes leaving Coventry he's got a job opening there Jacques: See Alec before next seasons GP and he said he'll help you choose you team for you!

I tried sky+ to record the repeats due to having a full listing on days run first time. So far I have not had the speedway on once. Not sure what MotorsTV are doing but usually end up with motox instead. I want to see the meetings but until MotorsTv get their scheduling correct I will be giving it a miss.

I'm not neccessarily looking for the best team by average. The riders available for each team will hopefully include local heroes too. This includes riders like Billy Janniro at Coventry, not the best rider by average but definately a fan favourite. The idea is in the game itself you will have approx 30 riders to choose from per team and choose 10 for your squad. The extra 3 riders are there to cover injuries or to add when wanted.

The forum for 5-1 and the All-Time greats version is now open at http://5-1speedway.easyfreeforum.com/ Please register on the forum and add riders to the All-time greats list for each team. if the team is not on the list then feel free to add it. The more names I can get added on the list the more chance I have of pleasing more people when it gets released. Imagine being able to have your all-time favourite riders all riding on the same team. How about Olsen, Boocock, Knudsen, Jonsson, Hancock and Hamill all riding together? With this game you will be able to do so. If interested the register and show your interest.

Not sure how the All-time greats version will run as yet. Need to come up with a way of runnning a league with quite a few teams. May split them into a few mini leagues (i.e. North and South) but still working this one out.

First version is being worked on at the moment. Had a few hiccups along the way but hopefully that has been sorted. The All-time greats version is being run as a side project so once first version is finished I will be able to put more time into it. The hard part is not going to be getting the rider data but more trying to narrow it down to fit the software

Thanks for the inforamation. Will try and track down the books and speak to Peter Jackson. If all goes well then this will be a separate release from the 5-1 Speedway management game which will contain the best from each team throughout history. Idea is that you have a list of riders per team which you then get to pick your starting 7 and take them up against the best of the rest.

Does anyone have or know where I can get hold of past rider averages? I'm working on an All-Time greats version of my speedway management software and need averages for as many riders as possible and the teams they rode for. Only after riders who rode for teams for at least one whole season so can then narrow this down to the best 30 riders per team. Thanks Karl

It's a possibility but very unlikely. The conference teams would be halved in round one and then they would have to face premier league teams in the next round. If Sittingbourne got through that one to face ANY elite league team I reckon almost all of the fans would go to whatever meeting they had next just to see if they can do it again.
