  1. Why wasnt Laguta in Italy? Has he given up on the GP's? Or couldnt he get a visa into there either?
  2. so remind me, Swedish GP 2012 is in Gothenburg?
  3. With temporary seating it can get to 17,000; enough for British GP2, which is what is being talked about I believe. 17,000 is on a par with some capacities of GP venues.
  4. Of course it doesnt rain all the time in Manchester, there is a roof over centre court at Wimbledon (London), that isnt to keep the sun out. Rains everywhere in Britain a lot, apart from the desert bit you obviously live in
  5. I have to say I didn't rate the hospitality areas of the Millennium, been there for both speedway and rugby, and it isnt great for either. The pits stuff is good if you are a speedway enthusiast, but a lot of money. I think a nice restaurant outside followed by toprated seats is better value.
  6. The track is being designed by Chris Morton, who has a pretty good knowledge of Hyde Road. He wants it to be a similar shape with multiple racing lines, but about 25 yards shorter due to space constraints.
  7. Even as a Belle Vue fan, Cardiff is the place for the GP. Have a second one up in Manchester.
  8. Saw Greg Hancock on saturday, and he introduced himself to me!! What a guy!
  9. well that is your perogative, personally, I think a June Cardiff GP and a second GP at the end of September in Manchester would see 45,000 in Cardiff and 17,000 in Manchester, no bother.
  10. Sounds like Sky thought it was a success then? That is great news if I read you right.
  11. I dont agree, I think a second UK GP would have no effect on Cardiff, as long as they spread them out over the season.
  12. Just spoke to the Park Plaza and they have advised that they have just had communication from the Speedway officials themselves to say that the dates are not confirmed – they may be moving until the end of August, beginning of September.
  13. Crumpie doesnt live in Britain any more, so I wouldnt have thought it was him. Certainly not Greg Hancock, he would have helped you fill the car with petrol.
  14. Great event, I love this weekend. Dont care about the cost, the programme, the singers, I thought the whole thing was fantastically organised, even down to the music they played around the heats (although poor Bomber got the Man City anthem when he won, not the Man U one!! note to organisers, Man U anthem is This is the one by Stone Roses, Bomber will prefer that). Racing was good, dramatic semis and final, some good heats, Emil last bend pass on Crumpie, top drawer. As a motor racing spectacle, this takes some beating, I have been to Silverstone for both F1 and Moto GP and neither comes close. The only thing I would change is to do the draw for racing in time for the printed programmes to reflect it in the scoresheets.
  15. I am amazed IMG dont sort all these things out for the riders in advance of the season starting. Unless they did and he was refused one? (Dad in the KGB or something )
  16. My view was that Nikki tried a particularly brave passing manoeuvre going over gate 1 down the home straight, clattered into Harris who was still ahead going into the corner. Nicki should have been excluded in my opinion, and I don't buy the story that Harris threw himself under Jason Crump's bike to get a re-run. Still, sport is all about opinions!!!
  17. She did fine at the Cup Final, she only did the one song and the National Anthem. I am not convinced we need pre match entertainment though. Parade, racing, trophies, fireworks, home...... Spot on
  18. Don't know too much on Poland, why will this one have a tense atmosphere?
  19. Come on Crumpie and Bomber, give Tarnow a good walloping ........
  20. Time to get rid of it and have 16 full time, wild cards are a waste of time.
