Could you imagine this forum if Poole pulled a stunt like that. But it's just a sad day for Polish speedway, rather than the end of speedway as a whole. There is more moaning about the quality of the streaming video than the fact the away team didn't turn up to the play off final. Sorry but Polish league speedway IS a joke if they get away with that. Imagine Man U not turning up to the derby match yesterday because Van Persie is injured. Nice stadium or no nice stadium, they should be kicked out.

Can we please keep Poole off this thread for once. And I know it isn't the Poole fans introducing it into the topic before anyone has a go.

It's good when the away team turn up. Twice this season, they haven't.

Given he died 50 years ago and people still talk about him and the Belle Vue promotion still run a memorial meeting, must have been some rider.

Zagar no GP's??
-
Yes probably true but you have helped us sort that out. We have helped enough teams in the past with reducing averages for their assets, so we are due something back. Zagar Hougaard AN another Worrall Cook Birks Kerr That'll look ok and save on the flights bill a bit!

Zagar, Cook, Worrall, Hougaard plus????
-
No I don't know you, but apologies, I shouldn't have said that

Sweden and Poland will only have 8 teams each in their top leagues next year, no Brit except Woffinden will get a look in!

So right!

The room you feed your mother in Is the fact that speedway crowds don't double up watching polo events a problem for you? Or don't the C and below deserve the right to watch live sport?
-
Well it's a dead sport, it deserves to be wiped off the face of the planet... Some day we will be all as cool as you and have our rocking chair in the attic ......

Matej Zagar has said he used to hate KIrky Lane but now he enjoys it as he has learnt which lines to ride and the surface is a lot smoother now. I doubt that tracks intimidate riders so much these days, but knowing set ups and racing lines is what gives the home advantage. I think though that this year has seen more close matches than most years, so maybe the home advantage is less relevant now?

Apart from the double points rule, which I do think is a bit daft, what's wrong with the rules?

I don't know how many clubs have fans forums, but they should be regular. i think one of the main problems is that the EL doesn't appear to be run professionally enough. I think it stems quite simply from the fact that the fixture list seems all over the place. I can't see why it can't be that for a 28 match programme it can't be one match a week for each team plus an extra match in a week when there is a bank holiday. Scheduling for other leagues and events becomes simpler and always have Monday nights for rain off rescheduling.

Belle Vues National Speedway Stadium
jimmy jimmy replied to Phil The Ace's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Lets hope this gets the planning permission and we get the first purpose built facility that is the start of a few such facilities, Dudley, Bristol would be good for starters. -
If you read forums for all sports, they are frequented by those who want to vent their spleen about how badly everything is run. According to a number of football forums Arsene Wenger has no idea how to run a football team and they would do it so much better. Just go to your local track, enjoy the night out and the racing and remember it is, for us fans, a bit of fun!

This year was too early for Cook, Worral, Birks, Howarth et al. They may get there, I believe Cook and Worrall will, the other two not too sure about yet. I don't know why Nicholls didn't want to ride, but our best team just weren't there. Danny King, whilst not GP standard, is good enough to do a better job than Lads still plying their trade in the PL. In a couple of years, Tai, Harris, Worrall, Cook and Lambert may be an ok team, not Poland or Denmark, but not too bad.

The only tracks where a GB team of Woffinden, Harris, Cook and say King would excel would be Wolverhampton or perversely Belle Vue, the Danes don't go well round there at all!! -
