  1. Well if you are right then every league is in big trouble. The EL can cut down to being a PL+, but teams struggling in the PL have nowhere to go
  2. If the average crowd is 700 then this isn't a top tier league club, I would imagine most PL teams get more fans I am afraid. Dudley will as well and Kent too. The EL can't keep cost cutting to keep Eastbourne or even my team BV in the top league, if you can't get them through the gate, then tough.
  3. Given that he is wearing kevlars and a helmet most of the time at a speedway track, you can't see them so what's the problem.
  4. It was good to see a speedway rider interviewed on bbc breakfast tv, it doesn't happen very often and minority sports rarely get that level of coverage ever. So enjoy it for what it was. Will it turn speedway back into the place it was in the 1930's, when you seemed to be a speedway fan, no it won't. Could it be the start if getting speedway mentioned a little more on the bbc? Maybe, if the BSPA get their PR act together.
  5. Gustix explained it to me so I am now enlightened
  6. Well at least the BBC are showing some interest in the sport, even if fleetingly. It shows that a good news story will be picked up if your PR team are good enough and work hard enough. BUT, you have to chase them, they wont come to you unless you are in one of the major sports. The BSPA should now start work on a media campaign to promote the beginning of the 2014 season so they can get some momentum. I doubt they will though, which is the shame. Is it just me that doesnt understand this?
  7. Vic Duggan and Ron Johnson had charisma and Tai Woffinden doesnt? Dixie Dean, he had charisma, not like that plank Ronaldo dear oh dear
  8. I am sure he is, it's just that I don't think he has ever been to BV. Maybe it should have been better promoted as a BV development team, where we are looking at future talent, still they scored well so maybe there are a couple of nuggets there.
  9. My point is that a BV team should have some BV riders in it
  10. You really need to take this all a little less seriously, Mr Shovlar does and he's taking you to the cleaners. You know damn well he didn't wish the other poster dead, you just want to construe it that way, dear oh dear
  11. I haven't heard of half our team, what's the point, most of them won't ride for Belle Vue again. Should have used assets like R Worrall, Hougaard to make it a bit more interesting. Is Tabaka a speedway rider?
  12. Smolinski and Doyle are the key to this. If they are firing, Brummies can win this, if not Poole will be too strong in the heat leader department. I think this could be a very entertaining final, two teams built completely differently.
  13. The Swedish obviously have the funding for next year's league funded, the UK doesn't. I think this winter will be the quietest yet, as they won't know if they have a new tv deal possibly until next March. I find it amazing they didn't talk to BT Sport until August, according to the guy earlier, so don't expect any news on teams until after Christmas. All the other leagues will be sorted and the number of guests in 2014 will soar as riders are committed elsewhere. Plus, talk on here of one big league?!! How is the UK going to find 23 or 24 teams of riders, that's the best part of 200 of them, once you get the quota of injuries and cover for them. How are all the fixtures going to be crammed in? Guys like Cook and Worrall are going to want to try their hand at European speedway so are they going to commit to 50 UK fixtures? Will Woffinden, Harris, etc? I doubt it, especially if the points money is lower. Poole May end up with Kyle Howarth as their number 1 next year, Belle Vue with Dryml and Wolves with Klindt. That'll bring them flocking through the gates...... I can't help thinking no one in UK speedway has thought this through at all. Maybe there is a master plan but if there is, it's a pretty well kept secret. Exactly, it went to the last minute and they said no. Are all teams going to wait until march before signing anyone?
  14. I think you will find BV wanted it over as soon as they could.
  15. So of course the BSPA are talking to BT Sport?
  16. Why? Because he might score a lot of points? Posters in here always harp on about the hard men of yesteryear as if they are gods. You get a bit of afters last night and ban them all boo hoo. Sets it up nicely for next week.
  17. Riders don't seem to move over anymore if someone is coming on their inside. Whilst I hope NKI is ok, I thought he turned left on Harris in heat 15, Harris was in front and hadn't moved off the kerb. A few crashes have been like that
  18. Broken vertebrae so Torun won't ride until next June whilst they wait for his return. Still that's ok, Matt Ford doesn't run Torun.
  19. Well lets hope when you fly to Poland, the away team turn up for the match. Maybe avoid Torun or Rzeszow matches. Or Leszno, I believe their track prep is a bit hit and miss, and go early in the season as teams at the bottom might jettison ther high earners if they are looking good for relegation. Plus side Tai Woffinden GP Series European Chanpionship Craig Cook Matej Zagar Minuses Elite League guests, I am afraid there are too many matches which means too many missing star riders. The EL should be 12 teams racing each other once at home, once away. Matches called off for stupid reasons Rider injuries, so many this year Chris Holder's twitter account Team GB picks and performance He shouldn't be picking the GB team either then. Kennett???????
  20. No no no please not Ales, he was so off the pace this year. Kerr would be good I think in the reserve slot.
