  1. If I was the FIM, I would have a Europan Championshups which formed the European qualifiers for the GP Challenge. The American champion should get a GP Challenge slot and the top 3 from the Australian Championship. That makes those national championships mean something and the top guys would enter them.
  2. I agree that the rain off issue needs sorting. Meetings should be restaged a lot sooner, or promotions should work harder to get matches on, better use of track covers etc
  3. But we aren't in the 1970s any more, many fans can't afford speedway every week. Give me better quality once a fortnight than wobblers every week.
  4. I think those who are brave and put a strong team out may actually reap the reward of higher crowds, less off night racing and the play offs can be on a Friday or Saturday night with very big attendances
  5. I can't see any issue with doubling up so long as they organise the leagues so they don't fixture clash. Most Swedes double up in their leagues, including GP riders, so get off the no ambition rubbish
  6. Zagar Cook Worral Lawson Garrity Fricke One more
  7. Craig cook can't get a ride in Sweden, the clubs are nearly full already and Craig has a high average to slot into a Swedish team. It is very easy for people on here to say "oh he should get a team in Sweden, Poland, Timbuktu etc, but it is a lot easier said than done. Both Sweden and Piland now have half the team places allocated for Home riders. So get off his back and the BSPA should take Screamers idea and allocate days of the week for EL (mon, wed, some fri) and the other days for PL. then you can do both easily without conflict. Rocket science...... Mmmmm........ No So does he, but at the moment, he can't get a ride in Sweden.
  8. Air horns and Abba........ 20 pages of abuse, you couldn't make this up!!!
  9. Not sure that's a valid comparison! Both are world class, not sure there is much between them or Sayfutdinov to be honest.
  10. Problem on the stadium front is most of them don't own them so can't improve them. Coventrys is up for sale, doesn't the Swindon owner want to sell that stadium too? But you are right, if the stadia were better, the crowds would be significantly better, I am certain of that.
  11. But it will be consistent throughout the season. However, points limits and cash might be an issue I suppose. Shame really.
  12. Sunday definitely the best day to run speedway for attendances
  13. Why rip up a team who came 2nd overall and finished the regular season top of the league. That team still has improvement in it, especially from Harris who should be able to put 1 point on his average and Covatti.
  14. My opinion, there will be no tv for UK speedway next season. Gospeed will put it on speedway tv as a subscription feed. As for the rest of this thread, you are just repeating what you have been saying for months. You may be right but do you have to keep posting the same points on numerous threads?
  15. If they can afford it then they should be allowed to hire them. The points limit is the leveller, not who can afford what. Otherwise, you have to go with the lowest common denominator, probably Eastbourne, and in no time all tracks will average 750 per match
  16. Airhorngate!! Get over yourselves, it's finished, Poole won, Birmingham won't get closed down over it. We currently have Birmingham, Eastbourne and Swindon in big financial trouble. Poole are well financed and well supported, more clubs should look at how to do the same. Just a bit of exuberance, see it for what it was.
  17. It was a lot better than Polands attempt at a Grand Final!! He was the main reason Birmingham got there in the first place, give him a break
  18. Birmingham performed brilliantly throughout the season, but in a play off situation, top end power will usually prevail and Poole have that in bucketloads with Ward and Hancock. Congratulations to Poole, when they list Holder they didn't just use guests and see the season out, they signed Hancock and rejigged the team, and went for it. Matt Ford is a very competitive guy who wants to win, he does it within the rules, uses them when he needs to (just like Coventry did in 2010 to keep Pawlicki at reserve). The Brummies just ran out of steam but should be proud of their season. I
  19. This could be the last live British speedway match to be seen on TV for a while, so hope its a good one. Poole would have won by seven on a decent track too, team in form and BV too inconsistent.
  20. So a couple of small time radio presenters don't like speedway, big deal. Won't put anyone off going.
  21. We definitiely need a second GP in the UK, especially as most GP riders won't be in the EL as the money dries up.
