  1. The shape is wrong! My post from months ago was asking what was wrong with the shape. I was interested in Glyns opinion. Everything else did look OK and still does. I.E. the stadium in its 1st season. You named a few riders that like it. Maybe they have all had good meetings there. I could name many more that say its no good. And yes I will not be back if it remains the same. I want to see speedway racing not riding.
  2. Might be better off putting the mill waste on the track. I know quite a few riders from various teams personally and they all hate it. Wrong shape! Glyn Taylor has even been on here and said its all wrong! Been twice now and won't return until they change the shape of the bloody thing!
  3. Without doubt the worst speedway meeting I have had the misfortune to attend in the last 25 years. I went to the Bears league meeting there and that wasn't much better. Don't wait until the end of the season to change the shape of the inside line. Close for 2 weeks and do it before its too late!
  4. And future World Champs possibly. Oh the arrogance of the successful. Lets see how much Ashworth achieves in comparison. Unless the meeting is held at Sheffield of course!
  5. I do and will continue to do so until these events are held at neutral tracks. Would love to hand my money over to speedway and what I could have spent at Sheffield for the PLRC and Workington for the 4TTT is burning a massive hole in my pocket but I won't give it away to the short sighted custodians of the so called 'Super 7'.
  6. I'm not bothered who wins just sick and tired of the home team/rider winning on their home track more often than not(PLRC, 4TTT etc), its boring, not good for the sports credability and quite frankly a waste of time and money traveling to these events. GER IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Well didn't it? Come on! Most Sheffield supporters have been complaining that Ricky isn't a true number 1 for most of the season. He averages over 9 at home and only about 7 away! I rest my case.
  8. Too true and there is nothing wrong with a bit of confident arrogance, all true winners have it! Both Ward and Proctor will go onto great things in this sport baring injury because of it.
  9. Strong words from Ty Proctor in the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette tonight. "Take the meeting to anywhere else and bring it on" "It's Ricky Ashworths home track of course he's going to win it. He rides here every week. Take it to Kings Lynn, take it anywhere else and there would have been a diferent winner". Saying what most people are thinking. Far from sour grapes, just common sense! Ashworth wouldn't have won anywhere else!
  10. Would he have won it anywhere else? Come on be honest! Of course he had home track advantage. Yes he did very well to win it but come on! How many times have Workington won the 4's at Workington? This is getting boring now please BSPA give your heads a shake and give us something neutral. Yes some of the PL boys double up but the don't ride on their EL tracks every week. After nearly 25 years following this sport I am becoming more and more frustrated by the lack of fairness. Major PL events on PL tracks and the double point joker in league matches. What a farce!
  11. Did he have NO advantage then? Would he have won at any other track in the country?
  12. Why not? You have commented on many meetings you haven't been at. Like i said, take nothing away from Ashworth he has done well but until they hold these meetings at neutral tracks I will not attend. Maybe Ashworth would have won no matter what track it was held at but we will never know. If the home rider or team wins questions will always be asked or are you too naive to realise that ?
  13. Taking nothing away from Ricky as its still a great win for him against a top class field but yet again we see the reason I give these big events a wide berth. The home rider/team nearly always wins. For me its not worth the time, effort and money to attend. OK they are gaurenteed the Sheffield support but the rest of the fans may feel ripped off! Please lets go neutral next season. I think the BSPA would be suprised how many fans actually turn up as I would and there must be a few others out there who feel the same! If we carry on we this trend I and quite a few people I haqve spoken to will not be there.
  14. 4 out of 9 is still a good result for Sheffield that no doubt wouldn't have been repeated had the event been held on a neutral track. Just not a fan of a rider or team having an unfair advantage thats all, just kind of spoils things for me.
  15. Sheffield for the PLRC. Wilson and Compton (Of the Andre variety) need I say more?
  16. Trust me if the 4TT was held at Redcar we wouldn't win it. Too many other riders enjoy the place! If we are going to run with the 4TT would prefer to see the qualifiers back like we used to have in the good old days.
  17. If they held it at Berwick and they won everyone would say they only won because of home track advantage ala Workington. The only way to get a worthy winner is to hold it a neutral track, no offence.
  18. Again I'm so relieved I gave this 'prestige' event a miss! Workington won it yet again on their home track, what a suprise! Borefest. Agree with others, lets have it back at Peterborough with it being a neutral EL track. Always created a good atmosphere years ago when it was the spiritual home of the 4TT. Thing is though the BSPA like to hold it on a current PL track as it gaurentees the home fans turning up thus ensuring a good gate when coupled with the traveling support. On a neutral track you only get the travelling support! The sooner we get an independant ruling body the better!
  19. Totally agree. He gambled and lost. If they got through he would of been hailed a tactical genius but he failed, end of, Lyon is the weakest link, goodbye!
  20. For once JH I agree with you. Rob Lyon is obviously a puppet for the Chumpman regime. Could of made better team choices or that select group have fallen out with certain riders hence the picks. Rosco would be a good choice as long as he doesn't lose his cool as is his nature.
  21. Might be better for the usual track staff at the permanent tracks to prepare the surface as per normal and not bring in an outside team or let Olsen dictate as much as he does. The local track staff surely know what they are doing, they have had enough practice. The Polish tracks used in the GP are renowned for providing good racing yet in the lastest GPs they are packed down solid by Olsens team.
