  1. lol, Jules. Buzz gets to see what goes on in the internet world. Someone shows him when he comes round Fancy retiring him! Then ageing him 4 years!! But, worst of all, saying his riding days are over!!! (It was Alicat that lowered the tone, not me, lol)
  2. I couldn't be there due to work commitments, however my son & his Mum were. Screw Curtis, here's hoping to find an new site and build a better club, without the sound problems etc, like Somerset did. Good luck Harold and the team.
  3. http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/8673616.Cats__chief_hits_back_in_pay_row/ The latest from the local paper.
  4. http://www.weymouthwildcats.co.uk/html/november_2010.html Following extract taken from the above "official" wildcats website. WILDCATS FORCED TO CLOSE By Weymouth Speedway ~ Monday 15th November 2010 WEYMOUTH WILDCATS was today forced to close in a dramatic turn of events which has seen the BSPA annul the club and the landlords repossess the stadium and change the locks. Wildcats chairman Phil Bartlett said; “It’s a relief today to learn from the stadium owners Wessex Delivery that they have today taken the stadium back into their own hands which I agreed to due to non payment. I will be collecting my personal belongings at a later stage.” “It’s a great shame as I had a buyer in place and received confirmation from my solicitor this weekend that there was an undertaking to take on all the existing liabilities and to clear all outstanding monies. The club was set to be taken forward, but this will now not be the case.” “It’s a great shame that the BSPA have also stepped in and annulled Weymouth Speedway as well. The licence returns to the BSPA along with the clubs riding assets. This is for non-payment to the BSPA despite the fact that they have owed me money for two years whereas I owe them six months money.” “I can now quite clearly concentrate on my family life and business and actually have a holiday in the summer like most normal working people. Also not having to arrange a meeting on a weekly basis for it to be unsustainable with insufficient people in attendance is a great relief. Despite the promotions that the club has done and winning the league in 2008 Weymouth Speedway has always made a loss.” “I think it’s a fantastic sport and I wish any prospective person who looks to take the club over and negotiates with the stadium owner and the BSPA I wish them all the luck in the world, but speedway in Weymouth in unsustainable in the current climate and format that speedway runs.” Training session dates booked through the off season have obviously now been cancelled. What now for the club???
  5. Glad I got it printed and saved. Can't go round saying stuff like that!
  6. Quite agree, I have seen some great meetings at Weymouth and think the potential is there it just needs to be tapped.
  7. I only hope Phil will post to say all are welcome.
  8. Here, Here. I hope all those who consider themselves "banned" or "un-welcome" also turn up to show any new buyer the support is there. I'll be there with my little boy, who loves his speedway and hope to see some old faces.
  9. I bid £5 (five pounds) but don't want the debt the club has! £5 is my offer.
  10. I was there and also thought it wasn't as many as last year. The friend I go with agreed. There were alot more dick heads tho. The fighting between bends 1 and 2 (in the stands, not on the track) was a disgrace. The safety of the paying crowd was woefully put at risk. Atmosphere, until the riot started, was as good as it always is. Not alot of talk about Davey Watt. Had a good chance last night, pity.
  11. http://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/8254226.Will_it_be_the_end_of_the_Day_/ Is there an official line from the club? Or is this the Echo running away with it again? From the local Paper: By Rob Meech » TERRY Day’s future as a Weymouth Weyline Wildcat looks uncertain after chairman Phil Bartlett revealed he was considering signing a replacement. Day sustained severe concussion and had been left hospitalised following a sickening crash in a National League Knockout Cup tie against the Newport Hornets on May 28. He has not featured for the Wildcats since and his return to the saddle has been postponed several times as his painstaking recovery continues. And Bartlett, who oversaw Wey-mouth’s first National League victory of the season on Friday night, admits he could be forced to make the difficult decision to axe Day. He said: “I want to stick with Terry if I can because he’s been good for the club and is a well-liked rider. But the averages have changed and it’s time to re-evaluate and see what we can or can’t fit in. “There’s no indication of when Terry will be back. “He thought he was getting better at the end of last week but now he’s not so sure. “I’m sure the league will be flexible about the rider replacement ruling because there aren’t enough riders around at the moment, so we’ll see what happens. “Replacing him would be because it’s a necessity. I can’t sit here waiting forever for him to come back. I need to do something because overall we haven’t really covered for him too well. “Now we’ve got a win under our belt we need to keep it going. It’s time to have a look round and see where we can strengthen up.”
  12. Has anyone got any news on the replacement for Weymouth's Terry Day? One or two whispers going around down here but would prefer to here it from the club. If it's all hot air, would they have to use their number 8 or is there another option?
  13. He's been staying open till the start of the meetings on Fridays. If the trade is there he'll stay open longer.
  14. Don't worry Bruno. The Cafe at the football club is open before the meeting for quality nosh and draught beers (un-like the warm, ovepriced cans sold at the track) Much to Mr Bartlets dislike
  15. Have you seen the toilets inside the football ground? They are worse than the portaloos bye a mile!
