  1. Your are correct regarding the 1964 programme picture, what I remember about it was the picture was the riders going out for the original final before the protest.Hunter and Gilbertson helmet colours were different in the actual final.(there is a a piece of useless information, but would be a good Quiz question ).White & Y/B were swopped round in final.Am I right with thie assumption?
  2. Think you are mixing up the years in 1963 there was the famous "sit in" when the was confusion who should be in final.George Hunter and Ross Gilbertson were 1st and 2nd in run-off ironically they were the ones in the original final, before the protest .George Hunter e/f in in lead in final which was won by Mauger with Kitchen 2nd..I was there in 1963 but might not be 100% with the facts (sure someone will correct me )Wayne was runner up in 1962 (I think). The reason I remember this is it was the year Peter Craven was killed at Edinburgh a few weeks earlier and George Hunter had been involved in the accident, when his engine had seized .
  3. GREAT entertainer and worthy champion. Some of his passes over the years have been unbelievable and the reason you go to watch speedway.
  4. Well done Tomasz fully deserved Title on of the best entertainers on a speedway bike .Title in the bag and still focussed on the win on the night. To hear Pearson and Tatum comments about him taking chances with title in the bag is pitiful,Gollob never short -changes the fans.Well done Chris Harris who once again proves if you give him a decent racetrack he can compete with the best.Hans does not have much luck these days in gp's but him and AJ seem to be "over the hill" in regards title contenders.
  5. The next highest in the averages should be in,end of story irrespective of who he rides for, EVERY team has got at least one rider there which is what really matters.
  6. While the track was prepared different to normal, it certainly sorted the men from the boys.Gating tarts Bjerre,Batchelor and Schlein just wanted to go home.Swales was queit last night for a change wonder why!!!!!.Peterborough Poles will probably be sacked for showing up the Superstars, well done to them. I think Kelvin wanted to blame the track then realised it was certain riders from the home team, then got stuck into them!!!!!!!!!
  7. Personally I don't Murray would even claim that fact.
  8. Wayne would have been a great rider IMO if his career had not been blighted by serios injuries Wayne and George Hunter had very similier styles and were heading for the top till varoius mishaps took their toll. Those were the days!!
  9. Emil is a cast iron cert for next season IMO.Jonsson & Anderson might be in danger if they don't make the top 8 IMO
  10. While this looks as though it could be a cracker of a meeting the title looks a bit misleading
  11. He's waitng to see if Josh is fit and have a pint with his mechanic
  12. Yep! and a DVD player showing England world cup highlights 2010
  13. While your post MAY be in jest you will be more than a little bit red-faced if you ever were able to visit it.It is truely amazing.
  14. You are right about the Polish team manager .I did not realise that you could replace a rider in your team more than once if you were behind which made it even more an error.
  15. I was not complaining on who qualified or not . I was just pointing out the chance for BSPA to run a full event and maybe make a decent profit given the timing and location of the event
  16. It was run with more Teams than that in the National League in the 70's/80's, all teams were represented .I attended one at Halifax big crowd, plenty profit for Speedway,an opportunity missed IMO.
