The point is the tapes did not rise evenly, not who messed up the start.Considering the technology aviable it was a poor decision not to rerun the heat.IMO. -

Nikki's version of incident of final is laughable,he needs to concentrate on racing his opponents as oppossed to stopping them getting round the 1st bend!!!.Gp racing is hard and should be fair. You have got to give Holder a lot of credit for the manner he took his 1st bend treatment from Nikki,if it had been the other way round things might have been different I sure Nikki would not have been so diplomatic. -
Thanks for posting Link,cracking speedway.

'3rd. Division' All-time Appearances
Fromafar replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in National League Speedway
Well Said, there has to be entertaiment value to attract the fans and surely for the young guys their sights are set on beating the old hands to gauge their progession.Promoters always seem to want the best of both worlds these days regarding 3rd tier racing.Should not pay over the odds but there has to be a balance of youth and experiance. -
Near enough for me 50 years on

Think he was an Australian, don't know if still around.

Brian Mckeown also rings a bell.Possibly Kev Torpie before he came to Monarchs.
-
I remember him riding for Middlesboro at Old Meadowbank early 60's.Eric Boothroyd was in that team if my memory is still OK.

Peterborough Panthers - Nl Or Closure?
Fromafar replied to NeilWatson's topic in National League Speedway
I sincerly hope Peterborough do run speedway next year, speedway at the Showground has to be kept going to save another venue for closure and lost to the sport. -
Peterborough Panthers - Nl Or Closure?

Mainly because the BSPA say so.Its their ball and they like to say who can play with them. -

To lose speedway at the Showground would be criminal some fantastic speedway over the years on that track,The BSPA should be ashamed if they have turned down an application from Peterborough to go PL.Sad state of affairs IMO -
If Plymouth meet the standards set out for the PL it is a disgrace they are not allowed to move up.Speedway is in a total shambles these days,it is no wonder fans are turning their back on the sport it just cannot be taken seriously the way it is run.

The point being there is not enough people coming through the turnstile, which you acknowledge.

You are right in that respect, Buster's " other interests" will always come in for critisism in some quarters if the Stars are not successful but thats life.

I think there are a few Promoters struggling to pay the "going rate " which tells us some thing that we already know Certain riders are overpayed IMO given the economic climate.I think some fans are voting "with their feet " for that very reason.Machin has been saying this for years about the "senior riders" and I for one tend to agree with him.

Congratulation on a well deserved success,A few teams should take a leaf out or your book regarding how to develope and run a team in the National League in the spirit it was set up for(not paying over the odd's for riders who's career is on the way down).Wish you every success in the future.

In the book "history of the speedway Hoskins "Ian states that he had never ridden speedway before his debut at Edinburgh. He also states that he signed for Poole in 1966 and retired at the end of the season, which is a load of nonsense. He rode for Hoskins at Coabridge in 1968!!!!!!!!!!.He also rode for Exeter and possibly Wembley after that.
