Sgp New Format Idea
Fromafar replied to Robbie B's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
16 rider is fine but perhaps point scoring should be altered slightly ,think semi-finalists should be awarding some more points for qualifying even if they finish last .Certainly been a good series this season apart from the usual gate and go tracks. -

Thats the trouble with guests, its a no win situation for Doolan. He has been a bit of a mystery the last couple of seasons with his sudden loss of form. -
Robert Lambert National League Next Year?
Fromafar replied to Damon's topic in National League Speedway
Think his mentors have got their head srewed on the right way I'm sure they will know whats best for him.Best of luck to him he looks a talent Personaly I think if he races here he should skip the NL and start in the PL.racing against more expierianced riders. -

Doolan and Heeps done a lot of damage earlier in the season, Poole has not shown much form since replacing Doolan and Heeps is still injured so it should be a close run thing IMO.If Ricky returns he will need to nave a decent match for Berwick to benifit.Hope for a large turn out again the Promotion are really showing that the fans are the people that count, fair play to them. -
These leagues you mention they may be strictly amateur ,bur like the Northern Junior League a lot of the riders are also in the NL. Liam Carr,Liam Rumsay are 2 that spring to mind.I have nothing personal against Joe or Dudley but really the sport has to get its house in order to be taken seriously

Will Gjedde not be back next season ? -
I will believe you regarding mocking (i suppose).I think your idea is a wind-up Your brain is still frazzled from all these average calculations. More important issue is will the track be as slick as Ipswich's last visit. If so what will the result be.Although injuries and sackings mean it is not the same riders on show.

Lets clear one thing up Big Ed ,the point I was making a couple of weeks ago was the the averages are unfair regarding guests IMO where perhaps the currentt season average should be applied rather than the rolling average(the example I gave was Craig Cook who is averaging around 10pts THIS season but due to rolling averages Edinburgh could only get a guest around 8.5 silghtly unfair IMO,my second point was that Dyer and Aspregen were still on good rolling averages as they had not yet rode 38 matches and I considered them to be a good signing with that point in mind).YOU were the one that said an average is an average and were mocking my opinion(no problem there all in a Saturday nights entertainment) listen to the whole story before trying to shoot me down.Better go and dig up some more bait now .

They are not Leagues though are they.
-
NL was intended to be a development League IMO. Who is going to finance a league to sit below what is already meant to be that league.Trouble is riders are allowed to jump back and forth and make a mockery of the sport. Ask Joe to help out and ride for nothing and wait for his reply,Which is really what you are saying about your other league .
-
Agree its the rulebook that needs reviewed for the good of the sport IMO
-
At the end of the day it does nothing for the credibility of the sport. Trying to attract new people into speedway must be difficult in all 3 leagues with rules that are in place.

What a joke .

Poor gating cost us today.Plenty of effort from the Bandits.Rain started during the match which make the track a little greasy and gating became vital.Seb was taking the Lee Complin line and Nikki was impressive and well worth his points David had bike trouble in what looked like his easiest heat (8) but had 2 good heat wins.
