  1. I think no studio chat was a bonus as it is just a boring time wasting exercise with Sky(same old everytme)
  2. Good light-hearted commentry from Wade and Johno.A few wee errors but still easy listening. Johno is is one of the best IMO. IMO too much track Prep in GP's just when the racing is kicking in they water the track and the processions start again .
  3. Definately one of the greatest riders to grace speedway, as a fan who saw him in action from his Provincial days right through his career he certainly was THE main attraction when he visited your track and certainly never let anybody down, the ulitimate professional who changed the sport IMO .
  4. I agree with you on this one, even if the sport reverts back to Semi Professional it would not effect the entertainment value IMO .
  5. I wasn't there but without detracting from all the young riders who went out and gave "it a go' this a problem with modern day speedway ,wet tracks ,slick tracks heavy tracks with too much dirt seems to be always the topic.Speedway like other motorcyling sports is meant to be about throttle control and taking the track conditions into account. Modern technology has made a speedway bike a "handful" unless the rider has a proper "set -up" and are in control of their machine which nowadays a lot of rider seem to struggle with. The weather plays the major part in track prep IMO but the sport is really suffering from riders being unable too ride to the track conditions that confront them. Me might aswell race on tarmac ovals then at least you know what to expect. It is little wonder the sport is struggling to attact "new " fans and keep them.
  6. I think discretion on the night would prevail in this situation, trivial really.
  7. Brave venture IMO. At the price dont fancy it's chances .Speedway is pretty much covered in present Mags £5 a shot for something that appears to "be the same but different" is a big gamble.
  8. Must be disapointing for Paul Ackroyd when these riders let him down for such a good cause ,when a little bit of effort is all that was required to help him out. I am sure the riders that turn out will put a good show , and a good crowd will turn out to support the event.
  9. So you are saying he has been fined for something he didn't do.Playing with words IMO.What did he own up too.
  10. Was he a New Zealander,or is my memory failing! Sorry brain fade just read earlier Post!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. If this is true there is obviously agood reason for it but IMO it would be a bad move as most of the fans are on the present 1st/ 2nd bend while nobody stands on the 3rd /4th bend as you cannot see any racing due to the height of the safety fence ,also I think the present 3rd/4th bend is a bit tight for 4 riders at the start of a race.
  12. That seems to confirm where he will be next season, BERWICK
  13. Scott Lamb,Dont know what he works at these days but pretty sure he is a regular at Armadale.
  14. Interesting reading in SS, new centre green presenter for next seaon is M Max getting the Heave or is he getting an assisant ?
  15. Lets face it 3 meetings in 3 days in GB is not a big ask giving the nature of the EVENTS considering what they will travel in consecutive days in the normal season. Travel is not an issue in my book, but who wants to make the effort is the question.PS I have no idea what riders have been asked or otherwise my point is about the nature of the meeting and the cause.
  16. The clash of dates is unfortune but it shows the lack of communication and self interest that exists between Speedway Promotions, the Ben Fund on March 9th was obviously set early to attract riders warming up for the season and attract Star names to boost the crowd before their busy league schedule begins but IMO the Testimonials have jump in and offered the GP guys some practice for the NZ GP knowing their "friends" wouldn't let them down and it would disrupt the proceedingsof Ben Fund, pretty poor IMO.I am sure the riders that turn will put a good show though.
  17. Whats to stop a rider competing at Berwick if asked, the Testimonials they are on different days.If there was money to be made these same riders would ride in all 3 meetings I would bet.
  18. Fail to see why everybody only seem to concentrate on Australians who dont make the grade, there are plenty of teams had other "foreigners " who turned out to be useless.Work Permits are just an excuse IMO.
