Wish people would stop including Smith and Barnfield as excuses .Clearly the replacements were no worse.we got conned by the German and that started the troubled season regarding team strength. Season is over now lets move on.Ricky was Bandit of the year IMO and he was Kozza's replacement !!! -

You are correct Cook pulling out after 2 rides puts this tie on a Knifedge ,other wise it would have been a no contest tomorrow IMO -

Thi post should be re-named Shadders V Silver. There is certainly no connection to Rye v Berwick that I can see -
I think a Free Admission Meeting for the 1st meeting of the season is an Idea .The riders can provide their services free of charge and put something back into the sport as their livelihood depends on it to an extent.I also agree with Oldace the the reasons the fans are deserting the sport have to been addressed to make sure that newcomers are entertained and want to come back. Most things have been covered regarding this matter but unfortunately without coming up with any real solutions. The promoters and the BSPA are the ones who have to make the right moves to get the sport back on track IMO. The majority of the fans dont have much Idea the effort and expense it takes to run a Club (myself included) but on the other hand talking to other fans there is general opinion on what is lacking in the sport which has been discussed and debated (and argued about) on this forum. I would stress that not everyone is a "forum fanny " which is always touted when a touchy subject is mentioned.

Agree with Paulco it very much gate and go apart from some tight 1st bends. If plans to alter the track succeed I think the racing will improve greatly. -
I agree regarding non avialability of riders its killing British speedway, and when you see the number of 2nd rate foriegners it doesnt help

Why should we conspire to lose today, we could have let Redcar win at Berwick and bring the season to a close if we wanted to end the season at home ,you are getting a bit carried away again.Barret and Dyer showed us today why they should be pencilled in for reserves next seaon both a steal on their average. -
Think youwill know after tomorrow if Berwick go through we race Workington on Sun if not we race on Workington on SAT according to website dont see any reason why it should change
-
There is no easy answers ,thats for sure. Us keyboard commando's should be in for a busy closed season. . I really think Promoters have to back to the drawing board regarding riders Pay demands and stick together if the product has to be diluted us as fans have to accept the fact that the money is just not in the sport at the present time'and hope the standard of racing and entertainment is not effected too much I certainly dont have the answers regarding attract NEW fans and keeping them. The Rules have to be simplified regarding Averages and Point Scoring IMO.

Have to agree ,Health and Safety and bike technology and speed have made the sport a DRY summertime sport. No more boiler suited riders show their throttle control on a wet track.A wet track or any sign of rain usually means 3/4 of the riders don't want to know therefore fans have negitive outlook about the meeting being on and give it a miss.IMO

Dont think anything Glasgow do really affects Monarchs,I normally try take in 3-4 meetings a season at Armadale and have commented on how small the crowds have got in the last few seasons its the same story at most track IMO .Monarchs are a well run club but like many others there is only so much money you can throw at it .Unless the Directors have something up their sleeve I can't see much hope of Speedway returning to Edinburgh(city) before the start of next season though.Hope they find a way to survive.
