Laugh Out Loud.....it's British Speedway
Fromafar replied to speedway_dan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Team speedway these days is just Home Team Select v Away Team Select and IMO is the one of the main reasons fans are deserting the sport. Different riders every season for no other reason than Averages is wrong . -

It will be interesting to see what impact that meeting has on the Berwick croƔds for the rest of the season, certainly we're not great before the Sky fixture, they went out there way to make it a success here is hoping it has had the desired effect for the rest of the season. Attendances appeared to have dropped at a number of tracks this season if what you read is correct. -
Scott and Sophie were good at least Sophie does not need someone in her ear telling her what questions to ask,as some people make out that that is all that is wrong with Charlie on Sky.You feel confident that Sophie is not going to ask stupid. Questions.Scott was patient with the Eurosport guy who obviously hadn't a clue.

I agree thought Tai should have been excluded. -

Though Lingren was unlucky to get excluded for Tia crash, dont think he made Tai changed his line that much, when you see what KK did on Emil .still wish Tai Speedy recovery. -
Plymouth small out-in-the-country .? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Population 250.000+

That depends on which Team you sign for if you go by previous decisions.

That tells me that the track should be heavily watered the day before the meeting if the forecast allows ,don't know if this is what happens normally,A fairly well watered track always produces good racing after the first few heatsI IMO . -

I fail to see your point regarding the Promotions press release,Perhaps you could (in your opinion) Explain what wrong with it.It was an apology for the poor showing of the Team over the Week-end and assuring the fans that it has to improve. Long Track for Pepe ,he would never be there. -
While I don't dispute your post,I do think that a lot of fans now don't take it seriously because off the riders and team situation and just pick and choose when to attend meetings as opposed to be a regular every week plus I know a lot of regular fans who have just gave up .I don't think many Teams have a increased attendance these days.I really think fans want to see their riders every week and International speedway is killing Team racing in UK. Most fans will except injuries for missing riders as part and parcel of the sport but as for all the missing riders .Well.

Strange why Joe wants to make those statements on social networking ,does him no favours all round. The promotion would have to say something after the week-end the team has just had.he should be discussing it with the management first IMO.Shows the mentality of some riders. -

you probably missed the riders moaning in the pits regarding any track watering nowadays ,track grading and light watering should happen in these conditions but modern technology seems to be against this.No thought regarding the paying public -
Edinburgh, the only Team on maximum points in the league

Workington Comets Vs Glasgow Tigers 25th May
Fromafar replied to Django's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That must just about be a record of points scored by guests in one fixture,if you look at Screens away scores they have the pattern since he joined them some great rides and some poor rides depending on Gating . -
Have to agree,I think it is one of the main reasons that new fan drift away,it is very difficult to market as a serious Team sport when Everyman and his dog can ride for any team during a season. If as a lot of fans insist it is just 4 men producing decent racing you would as well just Promoting Individual Meetings. How many tracks are racing in front of increased attendances this.Answers on aPostage Stamp please.

Just bin all these silly D/U rules that the Elite league seem to want 7 riders in the team from start of season and get on with it.Dont sign riders that will be missing half the season fans want to see THEIR riders every week. -

I think most people agree the Promotion done Berwick proud in promoting the sport in the area, however it is common knowledge that Speedway as a sport is going through tough times if last nights meeting doesn't tempt fans back then who knows what the answer is .The unfortunate thing is the Team is struggling, again mainly through injuries and not much luck. A winning Team means a lot to sports fans these days espiecially new younger fans.So we need to get back on track regarding Home results.I disagree with Chris Louis assessment that Berwick have big Home advantage as most riders appear to fly round if they hit the front.Ian Rea was correct in his assessment that we should be gating and riding better 1st Bends. Here's hoping the crowd levels improve after last nights meeting. -

Berwick should be glad if Newcastle presented an under strength Team otherwise they would have be humiliated.who said speedway rules are not stupid!!! Just what we need a:different guest every week don't think that will bring the crowd flocking back . -

The one thing everybody agrees on is if a couple of metres could be chopped off the football pitch on the entry and exits to the bends it would be a sensational track, unfortunately this is very unlikely to ever happen which is a shame.I agree regarding Kerr most impressive even when under pressure from Aspregren. These Moto -Cross boys can gate and hold there own on the first bend, which is handy. -

I Personaly was disappointed with Kennett a rider of his experience should have been able to dial into the track for his later races, unlike Kozza and Matty who bust a gut he just went through the motions IMO although the track did slicken off in the later heats and made passing difficult ,maybe a track grade and a light water would have helped. -

Complin rode for Berwick though it was not a league match.Paul Clews ran into him when he slid off on the 3rd bend and Complin broke his arm -
