  1. I would agree to stick with Craig if GB did not have a chance of winning on Thurs, but lets face it Aussies are in the Sam e boat as GB 2 decent riders and Latvia could be anything.Barker and King might do a job so you have to give them a chance IMO.I have never though that Craig has classic style but can be fast I think the dirt caught him out IMO.
  2. Agree,Barker and King have to get a chance or we will never know.GB were never going to qualify from tonight.Cook exposed he is a class PL rider and OK in British elite league which is a poor standard, don't think he would do anything on the Continent. At 27 it is hard to say if he will improve much more.I don't think he will ever be aGP rider but would be happy to be proved long,he is dedicated now.
  3. Craig is a class act in the PL .Lets see what he can produce at GP level although tonight is not that high with injuries ect.Hope GB make the Final then we shall see.Its a forum why should I not be allowed to make comments whether you think they are irrelevant or not.
  4. I wait till Cook comes charging under the GP riders to see what the outcome will be hope he has brakes fitted he will need them IMO.
  5. Agree the track was good on Sat it slickens off towards the end ,but at least the riders can give it a go when prepared this way .A lot of decent entertainment with the nail biting finish and none of these exciting re-runs which some fans like!! Beaten by the better team on the night.Spoke to one of the Redcar riders who though it could have done with more water on it before meeting but appreciated the the football had been on and the track was drying quickly.
  6. Must congratulate Paul on a fine nights riding against a strong team.
  7. Funnily enough Les always springs to mind for me also.Perhaps senior riders should make these decisions at the end of a season as it always leaves them open to a little criticism ,especially when in Glasgows case the team has been built round them.
  8. I will stick by my quote from earlier in the season some senior riders are just going through the motions.I think when riders announce they are going to retire at the end of a season their mindset changes even though they think they are still fully committed .Its just one of these things IMO.
  9. Kings Lynn are at Peterborough on Fri so you would assume it would have to be for Proctor.Who knows though.
  10. We look a bit suspect in the reserve berth.Wilkinson will take care of them if he can stay on the bike.IMO.Should be a decent meeting.
  11. With nothing really at stake ,maybe we should have gave Liam Carr a spin if he was nor required for Buxton looked a little out of his depth at Glasgow but has ridden Shielfield enough times. Not criticising Promotions choice but just a thought and would save some travel expenses.
  12. What has the tactical points got to do with on the the night, when you do not know what would have happened if Edinburgh had used the proper facility on the night.Without re running the fixture surely that's the only out come that can be taken.Redcar might have not needed a tactical ride if aNL guest had been used who knows what the out come would have been.these c#ck ups can on happen in speedway ,the Chairman of the BSPA appears not to know the rules when effects his club !!!!!
  13. 20 years ago my uncle a diehard speedway fan since his youth just suddenly stopped going for no other reason than had enough not disillusioned just had enough and starting to get on a bit roughly 60,me be that much younger could not believe it how he could just stop going now that I am approaching the same age have got exactly the same feeling ,still love when I go but sometimes just decide on the day to give it a miss more and more ,I am sure a lot of older fans drift away just the same way, trouble is the sport cannot seem to attract the younger fans and keep them.I think one of the main factors is that growing up in my era your Dad or family took you everywhere with him (football, speedway ect) until you were in your late teens and that introduced you to various sports nowadays most young people are doing their"own thing from very early teens and it is probably "not cool"to be away on family outings we have missed 2-3 generations of "young fans" for various reasons and the sport is suffering, and that's not counting the way it is run.
  14. While I Personaly did not find the meeting boring,10 re-runs,tapes malfunction and numerous falls would not be seen as exciting by a lot of fans.If this had been the Sky Televised Meeting would it have been seen in the same light,I'm sure the Promotion would have been tearing their hair out wondering if they were going to make the deadline .while ALL the above mentioned things can happen at ANY meeting to report them in such a manner as adding to the excitement is dubious to say the least IMO.Great to see Ricky coming back ,he has certainly been missed, hope he can have an injury free run for the rest of the season and has not lost his gating touch.
  15. obviously I'm not at track expert or I would not be baffled, only expressing my opinion on what I pay to watch ,Razer prepares the track as he sees fit.Everything still perfect in your world that's fine by me.
  16. I'm afraid the track prep from week to week baffles me,most weeks the real racing begins at about Ht 10 when the "wonder wheels" finally loosen and spread the heavy dirt on the outside 2/3 of the track and the riders can start to use that bit of the track with confidence. If we get a week of rain and the meeting is on the racing is usually better!!
  17. Harris is not exactly have a cracking season either looking at EL averages not just Kennet IMO.
  18. I would agree with you on that one, attended Edinburgh on Friday and Berwick last night and saw at least 1/2 dozen of the incident you mention at EACH track ,pit bend at Edinburgh ,exit to second bend at Berwick and at both tracks riders were lucky to get away without serious injury and some hairy moments for the other riders in the races concerned.IMO silencers certainly don't help the situation when a rider gets pushed out of the racing line and has to react by shutting the throttle, the bike just takes off.Its noticeable nowadays that race leaders keep the throttle wound on even when winning by miles ,I think this has to be done to keep out of trouble and ride the ruts.
  19. i Initially said it was a knee injury another Ambulance arrived at Stadium but not sure if Ben went away in it.
  20. your boy was brilliant, with a decent Team manager you might have sneaked a win, unfortunately Barkers fall end your hopes.should have gave Hawkins his 3rd ride in Heat 13 in place of Lanham and put Ellis in Heat 14 IMO.
