  1. Some riders in the Team I support seem to have jumped the gun and had them fitted for this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Waste of time even proposing this as a rule ,there is no way the it can be policed and adhered too if certain promotion dont want to bide by it.If thats the best they could come up with it makes you wonder where the future of the sport is going.Ipswich have clearly stated they are not implementing for their riders.
  3. I think £3 for a programme (however good it is )is a joke .
  4. It might surprise you ,everyone want to think they have the edge and best equipment is part of these thoughts .
  5. Reality is that nobody knows the Deals on offer, most of the figures banded about are just rumours or hearsay, just like when you hear some of the demands made by the riders. Hats of to Joe Jacobs for at least giving Glasgow a try, hope that it pays off for him.
  6. Ipswich are stating in this weeks SS that they will pay bonus points, are they breaking the rules or was it a choice of each Promotion whether they were paid or not, another shambles by the sound of things. So much for cost cutting. It was stupid to even try to introduce something so flawed IMO.
  7. Depends what the demands are of a young Brit ,this is probably taken into consideration when looking at Young Aussies that would become assetts.
  8. I think nowadays one of the problems are the the senior riders and top men just stay in PL and earn a good living stifling the opportunties for rider "turnaround" and most teams are looking for an" unknown" foriegner who might " hit the ground running",as most fans can see that British talent in NL is" work in progress".Dont see any overnight British sensations which was quite common in the past IMO
  9. This weeks SS is quite refreshing in the way it has reformatted its articles IMO.
  10. You previously said the clubs dont apply until January surely between them they and Sam should have known his Visa was running out and irrespective of rule changes should have had the matter in hand, poor planning all round IMO.It a shame such a talented rider will be missingthis season (if that is the case).
  11. So what is the new rule that every other club seemed to know about that Somerset and Sam didn't.Do all clubs have to wait till end of January if so what changed that messed up Sam's application or is it a secret .
  12. Have to disagree,if it was my livelyhood at stake I wouldn't be relying solely on other people to conduct the applicationj. The new rules must have been written down somewhere if changes had been made.Immigration and visa's is not an obscure subject and hidden away in a secret file somewhere.
  13. Its mystifying why these established riders have so much trouble regarding Visa's surely thats the 1st thing you would be checking out and making sure everything is in place for your yourself EVERY year rather than wait for some one to tell you things have changed, its their livelyhood!!.they have 6 months to make sure .
  14. Any idea what standard points and prize money is for riders in the Series.
  15. There are rules in Football that that prevents that happening,In general Team suits are good for the sport IMO.
  16. The fact is that the NL is not producing riders that can hold a place in PL even with a 3pt average.(couple of exceptions but even they were not an instant hit, onlyBoxall did the transition right away then he lost the plot)I agree that foriegners should be held on their assessed average till they fullfill it.
  17. Did the guys get a practice on the track not much being said.
  18. Perhaps their variety of phrases made the difference
  19. I think no studio chat was a bonus as it is just a boring time wasting exercise with Sky(same old everytme)
  20. Good light-hearted commentry from Wade and Johno.A few wee errors but still easy listening. Johno is is one of the best IMO. IMO too much track Prep in GP's just when the racing is kicking in they water the track and the processions start again .
  21. Definately one of the greatest riders to grace speedway, as a fan who saw him in action from his Provincial days right through his career he certainly was THE main attraction when he visited your track and certainly never let anybody down, the ulitimate professional who changed the sport IMO .
  22. I agree with you on this one, even if the sport reverts back to Semi Professional it would not effect the entertainment value IMO .
  23. I think discretion on the night would prevail in this situation, trivial really.
