  1. Berwick have a little bit of an obsession about being recognised by the F.I.M. And as the sports Governing body thanks fine, but the bottom line is the F.I.M.dont give a Sh#t about any Clubs.Self Interest is their main priority, while no one can legislate for the weather perhaps Berwick should tread carefully when getting involved in these events in the future. While the u/21 round was a very meaningful fixture in the context of the Competion and was brilliant, with 10 qualifiers going through to the next round I doubt that this meeting will have the same cut and thrust racing. The weather is playing havoc with the sport this season and ALL PROMOTERS have my sympathy they need better guidelines in place when these situations arise.Last night did not show the sport in good light, irrespective who was making the decisions.
  2. Think you will find it is Monday for that meeting(although there seems to be conflicting reports when it is)
  3. Buck passing IMO .the F.I.M. Regs were printed on this forum last week it was there in black and White but no one took any notice. What were the riders told when this meeting was switched,Bad day for Speedway .F.I.M must take the blame for not cancelling at Advertise start time.
  4. It's hard to believe that it can be reduce to a shambles like tonight .We all know that the weather is a major factor in the sport and if F.I.M. Can't get it right what chance have we got.Decision should have been make at Official Start.OFF or ON.end of story.People pay money to see Event start when they are advertised, they may have other arrangements based on that fact.Would they get their money back if the Meeting started 2hours late and they had to leave early.Farcical.
  5. Amazing how this can go ahead, still we were told it would not be off. Rosco will be confused now.Health and Safety and visibility don't seen to come into the equation when it suits.
  6. Think your missing something, but you never know with the weather.
  7. All of them,Berwick will have to make that there are no re-run heats involving Cook.
  8. Celebrations all round at the Showground!!!!!!!
  9. At home,I am talking away as Screm was implying in his post.
  10. A rash statement to make IMO,and not really nessasary.
  11. Not so sure, but as long as he takes care of the other Teams reserves he will be ok.Steen was taking care off the opposition Heat Leaders which is a hard act to follow.
  12. You obviously don't know much about modern goggle technology.
  13. That's one of the solutions if the powers at be would recognise that there are issues regarding running speedway in wet track conditions.Unfortunately their answer is abandon the meeting we've got the punters cash.
  14. I would like to pass on my condolences. To the Family of Tom Anderson our former Start Marshall ,he as a bit of a character and we had few laughs and jokes with him in the pits after the meetings. He will be sadly missed.
  15. Its not about living in the past, speedway is in dire state, there are lot of others things to replace it nowadays and a bit of damp weather has become a major issue in the sport ,some thing needs to be done the majority of the fans are not that gullible.Like has been pointed out in another these rain -off meeting will have be be run at the end of the season where if conditions are bad they will soldier on just to complete.Except there will be no one to watch the ways things are handled just now.
  16. I think your point regarding regarding meetings being called off without being completed is a valid point, people are fed up knowing if the weather is dodgy they will attempt to run 10 heats just to get a result that is short changing the paying public,if the meeting starts it should be run to a finish except in exceptional circumstances .Birmingham the other night had very little dirt and grading was a waste of time.We need dirt on the track and the riders to slow down if circumstances dictate.I remember the days when some riders liked a wet track.
  17. the latest Berwick newsletter says that last weeks match at Plymouth was Jensen last match at reserve.
  18. waste of time these days trying to improve track conditions 1/2 the riders won't like ,away Team probably want to ride,Home probably won't,Ref will panic over Health and Safety, call it off anyway .the sport is in turmoil these days regarding Weather and track conditions.Even I have second thoughts if I think there is going to be a SPOT of rain these days.
