  1. They have ,but if they have a bit of bad luck not getting some fixtures in they could finish out of the top 3 which would leave them vulnerable as the top 3 get to pick their opposition from the next 3 (I believe)Ps having just read the rules,it is the Teams that finish 1st and 2nd after the first fixtures get to select the 2 Teams that will be in their section, and the 2 group winners contest the Final to decide Champs.
  2. Sad news remember him well in his Canterbury days in old NL.Think he was champ one year if my memory is right.
  3. Are you trying to say that only 1Team has fixture difficulties. On paper even Berwick have 14 fixtures to complete by the cut -off date sept 14th
  4. Just maybe we should start the season with the league fixtures as it is the main event of the season,or is that too complicated.
  5. I agree with your point regarding doubling up ,The Promoters just make it more complicated every year.Dont things will change for the better in the near future though. They don't seem to understand the the average fan just want to see 7 riders that ride for their Team.,not for every Team in the League.
  6. You won't have any I assume, the Teams that have them will qualify for play -offs
  7. He never paid the fine that was imposed, and the ban was extended I believe.
  8. Kennet made a quick recovery, did he not fancy Somerset .
  9. Think he will prove a lot of doubters wrong ,one thing for sure he will entertain on what I have seen of him in action and that's what you pay to see.
  10. I think it would be good to award a bonus point for every heat winner, but not added into to score until after the meeting has finished not to interfere with qualifying points on the night.eg Woffy scores 13 points on the night but had won 3 heats so he gets an extra 3 points on his total after the meeting has finished =16ptsMight make them fight for the heat win instead of settling for 2nd in some instances.Only a suggestion.
  11. While the club has done well to survive since it's out set, particularly during recent times when the sport of speedway in General is in decline,it is still the same catchment area that seen the Club well supported through its initial years in the 60/s 70/s .it is interesting that the Taylor's who brought the Sport to Berwick actually came from Jedburgh, having supported Berwick since the Opening of the club I think in the early years and even up to the end of the Fairbairn era a majority of the fans came from the Borders Area andSouthern Scotland in particular.I read the Ken Taylor was going to be a guest of the Promotion he would be a great guy to tell the history of the early years of the club and it's support .I my self have memories of the Christmas Dances that were run by the BorderBranch Swinton which were sell outs without fail every year.It would be interesting to know how many Branches of the there were in the Borders in these days . The club is having good season but unfortunately the support is still just the hardcore, think most clubs are in the same boat. Will these heady days ever return for speedway.?
  12. All these counter attractions have been around as long as the Speedway.
  13. hoping for aBerwick win tonight, but really has the sport any credibility with these crazy guest rules which always seem open to different interpretations of what should be riding or what guest facility should be used.
  14. Unfortunately many other fans share your view of guests myself included ,the sport needs to get its house in order. It really is just 4men on 4bikes doing 4laps.
  15. How do you figure that out if you don't know what he has heard!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I think the genuine 6-7 pointer foreigners aren't really interested in British Speedway these days.Better money to be made elsewhere .Watching all the young talent at Berwick u/21 round last year you knew fine that you would not see any in the PL.
  17. True, but even his interview was bit laid back.Dont get me wrong think Woffy is a class act but not sure what he is thinking regarding Wolves this season,he hasn't been great IMO .He made it look good on Monday.
  18. It's a good team on paper but like you say they can't get all the riders to perform on the same day, really Glasgow are there for the taking and you got stuffed.Thats Speedway though.
  19. PK is going to damage his Legend status at Monmore if that's the best he can do,Woffy just doesn't looked interested.
  20. the Refs are too Inconsistant with this delaying the start lark.Tell the Team Managers before the meeting what he expects, exclude the 1st gardener and things will settle down.
