  1. Here's my take on Berrington.I was told that it was modelled on Mildenhall for size and shape.Considering the amount of land they had I feel if the straights had been 10-15 Mtrs longer it would have been perfect.there was some great meetings at Berrington and when we went 1st Division the racing move up a notch with the Top Men showing how it is done.Pity Terry Lindon was just a con man.I witnessed the facts that Taffy alluded to with Scott Lamb and Knight being payed there wages in petty cash in a bag!!! Of coins. It was a pity that it was so far of the beaten track as I'm sure it would have attracted more support if it was easier to reach with public transport. It was a good little set up though a really neat and tidy considering where it was.Wonder how much my share are worth now!!!!!!!!!.Away to get a financial Times.! Ps The training track was very seldom used IMO ,it was just a small circle scraped out at the back of the 1st /2nd bend.
  2. It's a TOTAL farce in my view, but it's probably 50/50 in blame game stakes,Havvy certainly didn't give any indication that they had NOTHING to do with track prep.he actually praised Terry (whoever that is) for getting the track into shape.Watching on Tele fans probably did not realise how bad the weather was till they saw Tatum getting blown away when the cameras switch to him.
  3. I am afraid the Go speed statement is nothing but a Fairy Story, they think they can treat the fans like mugs.
  4. If they are going to start cancelling 48hrs before the event speedway is in a lot of bother. If Promoters follow suit we will be lucky to see a meeting.
  5. What a load of Boll#cks, trying to cancel 48 hrs before event,If you believe that you will believe anything.Honest Guv nothing to do with us!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I remember him winning the Scottish Open Championship in 1965 at Old Meadowbank,a very neat and stylish rider.
  7. Janowski is the real deal ,totally in control and stylish.Lambert a lucky lad hope he is Ok,improving all the time IMO ,at least he gives it 100% .
  8. It is unclear at this moment how long Vissing will be out though,if it is just another month we would surely wait for him to return.Difficult one for the Promotion IMO
  9. Nobody likes R/r but I think the trouble with Vissing could be if he is out longer than a month and you replace him you might not be able to get him back in if the averages change (in the wrong direction)without dropping someone else if the signed riders ride well.Difficult one because Claus is definitely above his average in home meetings and can ill afford to lose him.We shall see.
  10. thread should be retitled Poole v Kings Lynn Select.!
  11. Agree, this will show who can step up to the plate when it matters.Fancy Sheffield for a decent size win.
  12. Agree, their judgement should not be subject to "you have never ridden a bike "which seem to be the case nowadays.
  13. I agree, the Ref's are not strong enough these days, riders and Team Managers harass them too much. The point being that it is seldom the riders and Team Managers agree just like Monday purely because of self interest and score at the time.Speedway is a dangerous sport but that card is used too often now.Watt would moan if the track was perfect ,he didn't even have any opposition and he was telling how hard it was.Tiddlywinks springs to mind!!!!. No fan in their right mind will turn up on a wet night if they had any sense .just to watch a squabble between Managers, riders and officials.
  14. Dont think that applies to injured riders.
  15. Not a lot that we can afford IMO .there are a few though.Pepe would do a job but don't think he is interested.
  16. Its all fine and well discussing 10 heat matches and who gets what points,What about the fans what should they get in return when this happens, as usual treated like sh#t.Not good enough.
  17. He is in the Stal Squad this season .He practiced there with them at their Squad day.
  18. Nothing to moan about for a few weeks due to lack of fixtures.still no doubt we will be back in full swing before the season is out.
  19. Worcrow and Torun respectively for them
  20. If I remember rightly he did not walk out that day after the thunderstorm!!!!!!!!
