Depends on the format,is it 5rides and top points wins,or semi final and final which could throw up an odd result, Wajtknecht could spring a surprise.Clegg or Bates are my choice if Bates can stay on and not take anybody out in his style.Hope Liam has a good one though.
Im surprised that Harris was chosen as test rider ,he has struggled with set ups most of his career and I can't see what his technical expertise would be .
The Promotion have not given out any information about this situation so we don't know how many ideas were put forward ,like you say it was not only the financial side that help was being sought. The "experts" might still be waiting for a reply for all we know.
In the 70's Berwick had a number of Div1 stars in match races, not sure if Collins was involved but don't think so.Briggs Mauger McMillan are one that I can remember but there were more.
Len is good at that ,his reply in the letters page of SS to a fan about the state of the Kent track was nothing short of downright arrogance ,belittling the fans opinion.
Thats is certainly one thing that has dogged the present Promotion since they took over, they have have no luck at all with riders getting injured ,they have my sympathy on that front.
I agree with you ,car sport and bike sport have introduced mechanical measures to try and reduce speeds on circuits(of course tuners then work to get round these changes) and it has made the bikes safer to ride at high speeds, speedway has done nothing except introduce silencers with judging by riders comments make the bikes very unpredictable to ride.Something has to be done IMO .
I have no problem with Ben going elsewhere for the reasons given, but I find it hard to fathom his interview on centre green, why he just didn't explain the possibility of him to another club if he felt fit enough.I can't believe that either him or the Berwick management had no idea this was possibility .A lot of fans will feel let down by the way it was conducted.
