  1. Football!! Offside and handball are observations ,not knowing who should be allowed on the pitch might be more comparable and you don't see that in football.Speedway just invents its own problems every season,it never learns!! It's just a pity the the all the refs don't know the rules in what is meant to be a professional sport.
  2. If the rule is quite clear why the the Ref at the Berwick match interpretate it different from the Berwick Team Manager.Ps It would appear the man in charge of the meeting got it wrong then, typical these days. First check would be what Ref is in charge of the meeting though (just in case)!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Its pathetic really the people running the sport can interpretate the rules differently.Like you say only in speedway.
  4. Just my opinion,no axe to grind with Hall although I don't think he is wanting to help them for the good of his health and I pretty sure he would not have been turning up for expenses and £5 a point which was mooted when the league was formed. The league was formed to help encourage new young riders into the sport not to subsidise older riders on the way down. The sport has lost its way and now teams in NL have to win at all costs and make money and certainly some Teams are pay riders silly money in relation to their talent .Teams like Birmingham,Cradley & Eastbourne should be in Pl like Buster states in SS this week.I admit I an very disillusioned and sad to to a great sport being run into the ground and don't see much light at the end of the tunnel. The promoters have to stop paying out money that the don't have.It is obvious that some clubs have people in the background "helping" them out financially ,and speedway fans are very generous when asked to "save the club" by putting their hands in their pocket, but that is not a good situation to be in IMO .
  5. Hall is just another money grabbing rider, anything for a fast buck, moaning about his financial outlay as though the sport owes him a living when in the last few years he has been more interested Long Track.like Buster says these teams offering riders like Hall money should be moving up aLeague as they are clearly not interested in young riders if it means losing, which is to what not the NLis meant to be about.
  6. You will just be watching a Newcastle "select" most of the season.Mickey mouse sport.
  7. I think Glasgow promotion were expecting a lot more out of Barker than what he is producing, averages don't tell everything IMO .He is not producing away from home which is vital for Glasgow because they went for a big top 4.
  8. Wish Seb a speedy recovery, the jinx of Berwick No1's strikes again.
  9. If hat is the case I don't think practicing on a speedway bike is a good form of exercise for building leg muscles.!
  10. Was not aware of the nature of his injury, how can you even contemplate making a return after a couple of weeks if it is as serious an injury, like he did.Ps That's not the question I was asking.
  11. is Mellgren still in the equation if he returns to fitness though?
  12. To be fair the refs reflexes were quicker than Hans for stopping the race, look a decent start from Hans to me.If a rider make a better start than the rest without moving the Refs pull them back nowadays.
  13. The Bandits were gating superbly, got a lot of 5-0's and won by a cricket score .Happy Days ,Dick was in his element.
  14. At Berwick the big stadium and small crowd you could count them if you were that way inclined, most tracks I have attended regular in recent season certain have smaller attendances than previous .Imo
  15. there was a fair contingent of Sheffield fans there on Sat
  16. Lawson has talent and at 29 could still be a decent rider if he put his mind to it ( However it is a big IF).
  17. Its the crowd levels in the sport that worry for me,that wasn't a big crowd last week for what on paper was decent fixture. Can we survive on that level of support .
  18. What's the point,we look at new talent then let them sign for other clubs, recent examples being Coty Garcia and Jake Allen.
  19. Sadly I think Chris is past his best.Freddie has certainly got a new lease of life.
  20. He is certainly showing Harris if you have the right people round about you to help with set -ups it could make a difference
  21. It the same set of riders so what is the difference who he puts where? .Imo if Wethers is not reserve we could struggle in the reserve department if Liam's injury keeps him out any length of time as he ( Wethers)is meant to be a key man in the reserve berth this season. We were not expecting him to be challenged for that position surely.!!
  22. Its starting to get(even more) farcical when you can get a guest for your No8.
