  1. Unfortunately it's only the fans that think track preparation is not up to scratch a lot of the time.
  2. He done the same move when at Berwick couldn't be bothered making the effort,it's in the rules that they can have a day off if they want.
  3. Like people are pointing out it has to come down a level to give the sport a chance to recover. That is my opinion too.
  4. Like you say life goes ,but I'm afraid your comparison to Newcastle United is naive and not comparable to speedway in general. You seem to take the same view as your fellow "dirt" columnist Mr Barrie regarding "old" fans saying we really need to forget about them and we need to look to the future attracting new fans and intimating we have everything in place with our " children go free" in place hoping to convert them in later years which is excellent ,unfortunately IMO the problem is who pays the riders for next 6-8-10 years till these children start paying at the gate, if they stick around .Also a lot of the missing fans in recent season were not the "die-hards" yearning for the " heydays" but people who no longer think the entertainment value does match the cost.I have attended Berwick since it opened in 1968 and still see most of that generation that are still with us and their families still on the terraces ,the bottom line is we are not attracting a new generation of Adults.Speedway is in difficult place and most of the problems are discussed on various forums, unfortunately it is just social media and will not solve anything. It is up to the sports Governing bodies to sort it out.Unfortunatly IMO they are struggling.
  5. Mark Riss is very Inconsistant IMO.( from race to race) but we will have to wait and see.Jye is worth taking a chance on for some of the other Teams IMO .
  6. Think the ref should issue warning for riders that move back from tapes after the start Marshall moves the forward into position ,it happens frequently while the ref turn away to deal with the other riders, there should be procedure for lining them up bring them forward in gate order 1-4 and if they move back warn then for the rest of the meeting. If no rider touches the tapes do not stop the race. While the ref at Cardiff was shocking he did admit his mistake when he look at video replay, most meetings don't have that option and the split second reaction often gets penalised for a perfect start.we had all witnessed perfectly good starts being brought too often.
  7. It's a bit of a struggle to find that person though to keep the status quo.
  8. Think you will find that he belonged to Poole.
  9. Bit harsh on Jye IMO .Seemed to be doing ok.Behind the scenes maybe!!
  10. Article is SS says nerve damage, return "on hold" but admitting this season " unlikely .
  11. At least he is supporting the Sport and not walking away from it like a lot of fans.Should be commended IMO.
  12. Reading Godfreys article in the SS it looks like when he sobered up after the AGM he realised the rest had just pulled a flanker on him ,but has just brassed it out hoping it would sort it's self out. Bad luck Rob,it hasn't.
  13. Berwick do pull in a lot of youngsters, here's hoping they become long term fans though.Being a Sat track is a big help in that respect IMO
  14. Then again how good is the quality of the steak they are serving at your club.
  15. Agree, think his racing schedule seems to catch up with him once his foreign commitments kick in.Just piling up the cash though.
  16. There are no easy solutions for the problems the sport is facing, but a good start would be sorting out the entertainment value by giving the riders a decent track to race on.No excuses ,like Batchelor says they just come up with excuses regarding this matter. The Team at Berwick have lived up to expections for most fans this season but the entertainment factor has dropped IMO .At least we won't have to suffer the cold dark nights this season.Saving on Electricity too, that will be a bonus for the Promotion.
  17. That's the problem with averages, they keep lowering them making riders like Sarjeant popular, averages are not the way forward IMO.Nothing will change though.!
  18. Doyle. Is currently outside top 8,given his injuries and lack of top form this year he might required a wild card!!
  19. Your season has been ruined by inept performances from Worrell and Harris in most meetings when it mattered. That put a lot of pressure on the rest.
  20. Don't think you will an answer from Promotions or people running Clubs unfortunately, the fans only get told anything when more money is required.Imo the financial situation has to have taken a hit Judgeing by crowd levels now.
  21. Not a Sarjeant fan but his 3 race wins on Friday cost Berwick some away Points, its a bit like watching Dany G at Edin and Newcastle .
  22. Riders like Schlien are well paid for going through the motions, miss the gate and don't bother much as they might make the gate in the next one.
