  1. Perhaps he would not have turned away if he had seen a clock counting down, the start marshals have thankless job trying to get the riders to come into line a clock would solve that problem too.
  2. Agree, but I think Centre Green clock should be made compulsory at all tracks and riders ready to race rule before time up should be introduced.A lot of refs flash the green lights as a warning but not all do it ,which is an anomaly .
  3. The promotion must be wondering what they can ,given the season the Comets are having, although the fixture list has been a nightmare for them.
  4. well done to the Comets, they will still be racing at Christmas the way they keep on winning
  5. There is nothing wrong with the Edinburgh track regarding shape or size, just takes abit of skill to master it.
  6. A lot of riders just wanted to leave the meeting in the Van they came in and in one piece.( this is not a critisisum of the track, just the riders mentallity)
  7. Financially on only Glasgow could compete with the " big boys" any other Teams would just be making up the numbers and whipping boys IMO .(take Leicester as an example of recent seasons).Personaly I think 1 League split North and South.just my opinion sure it won't happen though. If Teams you mention have to weaken to compete in lower division they would not survive on current rider demands as I can't see crowd levels increasing.
  8. If there is to be 2nd Brit he deserves a shot.IMO
  9. I not saying they should they shouldn't be riding in NL the concern would be can the league afford them.Ive no idea what money they will be on ,but sure it's not peanuts. There was talk of £10 / pt years ago, they certainly won't be riding for that( the majority).what are crowd levels at NL tracks?
  10. I agree with another poster thought Allitt was just trying to stop another mechanic getting involved. But hey ho ,you need abit of excitement these days as the racing at most venues these days has very little going for it.
  11. You would think WW3 had broke out the way this has been discussed it last about 10 seconds
  12. It's hard to tell how many NEW fans the sport is attracting but you can see by the crowd levels that we are losing a lot of OLD fans for various reasons, and just muddling along paying out more money every season. Its not going to end well for a lot of clubs. In the late 60's the National League was introducing and brought a lower level of competition and was an entry for young riders which was well supported and meaningful, now it seems we're just trying to reduced a lot of the sport to a lower level for financial reasons and expecting the fans to stump up to watch riders taking Promotions to the cleaners, will no real throughs for anybody but themselves and its wearing thin IMO .
  13. Agree, deep down you know another sticking plaster job coming up.
  14. Think you can add afew more names to your list as to who can be expected to compete. Just making the PL 8 teams does not solve any problems.
  15. It's typical that the Premier only interested in themselves ,as I said before .Tou can Imagine Glasgow taking the chance because of the backing behind them, but there is no way they will run at a profit as things stand in the sport.Think most fans can see what's coming another shambles.
  16. Wonder what Teams they will attempt to sucker this time ,just like they did in the early 90's. Call their bluff and tell them they have to move down would be my answer.Desperate times for speedway in GB.
  17. Agree, there is is some cracking talent coming through, what kind of money are they on at present?,then you have Roynon ,Clegg,Cockle,Bowen,Davey,Hopwood,Wilson,Shuttleworth,Atkins,Perry,Morley,Basbyall making up the numbers and probably getting decent money which hikes up admission prices .When you look at Buxton over the years they are the one team who tried to do it right and have paid the price.
  18. It's certainly no Development League when you see some of the riders still hanging about in it.Bet hey are not riding for peanuts, that's why admission money is so high.
  19. Always has been their way out of trouble, trouble is there is a big injury list these days and still growing.
  20. Regarding riders availability Poland and Sweden pretty much rap up this weekend do they not?
  21. The way things are going it might not be that"fake".its hard to see the fixtures getting complete in time unless they run them all in the last week.
