Interesting ,Ihave just finished reading the latest book Saving Speedway( an excellent read ).Reg Fearman in the Postscript highlighted the fact that at the end of 1964 when the Provincial League had broke away and got blacklisted,the Promoters got together again in December to discuss the way forward.There was only 6 Teams left in the big League(National League) and there was 12 Teams in the Provincial League which was starting to thrive.The result was leagues merged to form the British League of 18 Teams.History repeats itself today with only 7 Teams in Premier and 12 in Championship. Another amalgamation! Maybe ,(Fearmans words). IMO we could do worse.!!

Unfortunately there are no big TVDeals and Wealthy benefactors to help out Speedway.It’s like the secret service regarding TV money,where it goes and who benefits.

Without the support of fans and Supporter Club initiatives raising money there would not be many Clubs viable these days.Gate receipts and sponsors are not enough to support the outlay.

Agree,but don’t think that’s is where East End Fan is referring to,as we are talking about UK speedway.

“In certain areas Speedway thrives.” That’s the best one I’ve heard for a while.

Judging by the way the fans are disappearing ,I suspect the latter.

These people will be sitting in their house though,and the problem is the sport is not attracting any people to replace them.

As per Topic Heading so was British Speedway.

It’s always been it’s our money and it’s our ball.They never seem to see the big picture.Short Term thinking is all they see.

Just got the Teams and Riders to sort now then.

Like you say when 2020 season was written off in the summer that’s when things for 2021 should have been put in place.As usual the Chairman was too busy making sure Scunthorpe was running Mickey Mouse meetings every week.Think it was obvious in March the season wasn’t going to happen.

Read that.We need to get them to make up their mind though, the ball always seems to be in the riders court these days.Poland aren’t going to messed about with the money they are offering.Interesting times.!

It’s just a case of wait and see.GB don’t seem to be pro- active in securing deals and signing riders.Nobody seems to know what is happening next season yet.we need to put pressure on riders to make up their mind instead of waiting to see who’s left over.

The BSPA just create their own problems.IMO.If the Promotions had already been told that they would be able to field the same riders for next season they should not go back on their word.If there are stronger Teams in the league so be it.Teams on paper don’t win anything it’s on the track that matters.

Who cares what you think. The people are just letting Philip know the service is not working as it should be.Your the expert it seems though.

Not much hope for my Star arriving anytime soon

No sign of Star this week.

Think the pressure of the sport gets to him quite a lot of the time ,so maybe the break will help.I think he has probably realised his level.Never mentioned if he had employment this year.

That’s Cook though,he has mental issues hovering over him.His main one is that he is not as good as he thinks he is.There is always something to make an excuse about.
