  1. Given the average age of a speedway supporter, I fear attendances will struggle to return to normal after this pandemic.Age and Employment will be a big factor.Certainly can’t afford to charge the current admission prices if they “ water down “the Leagues like they are hinting. While I am not against a revamp with young riders given their chances ,but they should not be paying “ silly money for them to ride, things have to put into perspective.IMO.
  2. That’s probably above the normal attendance level at most Tracks, so we should be OK then to return to normal.
  3. Always a good read,I enjoy the winter articles, brings back memories.
  4. Some teams might need changes ,but is their any justification for changing points limit.Personally I don’t think so.
  5. Agree, that type of situation is not an isolated incident.I know of a few examples where the Promoters with the most “influence “ on BSPA have tried to “pull a fast one” regarding use of riders and rules.
  6. The people making the day to day decisions have proved they can’t see the problems in the sport. That’s why nothing will change for the better. It’s “their ball though” and nobody else is getting a look in.Personaly can’t see much of a revival happening in the sport.(happy to be proved wrong though).
  7. I agree,They don’t seem to understand how “Mickey Mouse” the sport looks to outsiders.Independent Body is the the first thing that needs sorting, but that will never happen.IMO. You only have to look at Godfrey he is happy running all the amateur meetings all through the year generating income “stuff the rest of them” I’m all right attitude.
  8. IMO the sensible thing would have been to refund everyone and start with a clean sheet when everything is confirmed for next year.
  9. Originally 31st Oct,but then up to 30days after when the new date was Officially released. It does say you would be contacted.
  10. We need to have a look at ourselves instead of moaning about what the Poles are doing.Sort ourselves out .
  11. Possibly , but they haven’t.No good waiting around for that happen like we have with everything.Far too much self interest as we all know.
  12. It doesn’t seem to be just Online abuse the way it reads.
  13. Mines arrived Friday, think we just have to accepted the situation as it’s obvious the Post Office are the problem, good to see the Star doing it’s best in difficult situation.Well Done.
  14. I find it hard to disagree with what he says. That’s it in a nutshell IMO.
  15. Did PC not fall-out with them over who should be allowed free admission,a few years back.
  16. IMO the failure to recognise the problem has been obvious to many fans ,over the last few years. The problem I see regarding riders trying to further their career and establish themselves abroad(and earn very good money)is that the names I am seeing will struggle to get regular Team slots especially in Poland ( only my opinion) and have they the financial backing to support themselves. They have commit full time to GB Team first and foremost. There are are lot of weekend Clubs in the Chamionship and that might be a problem for them.We don’t want to start using guests for missing riders abroad in the Championship.Would like to know what they are being told regarding missing fixtures in Poland if they get called in a short notice.I assume they are getting some sort of signing on fee or retainer.I know that a few years back Marcin Rempala would have liked to come to Berwick, but he was earning more sitting in pits not getting a ride for his Polish Club and they wouldn’t let him commit to GB
  17. It must be frustrating for SS, but at least it’s off season and fans are not really missing too much, some nice articles though, keep up the good work in difficult times.
  18. Just tell all these riders that fancy Poland “off you go” and build our leagues without them ,we need to start at the bottom again anyway, it was all getting out of hand before the Pandemic.
  19. Being as it’s meant to be a loan, you can see why.
  20. Fail to see what Mike Hiftle has got to do with this thread.Just a bit of a stir I assume.
  21. Not received my copy till Sat ,the last 2 weeks, probably the Local Post Office. Not got this weeks copy yet.
  22. Condolences to his family. Was he involved in the Felton Training track a number of years ago ?
