They don’t see to be able recognise the obvious.The riders that can’t make 1 League pay just need to retire and get a proper job for less money.It’s laughable that they will work for Tesco when they can’t earn from Speedway yet just moan they can’t make a living from the sport.Give them a tenner an hour for their Time at Speedway meeting.Wages have to be in line with Crowd Levels or there will be nobody left in 10 years.

As daft as you if you think Speedway Promotions pay Council full rent and don’t use the facility for 6 months.In Berwick’s case ( Council Owned)your not telling me that the Football pay 12 months full rent for 6 months use and Ditto the Speedway.I’m sure there is deal struck that suits them both.

Think amalgamation should have taken place few seasons ago when it was obvious the difference between the leagues was narrowing,might have still be able to tempt decent foreigners to stay in UK,but they just kept reducing averages and finished up paying mediocre riders more money ,and running out of decent standard of riders.

That’s fair enough but at Redcar the price they pay for a12 month lease will be based on the fact that they run a lot of Training days and Amateur Meetings.Most other tracks dont have any winter activity.I’m sure the lease price will reflect that fact.

I think it’s because their average doesn’t matter as they can only be replaced by a rising star or R/R.

Should have ran in the NDL given the circumstances ,decent fans would have supported it in the hope they could move up again if viable in a couple of seasons.Plymouth seem to have done ok with that scenario.Berwick also done it in the 90/s

Let’s face itö crowds at Birmingham,Newcastle and Eastbourne are going to double overnight therefore it is just a case of limiting losses or finding a major sponsor to bail them out.Not looking great but only they know the financial situation they are in.

Find it hard to believe that Monarchs Promotion think that Crang is the answer to reserve slot .Luke Ruddick would be the Luke I would have went for if available.

Who and what are they going to run on a speedway track in the winter and if stock car people want to run it is compatible to share the facilities with speedway Promotions.

It has certainly lost its appeal to 50/50 committed folk,the rider situation is farcical, people are just not seeing it as Professional Sport these day and are not going to spend that amount of money to keep many riders in a good little earner. There is no easy solution,but there is not much urgency to do any thing about attendances not being able to match rider costs .Some of the “ middle of the road Teams” get by on supporter hand outs and muddle along but sooner or later that will run dry as there is not a lot of new fans being attracted. So sad for a great sport.(If your a fan).

Feel for Granty,he got sold a pup.Trouble is all your Posts on here won’t help the situation one bit as most of fans the forum are regular attenders.The sport is in trouble but the people running the sport seem to think everything is rosy ,fans donations are propping up majority of Clubs.Perhaps Granty maybe should have started in NDL and built up from there.Only my opinion.Certainly doesn’t sound good for Newcastle and Birmingham given the financial climate at this present moment.
