  7. Not sure for Czech republic, but I assume they will stick with their currency - just like we Slovenians won't change Slovenian tolars to euros until 2007.
  8. I have one too. In addition to moving riders to their next heats, it also produces final standings table and calculates how good gate positions were. If you want I can send it to you.

  15. Jeffster, just to correct you - it was a practice crash, not a first race crash. Four Czech riders went from the start (Tomicek, Linhart, Jaros and Stichauer) and it got really tight in first bend which led to Linhart and Tomicek colliding.
  16. Lonigo certainly appear to have the strongest team in Italy this season, OA.... Yes, Lonigo is the strongest Italian team, but the problem is, how many of their riders are Italian? Zambon and Tessari and then ??? Other teams have much better home riders, but don't spend as much money on foreigners.

  18. Jeffster, as far as I know, Ferjan doesn't want to have any connection with slovenian speedway. After heavy dispute with his club from Ljubljana, he decided not to ride in Slovenia again. In fact both other clubs Krsko and Lendava offered him a place in their lineups, but he refused that.
  19. Reading's star and Slovenian champion Matej Zagar won 1st round of 2004 Slovenian championship. He was only defeated once in the whole meeting - slovenian vice champion Izak Santej beat him in heat 13. Second place went to former King's Lynn and Oxford rider Jernej Kolenko. This is one the best results for Jernej in slovenian championship rounds and after 3 years he finally managed to beat Santej in the A final. Izak Santej was having some problems with his eyes, but still finished in pretty solid 3rd place. Surprise of the day was Primoz Legan who qualified for A final (only for the 2nd time in his career) and finished in fourth place. As it has been practice for the last few seasons, first match of the season is always full of crashes. Today we saw 2 pretty nasty ones. In heat 3 15 year old Matic Voldrih (riding in 1st official meeting of his career) made an excellent gate and was leading for 3 laps, but at one moment he was just going to fast and he hit the fence pretty hard. The outcome - broken collarbone. And we saw even more horrifying crash in heat 9. Stanko Glavan was riding in 2nd place behind Ales Kraljic. As Glavan wanted to catch Kraljic, he just wanted to much and totally overcooked it in 2nd bend of lap 2. He almost stopped, but then Ivan Vargek came from behind and hit Glavan, who was then catapulted straight into the fence with full speed. Uff, one of the nastiest crash I've seen in recent years. Glavan was then taken to hospital, but miraculously first reports from the hospital stated that he didn't sustained any major injuries and should recover very soon. Here are full details : Qualifying heats: Heat 1: Kolenko, Stojs, Legan, Kraljic Heat 2: Santej, Mikolajczak, Pavlic, Secnik F Heat 3: Vargek, Strahija, Sobocan F, Voldrih Fx Heat 4: Zagar, Stefani, Glavan, Oto *Stefani gated and Zagar had to work hard from behind to pass Stefani on the finish line.
