  1. My feeling is that a few of them prefer it that way and feel that part of the challenge of being a successful promoter is finding and exploiting the loop holes fans are just expected to lump it. Many promotions and their hangers on still have to wake up to the Internet revolution and realise the days of fans just lumping it because they have no place to air their views are gone
  2. So prove me wrong....put up or shut up. But then it's just easier to deflect, some people excel in that. Poor baldy man seems to be getting labelled part of the Edinburgh Mafia now too...
  3. We may often disagree on speedway cyclone but when it comes down to the 'I know something you don't cos I'm important ' posts we are singing from the same hymn sheet. If people aren't willing to post and name the source it just makes them look stupid when they come away with that line.
  4. Well you could say he proved you wrong but not in the way you hoped!
  5. With GP coming up this weekend I've been trying to find the sky promo video on you tube that Shazzy was on but couldnt One of a kind, passionate, straight as a die, life and soul of the party and hundreds of other good things could be said about Shazzy. Seems hard to believe and is so unfair. Hope everyone going to Cardiff, especially those close to her, are able to celebrate in Shazzy style and in her memory. RIP Shazzy and thoughts are with the many many friends and family missing her xx
  6. theres being gracious in defeat and then...... Berwick could only beat what was in front of them and that they did. job done for them and well done Berwick on a deserved victory
  7. Thanks guys I thought there had to be something but wasnt sure what. Something sticks in my head about Gino riding in the Aus state titles as an overseas rider a couple of years ( or more? ) ago as well but even if he got top 4 in that I take it that it wouldnt count!
  8. Is there an equivalent to the 'top 4 in a state title' eligibility criteria for Americans?
  9. As you say 'you would like to think....' But the bottom line is we don't know! It's not unknown for little agreements like this to be made between promoters
  10. I could be wrong Gaz but the way I read it what Rob is saying was that the gentleman s agreement was made to allow Glasgow to sign David Howe earlier. If that's the case and it was agreed at that time under gentle mans agreement that in allowing Glasgow to sign Howe Glasgow would use r/r for James then it is totally irrelevant from the point of the teams for Scunthorpe as to wether James is now injured or not. That's almost a smokescreen. I'm sure Rob will correct me if I am wrong but I get the impression the issue is not James as such but the David Howe agreement which Scunthorpe feel was renaiged on.
  11. are the teams not declared 3 days in advance or am I imagining that? If so, then he was not injured at the time it was declared and was technically riding elsewhere so they would have the guest facility. If Glasgow and Coventry were both riding on Saturday however, he was already injured so it would be r/r. I think! lol
  12. The pedant in me really wants to point out they're not in the same sentence.....lol
  13. I think you are expecting too much MD. Dishington is still trying to figure out the old rules and I could swear he keeps looking for a man in black with a whistle on the centre green to make the decision for him
  14. Not doubting anything here but whoever drew up that clause and used the word 'may' in the final sentence certainly left it open to accusations of applying the rules depending on the individual team concerned. Hardly makes professional or non ambiguous reading! I certainly wouldn't call it 'clear' .
  15. You have to hand it to the Monarchs, they said they would bounce back and they seem to have done it in style!
  16. You are on the wrong thread..the meeting was at Glasgow
  17. And often you would be sitting in the car park with your wipers going full bung when it was posted!
  18. Agree SCB and his whole attitude was first class, came across well off track and very honest. A few of the prima donnas in GB speedway could learn a lot from him
  19. But then people wouldn't be able to twist and manipulate it for their own ends and agendas Rob.....
  20. Is that a Scream full of Screms? A Gaggle full of Screms? A Murder full of Screms? A Beer full of Screms....or should that be Screm full of beer? #sillysunday
  21. Last one I remember being named was James McBain back in I think it was Nicks first season. If clubs name a no 8 it's a shame that's not included on the BSPA listings under the team then we'd know!
  22. What no 8? I can only remember one season when a number 8 was actually named and that was a few years ago
  23. Makes Glasgow a lot stronger at Ashfield imo......r/r always seemed the best option at home for Nick given the home form of the majority of the other riders
