  1. Baffling why they don't do this.... Goes back to their lack of marketing capability I would think.. You could even run it early and help launch the season with a "bang".. The top 15 GB riders from last year, plus a wildcard in Lambert... The winner of the GP place then gets to plan for the GP's much earlier, and spends the whole of the season selling himself to sponsors, and being referred to at every meeting, as the British Champion...

  2. I don't know why they don't try holding it on a Sunday. Pick a date that clashes with one of the Polish finals (3 to choose from) pretty sure there won't be any Extraliga matches on those days. Put it on at 3pm to attract fans from further away?

  3. Quite a lot of work going on around the Iwade track getting it ready for the Kent Eagles debut next month. Some hard graft being done.

  4. Morning Steve Bit of a story on that one buddy and as much as I enjoyed my Speedway, that enthusiasm has been well and truly snuffed out... last meeting we attended was Torun September 2022 and since then we've become the consummate armchair fans... Regards THJ

  5. I did read somewhere that Virgin were giving free TNT Sports to some customers in contract as compensation for the loss of the Eurosport channels.

  6. This should be fun and now less than 2 weeks away. How many sleeps before speedway restarts 🤣🤣

  7. I’ve just re-negotiated my Sky package to include TNT. This, for no more than I was paying. Polite negotiation, saying that they took away important channels and you have to pay to replace what you like on them. Price actually was less than I was paying. Speedway and Champions League. What’s not to like.

  8. Wasn't sure if this is of interest but just in case. For anyone traveling possibly up to Foxhall from the London/Essex areas that from March 10th until mid June there will be various lane closures at Gallows Corner but the main bit is from Mid JUNE until SEPTEMBER Gallows Corner Flyover and the roundabout below it will be completely closed to all traffic apart from emergency vehicles and buses. If your using that route might be best to start looking at best alternatives for your journey.

  10. Looking forward to our now customary KO Cup 1st round against one of the title favourites (unless it’s us of course). Considering it’s a random draw we’ve had terrible luck in drawing the toughest of opponents so early every time. Always having the second leg away doesn’t help either (see 2024). Looks like the swings & roundabouts are broke. Can’t see us progressing due to the strength of the witches. We need to make use of our massive home advantage* to build up a big lead. Using BSPL figures from last season our rider averages at home are a healthy 42.83 (equates to a 46 match score) so if we build a big enough lead we can take advantage at Foxhall where their rider averages at home are only 49.52 (equates to a 53 match score). *copywrite BSF

  12. One good thing about Eurosport no longer in existence is unless we pay for TNT we will be spared endless hours of boring tennis, the dreariest pastime ever grace the world but one that Eurosport jizzes over

  13. That's a hell of a line-up for a club's individual meeting. Considering that Belle Vue have 2 GPs, they now have all of the 3 strongest meetings in Britain 2025.

  14. Incredibly difficult to predict opening meetings when you have no kind of form guide. In theory Ipswich should comfortably win the tie on aggregate because they have a better side, that’s a fact. BUT, Ipswich have more questions that need answering than Belle Vue. Has King’s hand surgery worked? Or will he still be heavily restricted in his movement? Doyle’s first competitive meeting for nearly a year, will he be sharp or sluggish. You never know how riders start the season either, even world class riders. Emil last year had all sorts of issues mechanically and didn’t get going for a couple of months. He inevitably found the solutions and started blitzing everybody again but it just shows it’s almost impossible to predict opening meetings.

  16. Hello Singy13 me old pal, hope this finds you well... I am fine, hale and hearty, and just doing other things now... Haven't been on here for sometime, but I do drift in and out, now and then, just for the craic... Take it you still go to the Speedway and the Rugby of course, and did you not follow Carlisle United? If you are a Carlisle fan I may have a few tickets for a game soon if you would like them, Corporate of course... I was down in Barrow not long back watching them, and had a wild night in Barrow Town Centre, yep I couldn't believe it either... I am still in Maryport and I am off to a Reds match soon before the end of the season as I want to go to Borough Park before it gets demolished... Then I can hopefully be one of the first in the new stadium wherever they end up, I have been picking a few more Newcastle FC matches up as well... so been keeping busy... Nice to know I am missed, however, rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated... But if I do kick the bucket I will post it on here so everyone knows... Regards THJ

  17. Fantastic effort on the Go fund me page raising money to help the club after the recent storm damage to the pit area. The running of the club won’t be cheap anyway let alone these setbacks so it’s great to see people helping out financially and going down the track to offer help. Remember Andrew and the promotion own and run this club but it’s the fans club too so let’s support them on and off track! Already excited for the season to start. Give us a C !!!
