  1. Fair play to Belle Vue that’s an absolutely stonking lineup.

  2. Hello Singy13 me old pal, hope this finds you well... I am fine, hale and hearty, and just doing other things now... Haven't been on here for sometime, but I do drift in and out, now and then, just for the craic... Take it you still go to the Speedway and the Rugby of course, and did you not follow Carlisle United? If you are a Carlisle fan I may have a few tickets for a game soon if you would like them, Corporate of course... I was down in Barrow not long back watching them, and had a wild night in Barrow Town Centre, yep I couldn't believe it either... I am still in Maryport and I am off to a Reds match soon before the end of the season as I want to go to Borough Park before it gets demolished... Then I can hopefully be one of the first in the new stadium wherever they end up, I have been picking a few more Newcastle FC matches up as well... so been keeping busy... Nice to know I am missed, however, rumours of my demise have been greatly exaggerated... But if I do kick the bucket I will post it on here so everyone knows... Regards THJ

  5. Incredibly difficult to predict opening meetings when you have no kind of form guide. In theory Ipswich should comfortably win the tie on aggregate because they have a better side, that’s a fact. BUT, Ipswich have more questions that need answering than Belle Vue. Has King’s hand surgery worked? Or will he still be heavily restricted in his movement? Doyle’s first competitive meeting for nearly a year, will he be sharp or sluggish. You never know how riders start the season either, even world class riders. Emil last year had all sorts of issues mechanically and didn’t get going for a couple of months. He inevitably found the solutions and started blitzing everybody again but it just shows it’s almost impossible to predict opening meetings.

  6. Merry March! Speedway month has finally arrived. Still just over three weeks until this one, too early for a thread? Meh, who cares it’s been a long Winter! First competitive fixture of the new season and it couldn’t have started with a better fixture IMO. Will Witches make a better fist of things here than we have in recent years? It has to happen sooner or later, the team is too good not to. A lot will depend on Doyle and how he starts the season. Thankfully, he has two or three warm up meetings before this so that should help. Within 10 and its job done, will fancy us to finish the job at Foxhall if we can manage that.

  9. I don't know why they don't try holding it on a Sunday. Pick a date that clashes with one of the Polish finals (3 to choose from) pretty sure there won't be any Extraliga matches on those days. Put it on at 3pm to attract fans from further away?

  10. Oxford council were very supportive of the campaign to keep Oxford Stadium from being redeveloped for housing. Their stance together with others ultimately enabled the Cheetahs to return.

  11. It was Rugby Council who opposed the planning application, and the appeal against the decision was refused by the Government Planning Officer.

  13. I would put that with, the cheques in the post, we stand with WASPI women, etc etc, all of the hollow promises which help another agenda, personally I would love it to happen and if above NDL level would make effort to attend frequently, but the cynical side of me thinks "it ain't going to happen" and Abbey stadium will get built on before a single league meeting takes place at the new venue ?

  15. Saw this in the speedway star this week touching on the SGP earnings 9The Voice's Charles Mckay collated the earnings - Not seen this mentioned elsewhere on the forum} - The finances are why the PZM are looking to threaten the SGP/FIM about Polish riders and flex there financial muscle and pulling power of Ekstraliga . In the course of winning his fifth World Championship Zmarzlik earned 132,000 euros in prize money. from the SGP Rights Holders Warner Bros Discovery Sports. Considering the financial commitment to break into the Elite Top Tier of listed riders in the SGP - bikes, engines, kevlars, helmets. Mechanics + Pit Crew. Physiotherapists etc ... Not forgetting the simple logistics of getting to SGP - transport costs , flights and/or diesel, hotels, food. Mechanics. Since 2022 the net prize money and championship points per SGP have remained the same. GP riders have to cover all riders costs because the rights holders don't pay expenses unless the GP is outside of Europe. FIM/SGP rules states that riders hotels and travel expenses are included in the prize money. 20pts - 16,500 18pts - 12,500 16pts - 10,000 14 pts - 9000 12pts - 7750 11pts - 7750 10pts - 7250 9pts - 7250 8pts - 6500 7pts - 6250 6pts - 6000 5pts - 5750 4pts - 5500 3pts - 5250 2pts - 5000 1pt - 4750 0pts - 1000 all prize money is in euros. The top three in the standings - Zmarzlik, Lambert and Lindgren are the only riders that took over 100,000 euros over the course of the season in prize money.

  16. Hey im kasey and bill was my uncle. He fell sick with insomnia and bipolar and got to angry and sick to ride. He still watches speedway and goes to the local shows in our home town Adelaide. It was quite sad because he has said many times speedway was all he had and his trophies were his life but I think hes getting on pretty well as hes older
