  1. That scenario has gone on forever in speedway. When I rode in the very early 80’s it was exactly the same so a little unfair to blame the current northern tracks, especially Berwick, who have always done their best for youngsters even without running a NJL side of late. Try blaming your more local tracks for not running more regular competitive racing for juniors.

  2. Totally agree, it will never happen, all smoke and mirrors, the "promised land myth" which will allow the destruction of Abbey stadium and the building of more houses, before the completion of Wroughton gets near, don't doubt they will start the process to give the council a glimpse, but it is unlikely ever to stage a race, there is more duplicity in this new stadium scenario than in Rachel Reeves's CV

  5. Thousands of people go shoplifting. Is that OK too then?

  6. Only time we have been stopped riding is either due to rain or because of a accident during the meeting and time has run out what is totally acceptable

  7. It's pretty basic, not enough room for a separate track so would need to be shared with the cars I'd say it's worth an enquiry especially if the Rye House revival doesn't happen

  8. Sadly, from what I have read on here, you may well be right. For what it's worth, I sincerely hope that the 'Robins' fans will not be let down again.

  9. I think the SGP etc. will be available on one of the offshore on line streaming services as it has been for a number of years. Sometimes it’s in English but other times in Polish. As for u k league racing, this was occasionally available on one particular non u k based streaming service. The question is just how many people are willing to stump up any money to watch the sport on T V given the price rises elsewhere with council tax, water rates gas and electric all rising and forthcoming changes/increases to VED. Monetary pressures all round so probably not a good time expect the average punter to stump up cash particularly giving how fickle the riders are when it comes to the weather with the likelihood of a meeting being called off. Probably best if possible to put money into track visits and the odd BSN meeting.

  10. Really Poor Article. Fails to mention any of the concerns the fans have about Gaming int. Running Nl speedway at the Abbey the same as wants to run at the new venue would have been viable .its garbage to say otherwise .

  11. Not to me it isn't - I suppose it depends upon your personal morals. I do not like to deliberately break any law, others use a risk of detection basis and others imply don't care.

  12. I’ve done Security for many years but no longer do retail security. I still have friends that I keep in touch with though who do still do retail security, and they tell me the rules changed a couple of years ago. When I was doing it, we were allowed to use what we called “reasonable force” in dealing with thieves who weren’t playing ball. Now, you’re no longer allowed to touch anybody even if they’re raiding the whole shop. The guards now are simply a “visual deterrent”. Now I’m not sure if that’s the case across the board or just certain businesses, but that’s definitely the case with people I know who are currently still in the trade.

  13. The stores aren't bothered by it either or they'd employ proper security. They'll have a certain amount of "leakage" budgeted into their numbers and will make up any shortfall by raising prices for the plebs (us) queuing at the tills.

  14. Got to say from our experience with Luke that we were treated extremely well by Berwick no contempt at all. However we did put the hard yards in only missed one meeting during our time with them due to being in Glasgow hospital. We got the fixtures and arranged our schedule around them .

  17. Good publicity for the Comets with 25-30 under 16 kids, boys and girls with a GB academy training event, Tom Brennen and Leon Flint helping out. Also a good few minutes on local ITV border news, interviewing couple of the kids, Tom Brennen, Neil Vatcher and Andrew Bain . Maybe someone clever can post a link

  19. Slight change of track but I went to Somerset on Friday and went on to the oak tree arena site, they have a greggs, McDonald’s, screwfix and ford to the right as you drive in off the main road now and the old bar on the first bend is an energy company’s office now but they havent touched where the track was,you can still see the outline on google earth, so why couldn’t they have kept the speedway there ?

  20. I agree 100%. live speedway of league meetings is not the best way to help our sport & that a magazine style format would be a better way forward. Along the lines of Match Of The Day with studio pundits showing & talking about the weeks events over a 1.5 hour time programme to show the best races from verious meetings & previewing coming ones

  21. Fraser will do well at worky similar track to the polish ones but might struggle at most away tracks
