  1. Has the speedway star ever done an honest few pages on the people who run the sport track record? that would make a really interesting reading, speedway’s demise is 90% self inflicted, Osbourne as immoral as he may be is a business man and his business is in a far better state than ours

  3. I've never seen that anywhere, I really hope it's not true. Does nothing to help British riders get team places. If a foreigner can't reach a 4.00 average, should they really be taking the places of Brits at reserve? Look at Poland, they look after their own & dominate world speedway (except the SON).

  4. Could be the one,I know the Plymouth promotion have been in contact with ivacic last season but obviously we couldnt compete with the likes of Glasgows financial clout.

  8. Well the forum has died a death unsurprisingly with little to discuss now all teams are settled. Have I missed any? These are the ones that all of us Witches of a certain age remember fondly that will probably always instantly remind us of the Speedway if and when it comes on the radio. It’s amazing how music can invoke memories of things we love in all walks of life whether that be people, sport or incidents in our lives, or sometimes unfortunately remind us of not so good times. Are there songs other than these that are more personal to people, that will always remind them of Speedway? Maybe a song you always listen to in the car on the way to the track etc

  11. No thanks, she isn't very good tbh. Worky only signed her for a publicity stunt.

  12. Tonight at 7pm on the Redcar Bears Facebook page, a Bears Talk Live returns chatting to Erik Riss! It will be available to watch again after the event, but if you want to ask a question, you can on the Facebook post once the stream goes live.

  18. Has the Speedway Star ever done a (honest) few pages on Clarke Osbourne's speedway track record. That would make very interesting reading.

  19. Plymouth Argyle have just beaten Liverpool in the FA Cup today. Two of Argyle's mascots at the match were Ben Barker's sons Luke and Bradley. A day they'll never forget!!

  21. That all depends on your personal situation. I don't have a laptop, just a desktop PC, and I don't have a smart TV, so watching it on BSN would mean me and my other half squeezing into my office to watch it. The TV package I have through Virgin includes all the sports channels - Sky, TNT, Eurosport, etc. - so if the GPs and live Premiership matches move to TNT it won't cost me any more than it does now and I can still watch it from the comfort of my sofa. While some are complaining about the cost of TNT, the move to BSN would be costly to me.

  22. I agree 100%. live speedway of league meetings is not the best way to help our sport & that a magazine style format would be a better way forward. Along the lines of Match Of The Day with studio pundits showing & talking about the weeks events over a 1.5 hour time programme to show the best races from verious meetings & previewing coming ones

  23. I don't know Dan or Joe at all, but just looking in from the outside they seem very respectful and not spoilt little kids like some others are... hope they both can go far in the sport.

  24. D Thompson and Jenkins is a powerful reserve pairing. If and when Thompson hits the big numbers at reserve which I fully expect him to, then Either King or Ellis will replace him at reserve. That potency at reserve coupled with the heatleader trio of Doyle Emil and Brennan is what makes Ipswich far and away the strongest side in the league. Normally when you get such a strong top end you suffer further down but that isn’t the case here. Helped of course by Thompson’s 25% reduction. Let’s be honest here, for anyone else to have a chance this year they’re gonna need Ipswich to run in to injury problems again.

  25. Farewell Speedway Star. Been a fixture of my life for nigh on 60 years. Cost of living, withdrawal of fuel allowance, council tax going up. For me, too much Sgp and foreign in magazine. Writing about riders I never see (no TV) or care about. Too much grass and far too much about defunct clubs. Burford bores on, Burbidge burbles Add in Royal Fail delivering magazine on any day but Thursday and I will do without. Eastbourne gone forever, Iwade in Kent of all places and ….

  26. With respect I think it’s a little naive to believe that Tr a man with 40 years of experience with the likes of Osborne, has been conned by anyone especially him.He is merely fulfilling the terms of his exit deal with Osborne as a spokesperson for Swindon Motorsports to ensure that his ultimate aim is achieved.

  27. I think for any first time visitor it's essential to go to the Prague 1 zone . So much history to see ,Prague Castle, Old Town Square, Charles Bridge to name just a few. Anyone who doesn't go there is wasting their trip to what is a wonderful city.

  28. Its supposed to be a development league, the ‘winnings’ should be potential riders for the future, not a shiny £10 trophy and a picture in the Star. If clubs stuck to the principles and the recommended pay rates , there wouldn't be a ‘them and us’ attitude and clubs like Buxton , Mildenhall and even the Isle if Wight may still be running in the NDL but some clubs, and we all know who, have a win at all costs attitude and do what they want and not necessarily whats best for the sport. This coming season will see very few new faces in the league, just a couple of lads turning 15 will be about it as there has been precious little new riders taking up the sport. Attitudes need to change , more effort made to get kids on bikes, make the sport cheaper and not dearer as the new regs are doing or there wont be a future. There will always be winners and losers but at this level, it doesn't really matter !

  29. Imo putting one at belle vue is a case of thinking inside the box, this is not about the have or have nots about BV but Cardiff was something different, it was the whole fan experience and that’s what’s new is needed now, a new fan experience and you ain’t getting that at belle vue, it’s not for me
