Can't beat a bit of positivity I can't say nothing about R.E.D. campers as I've not been in the market for buying one. But if I was up in that neck of the woods and needed a new tyre I'd be heading to STS due to the amount of times I've seen their logo on various riders racesuits etc. Embrace sponsors of every club.3 points

Maybe an opening for BSN to step in if they think it would be viable.Certainly no problem with their coverage of the sport up till now.Dont know the “ ins and outs” regarding TV rights though.1 point

I think they have a chance personally. Fourth spot looks quite open and it’s all about getting there then anything can happen. You could end facing one of the favourites who are stricken with injury.1 point

Last year Discovery+ showed: 17 Premiership meetings, including all of the play off legs 1 British Final 10 SGP's 3 SWC's 3 SGP 2's 1 SWC 2 8 SGP Quali's (meh) 2 SGP Sprint Races (meh) That's 35 actual meetings, for a price of £6.99 p/m based on a 6 month subscription that worked out at an amazing £1.19 per meeting. Even at £30.99 p/m that's £5.31 a meeting for "world class" Speedway (plus all of the other sport that will be shown), compared to BSN who plan to show 58 meetings (of varying standard) in 2025 for £250, working out at £4.31 a meeting the TNT subscription starts to look more appealing and competitively priced, it's just a bit of a bummer that Eurosport used to be free (included) for Sky/Virgin subscribers and now isn't, Discovery+ was included at no extra cost for Sky customers and now the sports won't, you could get the Discovery Standard subscription for as little as £3.99 p/m.1 point

i just get discovery+ for the speedway season, cancel when all meetings are done1 point

No idea, I don't have Discovery. Looks like I won't be watching any GP's on TV this year, but i'm not bothered about that tbh...1 point

So just another good speedway meeting at Belle Vue, nowhere near the event at Cardiff was.1 point

I just think that it is a bit short sighted because the racing was much better last year and that would have boosted this years attendance. Crowd levels were very poor last year mainly due to the poor racing the year before.1 point

Can't believe we're not having a challenge match before the BSN series, Glasgow and Edinburgh will have had 2 meetings before then don't think it's ideal not to have a challenge match1 point
-
Just an idea, if it doesnt cause conflict with the current tv deal is to get BSN and the various tracks own streaming services to compile a 50 minute or so weekly show. Hawk it around the terrestial channels and see if anyone bites. I've said 50 minutes as this would allow time for advert breaks to fit an hour slot.1 point

You're going to be busy going to every meeting live. How will you manage Glasgow and Edinburgh racing on the same night?1 point
-
No thank you. Hell will freeze over before I pick streaming an amateurish production over getting off my backside and actually going to the venue.1 point

The answer is just buy BSN and forget about Eurosport, BSN is a far superior product anyway1 point

Those in charge of the sport in this country have over the years squandered the TV opportunities to promote the sport and wasted the income yet given no thought to to the fact that they need to promote the sport to a wider audience and that is a bit like the track attendance, take it or leave it with no thought for the punters. Thankfully some capitulation with BSN who do a fine job and deserve the support of the speedway followers but that in itself does not get the message across to the wider audience of casual viewers who might come across the sport when flicking through the t v Chanels. It does need a main stream terrestrial broadcaster but alas those days have long gone unless someone can convince ITV4 to show at the very least, highlights. That would get it in the published t v listings etc but putting it on Quest is not good enough.1 point
-
But who is now going to take on the mantle of just switching programme channels at the drop of a hat, completely screwing up your recording of it? Or joining a meeting 3 heats in because the tennis over ran? Or even not showing the speedway meeting at all live but putting it on later, (when the Kabaddi has finished)... Add to this who are now going to consistently show the wrong captions for riders, teams, tac subs, scores, rising stars etc? Big shoes to fill...1 point

Scott Young, content, production and business operations, WBD Sports Europe. Young continued: “TNT Sports will also continue to bring more content to fans on Warner Bros Discovery’s free-to-air channel Quest. In 2025, this will include broadcasting every MotoGP Sprint race, adding to existing live Bennetts British Superbikes coverage, a brand-new weekly cycling show covering all key moments of the season, highlights of the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a Espana, plus premiere a range of new sports documentaries.” While Speedway, obviously, doesn't seem to get a mention anywhere (he probably doesn't even know he's got it), hopefully it's comparable to the BSB and it'll get shown on Quest. Speedway needs to get back to Sky, tout suite and as soon as the Premiership CEO gets back from Australia he needs to be knocking on their door showcasing the improvements he's made to the TV image. Not sure what it means for the SGP, just another nail in the coffin for it in this country, can't see that going to Sky or any other broadcaster while WBD are balls deep in it. Time to look into getting one of those "special" firesticks1 point

I was the accountant for the Rye House revival in 1999 and I can confirm that we actually made a profit and by the end of the season it was so positive that Len Silver took it over the following year. I will give you the benefit that you are misinformed and you dont have an ulterior motive to slander Steve Ribbons and if you were, could you please withdraw your accusations. To all genuine Mildenhall supporters this is a realistic and probably chance to have your club back so go on the 2nd February and decided for yourself if RoundTheBoards or Rayleigh is right.1 point

Mildenhall Speedway Press Release 01/25 dated 11/1/25 - Fen Tigers set to roar back into action in Golden Jubilee year Plans to revive Speedway at Mildenhall Stadium have been revealed . The Fen Tigers were last on track as members of the National Development League [NDL] in 2023 and the proposed formation of a Supporters Trust to bring the sport back to West Row, in what will be the 50th anniversary of league Speedway at the venue, has led to a deal being agreed to see racing back in time for the Golden Jubilee celebrations of one of the sport's longest running tracks. A Steering Committee was formed in the latter part of 2024 and a member of the committee went to the Aldershot headquarters of stadium owners Spedeworth International earlier this month and had a meeting with the Managing Director, Mr. Deane Wood. The committee member reported that Mr Wood could not have been more helpful and that there is a deal on the table for the Fen Tigers to race again in the forthcoming 2025 Speedway season. A spokesperson said, "We will be looking for a complete community effort if we are going to pull this off - the proposal is for a club owned by the fans themselves via the setting up of the Mildenhall Speedway Supporters Trust; this a model used successfully by a number of football clubs. Therefore the club and the team would be owned by the people who care most the most about it….the fans". The spokesperson continued, "We have made a formal application to the British Speedway authoritities to enter the National Development Trophy competition for 2025 - a league format which has five teams currently confirmed and so would represent five home fixtures. To these we would be planning to add an open meeting to celebrate the Golden Jubilee (50th. anniversary) of the club plus a couple of other challenge matches at NDL level. We have the basis in our planning of a solid team of riders not currently associated with any other clubs and all enthusiastic about riding for Mildenhall". Of the works ongoing at Mildenhall Stadium damaged by a fire last July the spokesperson went on, "The repair and refurb works are moving on at a great pace and Spedeworth have already announced a reopening date for their car racing meetings in March, so there's no concern about all necessary facilities not being ready for the start of the Speedway season". Supporters have their opportunity to hear more and to put in their input at a public meeting being held at West Row Village Hall, Chapel Row, West Row, IP28 8NY on Sunday 2nd. February with a 3pm start time. The Supporters Trust Committee's spokesperson concluded, "We cannot tell you how excited we are by this turn of events as most people were sadly in 2024 contemplating the end of the Fen Tigers; and we sincerely hope this excitement is reflected amongst all those who support Speedway in Mildenhall, in the East of England and indeed throughout the sport". Really don't know what you're struggling with. Riders are signed by clubs, and once contracts are signed and a press release is made to confirm the signing, they are added to the club's list of signed riders. Once a club has signed 7 riders, they have to be submitted to BSP Ltd, and ratified as a legal 1-7.1 point
