  2. Listening to the talk speedway podcast with Peter Facenna. Freddie working for the Glasgow owners (probably a good reason for him to go to Glasgow). Interesting listen. Need to listen to more of these as good content.

  3. Probably had the Vacancy and looked in house and asked if he would be interested. I really can’t see them offering jobs to butter up a deal as someone mentioned Connor Bailey also worked for Allied they are a massive employer in the Possilpark area.

  4. Sadly it works like a charm! Stop replying to him/her people for crying out loud. You’re giving them the oxygen that they crave.

  5. You have some sort of strange beef with Ipswich chequebook speedway lol…. Yes Doyle and Emil aren’t cheap but neither is Bewley and Kurtz and also would say the Sheffield top 3 aren’t either If we was chequebook speedway we would have paid Rew what he wanted and let Danny go….. fact is we wouldn’t pay it Are you bitter over Brennan? Take a chill pill my friend

  7. We've had on course betting at Oxford Speedway (at the Championship Pairs). Don't think it wax a great sucess as they don't seem to have returned. I think the betting industry's problem with Speedway is they don't like events that can be easily fixed.

  8. Sverre came to West Ham in 1965. The swap was with Reg Luckhurst. Olle came to West Ham in 1969 following Sverre's departure.

  10. He is bitter at Ipswich speedway full stop, he hates them, do not know why. I like the way they build teams, to entice Emil to ride here is a massive feather in their cap, in my view the most exciting team to watch, who would not want to see Emil and Doyley ride every week.

  13. IPSWICH - clearly the strongest team on paper and if not decimated by injuries this time should top the table comfortably. BELLE VUE another strong team assembled in M12 with potential lower down the order, would expect the Aces to meet the Witches in the final all things being equal SHEFFIELD clear vulnerabilities at reserve but their top four will win plenty of meetings especially at home KING'S LYNN always going to have a strong reserve and should be difficult to beat at the AFA but heats 13 and 15 look tough work on the road. Could be a tight scrap for 4th but I'm being biased and plumping for my own team 😁 LEICESTER very similar line up to last year but Howarth doesn't adequately replace Lawson for me and can Cook be relied upon across a whole season? BIRMINGHAM a vast improvement on last season's side, you just wonder whether 100% will be given by everyone team member every week. If it is they could crash the top four and be dark horses OXFORD Gusts is an exciting signing but they look 7th strongest to me without changes

  16. What everyone is thinking is just so negative! On the plus side Wood and Marson will be gaining valuable track time with having 2 teams to ride for and this will only enhance their experience as lack of bike and track time does impede riding standards. Also Marson will be released mid season and if significant improvement could dislodge a Monarch Championship reserve. Coles and McGurk could also slot into the Championship reserve berth at some stage. Fundamentally it is all about track time and using the riders available.

  17. I don't think it makes a massive difference, if Springer gets a few Champ meetings throughout the season & impresses, wether that's as a guest or for another team, there's nothing to stop Poole offering him a team spot in 2026.

  18. To be honest, i don't know. But it looks like he wont be short of equipment if he is just doing the UK.

  19. I may be wrong but didn't Poole say they had been waiting on a youngster who was talking to his parents to see if it was feasible to fit the meetings for Poole in? Well that guy clearly wasn't Marson so I guess the British youngster they asked couldn't fit them in so they gone the Marson route instead.

  20. NZ Solo championship for the 24/25 season won by Ben Whalley who passed George Congrieve to win the final. Bradley Wilson Dean wasn't allowed to compete as he hadn't ridden in any NZ meeting this season. There were only 5 riders better than wobbler status but the racing was good and the kids enjoyed some spirited competition on the small track. There was a good size crowd and the 7 o'clock start now there are lights helped the amount of track preparation breaks. I'll be back for the next meeting.

  21. The issue will be the EAN (barcode number), not being loaded into their POS system.. The buyer usually sorts this by setting up the EAN, and price, on the central pricing system that each major retailer uses... If a barcode number changes then the change can sometimes get missed by the retailer... The retailer should flag up any "not on File" products (those that won't scan), to their central control teams to sort...

  22. If Sheffield was that bad a track, I'm sure we'd see lots of Sheffield riders sidelined through injury. Like, for example, the end of the '23 season, when Tigers had to field 3 guest riders for the final, with Woofinden, Gilkes, Vissing and Jack Holder on the injury list. Or the '24 season, when Woofinden (again) was an absentee for half the season. The odd thing is, despite riding the Owlerton track week in and week out, NONE of them were injured at Sheffield... they ALL succombed to injuries elsewhere! As I've pointed out before, you have to go back to 2014 to find a Sheffield rider suffering serious injury on the (allegedly) "perilous" Owlerton track. It can't be that bad!

  23. Ok thanks Next time I have any issues at my local smiths I will ack them to get their machines checked in case the issue is with them, not the magazine.

  24. it shouldnt have been announced with a fanfare if it wasnt watertight the correct outcome has been reached as they shouldnt be in it but it makes the sport look amateur hour yet again

  25. I would say the opposite really Personally I think Poole should be hammered for this, why even accept the invitation (or if never formally done so say you would) allowing press releases and fixture planning etc to be carried out then pull out, it is a nonsense! The viability of accepting the meetings should have been looked into prior to doing so rather than months later once everything else was in place as you now have another club and fans in Sheffield impacted also. I’ve never understood the Poole bashing before as I’ve thought of them as the gold standard, a tidy and full stadium every week and levels of success that would be the envy of most clubs in any sport let alone speedway but I can now see the self interest and quite frankly f you attitude to everyone else in the sport others talk about.

  27. For those querying the time, it was mentioned a couple of weeks ago in the Speedway Star that the Premiership media day is being held at Oxford in the morning so they're hoping that more of the top riders will be available as they should already be there.

  28. Each to their own! I don't think I'd miss B'ham Speedway too much if it wasn't there and I've been attending since 1971.... with age/wisdom/family/hobbies etc....I've diluted my passion from a die hard one Club man, to more of a supporter of the sport! Speedway is nowhere near as exciting as it used to be IMO and I can take it or leave it!
