  1. Crump and Adams you dumped after a year after bringing them over. Doyle and Chris holder both started at I.O.W before Poole and Jack holder started at Plymouth before Poole. As lewy has also pointed out Zack cook started at Plymouth also. So not really invested in the Aussies either, oh dear. So your point is utter nonsense.

  2. Great to mark and the volunteer team widening the back straight track between bends 2 and 3. also agreed a 5 year lease with the land owners so really good news for Plymouth speedway. no matter what anyone says mark deserves huge credit for keeping Plymouth speedway alive and improving on the track. Along with I believe a new 500 club package for hospitality members on bend one.

  3. The decision itself is not a huge surprise. I went to every Cardiff GP from 2001 to this year's, and 2024 did have the feel of a final visit. However, the way it's been handled stinks. If they had doubts about viability, then drop Cardiff when they set the calendar. To put it in, allow fans to arrange (expensive) accommodation etc, then move the goalposts three months later is a huge own goal.

  4. I think Chris Holder was brought over by Poole, and loaned to the I.O.W, as for Adams he wasn't dumped, he moved up into the higher league

  5. I can't help but feel sorry for Cardiff, especially all of those good folk who have already booked up accomodation, transport etc. Bit of a kick in the teeth really. As a Belle Vue fan, I am, of course, very pleased a Grand Prix has been given to Belle Vue, but Cardiff has really done very well for Speedway over the years. We should be very grateful to them. A very sad decision for me.

  6. Not a word about the thousands who have booked hotel rooms/travel etc If there was any doubt about the viability of the event why announce the date? Shambolic

  7. Rather have James who could progress in a 2nd Season, than Coles who has been around for a long time & never made much progress.

  8. Sadly the whole thing as turned into a circus the points scoring the fact that you can finish 10 th in the meeting and still win the gp really, the lunatic s are finally running the asylum god help us

  9. Sad day, really sad. The 3 home wins were as good as atmosphere as I can ever remember at any sports event Ive been to, Bomber in 2007 in particular. With regards to this being 'inevitable' I understand that but why was it ever put on the calendar? Its inexcusable really is. This lot keep making bold promises they do not keep and we now have a series in sub par stadiums with the only 2 riders that have a chance of beating BZ not allowed in the series its been a shambles. The business model is be propped up by Polish money and therefore they dictate what goes on. There will be a minimum 3 permanent Polish riders from 2026 onwards, will be 3-5 Polish GPs minimum, the PMZ will block Artem and Emil ever getting back into the series and unless a very wealthy individual decides they want to stage a GP in another country we will see no new venues. WBD have delivered on pretty much zero that they promised and its not a great surprise as I would assume none of them had even heard of speedway pre 2021...

  10. I think this is sad, but inevitable. Last time I went to Cardiff the crowd was shocking, and with teams shutting down and the leagues shrinking, so the number of people going will also shrink. Cardiff never sold out, but it used to be pretty full until recently. Now there were more empty seats than occupied ones. GP now back to when it was held at places like Coventry and Hackney. Next thing we'll be back to one- off World Finals in Poland. Only positive about this is the Belle Vue track, but I'm not even convinced they can fill the stadium for 2 nights.

  11. Unbelievable. It's like trying to argue a point with a lump of wood. Do you really not understand the issue? Poole do not want to contribute to the cost of NDL racing, but want to be able to pick riders out of the NDL whenever it suits them. It's blatant hypocrisy.

  12. Again it’s not the point the guy was making, I understand and I’m sure everyone understands the pitfalls etc of booking something but that’s not why he doesn’t have sympathy for people who have booked
    3 points
  13. There’s a correct way of doing things, and Poole don’t do that. Bout time you lot took ya cheap rose tinted glasses off.

  14. So, the "new era" keeps going from strength to strength, the series is down to 1 big stadium in a major city, there's little to no promotion, all of the world's best riders are not riding in the series, the points system is a shambles, you can win a GP by coming 10th, the "sprint race" is not a sprint race... hang on though, there's TV screens and a camera in each pit bay, that'll get the masses queuing for tickets!

  16. For those that bitched about 'rip off Cardiff' , I see that Premier inns in Manchester are all around £400 or more for those 2 nights. Bargain! 👍

  17. I just love the spin in the Headlines..rather than the doom and gloom and the disaster of losing the biggest day of the year in UK speedway its dress up as a great positive that we 2 GPS in a normal speedway track.

  18. This is what happens when your world championship is full of crap riders. Artem and Emil's absence is felt in my heart. The FIM are learning a valuable lesson. Go woke, go broke.

  20. So sad. It was a great social weekend, but we could see the decline in attendances, particularly on the Friday night. Fortunately we had booked our Travelodge on Flexible rate, so have already cancelled and been told that we get a full refund. Can't fault Travelodge & PayPal. Refund back in my account already!! 😀

  21. but if the future of the sport isn't invested in there will be no business to run. getting it now?

  22. you really do sum up your club and not in a good way ive not been on the bsf long and often wondered about the dislike for poole but it soon becomes clear when you read a few posts

  23. 8 league 2 bsn 1 koc standing £20= £220 4 NT £15= £60 programme x 15 = £45 car parking x 15 = £30 so in total early bird price saves £55

  24. As an aside - I still much preferred the one off 'World Final'. Speedway as it ought to be.🙂

  25. Plenty of local interest around here. Plenty seasons tickets sold, sponsors renewed and new sponsors on board, or did you just want to leave that part out? Thinking back I think the poole attendances weren’t the best.
    2 points
  26. There was something very up when they "announced" the dates so long after they usually do, which had been at the actual event previously, which is why I surmised it wasn't actually going to happen until tickets went on sale. But even I'm surprised at the way they've handled this, no explanation, just a twitter post, put the out of office on and do a runner for Christmas.

  27. Exactly! I think Poole also brought Doyle over as well.

  28. It’s a sad day for UK speedway & a measure of how the sport is failing over here. The attendance has been poor since Covid & to be honest embarrassing when on live tv so probably the right decision.

  30. So best not say anything about all those young aussies that Poole invested in bringing to British speedway and all the clubs that benefitted from them later on. Eg. Crump, Adams,Boyce, Lemon, Doyle, Holders, Cooks etc etc

  31. What we're seeing here is the death of World class Speedway in Britain. I cannot see a GP in this country after 2025
    2 points
  32. Deal with what? Sorry if you missed the point. I'll try and explain once more, then I'll give up... Cardiff was criticised for being 'rip off' because hotel prices were hiked on GP weekends. Whether it be Oasis, The Wombles, or Speedway is irrelevant. Manchester hotels have hiked their prices because of demand in the same way, so is no different to Cardiff or anywhere else & I accept that's how it works. If you can't understand that, I'll send you my tissues, as you probably need them for something else 😉

  33. So why did they announce the date, then?

  34. Much easier... I live in Stockport...

  36. Poole Prices frozen at '24 rates for 2025! And just in case you're interested I purchase 5 season passes every year for family/friends,and myself. Thats 3 generations of old and new punters!!😝

  37. Maybe the subsidy by from the Welsh tourist board has finished or been dramatically reduced to make the event unviable. Local businesses are going to suffer unless some other event gets booked in. Also it shows the way not to address the problem of declining attendance is to shove the prices up way beyond inflation. BV need to take heed - no guarantee of the meetings being a sell out as both will be on TV & should price tickets to pass on the benefit of their fixed costs now being spread across two meetings instead of just the one intended.

  38. I thought the racing last year was good, much better than previous years and it was the whole weekend experience that made it a great occasion.

  39. i do find it rather amusing that everyone who doesn't support Poole can see this, but the Poole fans just wont accept it.

  40. Big mistake having two GP's at Belle Vue. Just cannot see the reasoning or positives behind this. One GP is something to really look forward to, just leave it at that!

  41. For once it is actually fairly clear in the regulations.....both riders had averages (below their minimum assessed) so hierarchy said Lasse in the 1-5 010.3 TEAM DECLARATIONS Teams must be declared prior to the start of the season to the BSP Ltd office, to confirm it complies with the current regulations. Where the declaration or re-declaration complies with the current regulations it will be approved and confirmed in writing to the relevant Promotion. Should the declaration or re-declaration NOT comply with the regulations the reasons for rejection will be explained, in writing, to the relevant Promotion. Any appeal against the decision of the BSP Ltd office should be made to the SCB Co-Ordinator as per Chapter 18 of the Speedway Regulations. Changes must be made at least 3 days before the start time of the meeting at which it is intended to be used. In any declaration where 2 or more riders hold an identical MA (cannot be determined by a 3rd or more decimal point) then the re-declaration must nominate the hierarchical order. Where riders have a previous MA, then the higher placed rider from the previous issue shall retain the higher position.

  45. It isnt a covered stadium, no guarantee it wont rain in June, Cardiff you can be certain it will be on.

  46. Yes but let's not forget that promoters are trying to make their clubs financially stable first and foremost.

  47. No surprise about Cardiff IMO . Held on a dodgy made up track, in a difficult to reach location. Overpriced admission and outrageous catering charges. Extortionate hotel prices. Good riddance to the “principality” stadium. Even the circus appear to be on its a**e giving 2 rounds to Belle Vue. A track with limited spectator accommodation around the track. Weather permitting should be 2 home rounds for Bewdley to win. £25 a ticket sounds about right, maybe an extra fiver for a stand seat. Merry Christmas

  48. £25 !! You are joking unless you are under 5 !!

  49. Plymouth have advertised their season tickets as: 8 league, 2 BSN, 1 KOC & 4 NL fixtures for £300 (standing) & £330 (seating), early bird prices. Can't say £20 a match sounds a great deal to me, especially as four of them are development league matches. What were the prices of single matches this year?

  50. For those moaning that Poole don’t have an NDL team. Contact Matt or Danny Ford, tell them you are willing to put together a NDL team at Wimborne Road. Tell them you are prepared to cover all expenses, from stadium rental to paying the riders and getting the programs printed, to paying the BSPA for officials, to the advertising of the meetings. You keep all the gate money. And pay for the shortfall. If there’s a profit it’s happy days! If it’s a loss, you dig into your savings. What’s not to like? Go for it!
