Worst kept secret in Speedway William going to Poole, must be very exciting for the Poole fans to have secured such a precocious young talent. Do find it a bit contrived that a club that appears to do very little to develop young speedway talent professes that William feels Poole is the best place for him to develop and improve with a focus on providing him with the support , guidance, and environment he needs to thrive without undue pressure. Wonder how Max Perry views this.4 points

I still rate Poole as the team to beat, look at the team that starts this season compared to start of last Lawson, Z Cook, Thomsen back Kerr for B Cook at Championship level isn’t much different imo, yes Cook will kick on and have a great few years but at this level Kerr will be up there with the best 2nd heatleaders. Rowe for Brennan, not sure anyone expected Tom to have quite as good a year as he did last, I don’t think Anders will repeat that but I reckon he’ll be a 8 point rider. Starke for Hagon, Hagon a bit stronger but he was being carried by season end, Starke you’d expect to get back to 4 or 4.5 AN Other for Perry, whoever it is can’t really score less than Max did so let’s say it is a Cairns for Foord swap in reality, Cairns expectation might need tempered from those thinking he is the next Zmarzlik, Briggs, Rickardsson etc but with the backing and kit he has he’ll average 4.5/5 in the championship at a canter. if I was a Poole fan I’d have no reason to panic and fans of other teams predicting their demise I think is just wishful thinking.4 points

Well chuffed with that. Especially delighted to see Cooper Rushen, Jody Scott & Luke Harrison lineup for the Stars.2 points

They easily have the best top 3, I think Jason Edwards is really going to have a big year next year too... Their top 4 is incredible. Jake Mulford should be solid enough at number 2, especially at home. I like their reserves, but they are just as likely to go missing away from home, particularly again teams with stronger reserves. I rate Tom Spencer quite a bit, he's never going to be world champion but he's a very solid rider and I think he'll surprise a few, always gives 110%. Anyway back to Poole. I'd be delighted to see Anders pushing mid 7s and I would love to be proven wrong and see him hit 8 too. I just wish he'd stop wearing his hats like a condom...2 points

I'm intrigued to know the names of the 7 Australian Premiership standard riders not currently racing in the Premiership, as is every promoter..!? 😅2 points

It's not always about the winning of a league, sometimes it's about the first step, sometimes it's the only step towards a young person's future. If its the first step to becoming a gp rider or not, if you Don't give them a chance ,you will never find out. It would be nice if more clubs joined in and put more smiles on youngsters faces.2 points

Wasn’t an asset so no big deal.Being honest he didn’t show much improvement over the season. He would have been difficult to replace with anyone better during the season with the averages situation.1 point

Can't say I disagree but the league needs heat leaders and they are of limited numbers . Personally wouldn't say he's to good and do believe the additional meetings will help his progress.1 point

All this speculation about Young Cairns who is an outstanding prospect I agree , but as we all know speedway riders have crashes and injuries .I would hate for the lads sake he doesn’t but to try and build a side around a lads 16th birthday date could be a huge gamble if injuries hit the Poole side .Speedway is won on the track and I wish all riders in the 3 leagues have an injury free season1 point

Don't really know why the concern about the number 7, it does not really matter who it is.1 point

Agree with all that, as I said previously with the way the team has been built, if Ben wanted to do Championship we could have fitted him in and that would make a massive difference. Kerr is not terrible but he is no Ben Cook, he may improve his average slightly but I don't see him getting to much over 8, Anders will improve his average too but more 7 than 8, Zach definitely has improvement in him and so has Tobias, we will need all of them to improve to win the title.1 point

I don't for one second believe that Poole will finish anywhere other than in the top 2 and probably make it to the final in everything. But to say Ben Cook for Lewis Kerr is like for like and Anders Rowe will be an 8 point rider is insane. Ben Cook was pretty much in the top 5 riders last season, I think he finished 6th highest if memory serves me well, and I don't think Lewis Kerr, although a good rider, is considered one of the best in the league. And I do think Anders will have a good season next year, but he'll do very good to make it to an 8 point average.1 point

Poole already holding the competition up! Probably angling for the 2nd leg as usual... Maybe a Jubilee Trophy double header?1 point

Steve has done a lot of travelling these last few years so his priorities this year, in no particular order, is his young family, his business & Championship riding. Living 25-30 miles down the road is a no brainer this year.1 point

You've left Robert Lambert out. I'd probably have Charles Wright ahead of King and/or Ellis. And I think Harris has retired from Team GB. 6 man teams, 18 heats, none of this 15 heat nonsense.1 point

Cradley had some talks with Moseley rugby club last year which showed promise but after a couple of months and meetings it suddenly went cold on the Moseley side for whatever reason1 point

He was slated by people on here who usually whine at absolutely anything. I thought he was brilliant, and he gave the sport great coverage when working on his other sports like the darts and footy. He was extremely clued up on the sport and knew what he was talking about and his excitement coupled with that made for an excellent commentator. As I stated before, he and Tatum worked great together but Tatum hasn't got it in him to be lead commentator and obviously cannot handle the pressure hence why he makes so many mistakes, mistakes that you wouldn't hear from him before when working alongside Pearson. Looking back, Sky Sports was brilliant for speedway and their coverage of both league racing and GPs was absolutely streets ahead of what we get served up with now. Being in Australia I barely watch anything other than the GPs anymore and that is even when work allows so are usually repeats but I find the overall presentation dull and second rate. Pearson and to a lesser extent Millard could make a dull meeting sound exciting whereas the current crop have the reverse effect and make top meetings seem dull and flat.1 point

It's funny how much Nigel Pearson was criticized for his commentary style when he was with us, and is now praised so much since his sad passing. Food for thought1 point

I think Abi is really good. I must admit that speedway misses the voice of Nigel Pearson. He always got me pumped up for a big match.1 point

If it’s less than a year old it will probably have a web browser, it’s what I use to watch BSN. I just go to the webpage and log in and watch it from there.1 point

I have been watching the snooker that is on Eurosport this week and compared to BBC coverage it has the same faults as their Speedway coverage when compared to BSN. It seems that Eurosport are just not very good at sports coverage.1 point

I'm dreading the last 2 announcements!? It's all gone quiet....even the excuses are drying up!! My opinion is that LR is content with a sh#te first team as long as he's got his NDL to play with. Said it a long time ago....Tolley's first signing should have been someone that knows about speedway at prem level.... Let's see what happens?!0 points
