“We believe that we have signed one of the best newcomers to UK Speedway in the past few seasons.” 🤣 I admire the optimism... I do like Plymouth and I like Garry... but come on.4 points

Poole have lost Cook Brennan Foord and Hagon … replaced by Rowe Kerr Starke and a 2 pointer Yes they had to lose points but that’s a big downgrade of rider3 points

Just hoping the fans get behind Danny as I feel it will be tough for him riding at 2 but the expectations should be lower For example Home To Belle Vue Heat 1…. Doyle Kurtz King Cook Heat 6… Doyle Bewley King Zischke Heat 8… King Cook Jenkins Mulford Heat 10 Doyle Lidsey King Blodorn Thats 6 points for Danny and doing his job… yes he could beat Lidsey but he could be beaten by Cook or Blodorn I hope true fans realise that he will have tough races at 2 and 6 or 7 points is fine not the 10 or 11 people expect2 points

Don’t see how the powers that be would allow someone to ride for different teams in the same competition. That would make the sport a laughing stock and would lose all its credibility. Before you know it, teams will be borrowing riders from other teams for one off matches when their own riders are unavailable/injured. Heaven help us if the sport ever plummeted to those levels.2 points

I'm very positive, they won't have 0.96 available come July 1st. Tbh I can certainly see this team winning the league (with Cairns).1 point

I can see more than 1 signing on July 1st. Even with Cairns this team will struggle, they must be saving the 0.96 for someone.1 point

Patrick. A quick look through Google and I can't see anything after 2019, so I'm guessing he has quit??1 point

No, but something along the lines of we're hoping Mitch can come in and achieve his average and try and keep his place in the main body of the team. Which is more realistic, not putting such a hype around him that he's going to be a big disappointment... again (Goret, Turner, Baek) No but he's going to be riding a small track and when I mean he isn't very good I mean at this level!! Not at Premiership level. I'm more than happy to be proven wrong though and I do wish him luck. And I always want to see plymouth do well.1 point

i can see why they were asked but id agree with that youd imagine the expectation is that sheffield will tear them a new one and theyll be out in the quarters so it doesnt get too complicated1 point

True. Seeing the video of Brandon was very sad. So much history left to rack and ruin. ☹️1 point

Having their own 7 riders would be ideal, but given that Poole left the AGM as "provisionally" in the Prem KOC, shows they aren't going to do anything that doesn't suit them. If they were told they can't use Lawson, Zach Cook & Rowe, they'd probably just say no to the KOC. It sounds like the Premiership wanted Poole I'm the tournament, so they'll have to make concessions for them to agree.1 point

Sedgeman on 6.00? He's never averaged that. He'd be an Ok reserve but I doubt Jepperson would be much more and Rew should be riding at 2. I couldn't make that not rhyme. Sorry. Brummies need two riders that can be more than solid reliable middle order merchants at the very least... ideally they need one of those & a rider that can push Musielak for #1.1 point

To be fair seems a bit silly worky not being in the NDL as there more clubs rather than ntl all being more southern than worky1 point

Having watched a considerable amount ov youth racing I'd rate Rushen higher than Vale and Springer, both of whom averaged in the region of six in their debut season.1 point

You would have thought with the different time zone in Aussie he would actually be dropping the clutch earlier wouldn't you? 🤪1 point

Nothing really. Exactly the same rules for both 'leagues' just think of them as two completely different leagues with exactly the same rules and points limit. It minimises club expenditure but maximises rider track time because one rider can ride in both 'leagues'... It's actually a good idea from both the clubs and riders point of view... It's not about things looking good on paper in terms for teams and silverware at this level, just about maximising track time and experience for the young riders. (Which yes, can include having an experienced rider in the team to help bring them on, nothing wrong with that imo...)1 point

I think it might be a good idea if you got yourself a little more informed on what has happened at Coventry judging by your last couple of posts.1 point

I can't imagine why anything should change, if Workington weren't happy they should have brought it up before the rules were agreed & announced. Now some riders have 2 clubs, can't see how anything can change. Certainly Leicester's southern based riders won't want it to.1 point

I could use some very rude words to describe my feelings but they would serve no purpose. I saw two, three and four wheel racing and my parents must be turning in their graves at what happened to the stadium. They would be equally unhappy at the fate of all the London stadiums, Crawley Heath, Peterborough and so many others we enjoyed visiting for racing.1 point

i too dont think its the money that has attracted Willie to Poole . its more about grabbing as many medals as poss and being able to show his £5 .00 medal around hie shoulders . ribbons and metal dont pay the bills tho . good luck to him and his team for 2025 .1 point

Who is taking this seriously as a league? 3 teams with 2 from the same club, how many riders riding for different clubs in a 3 team league, and the title decider never happened when the brummies could not afford to race their final fixture, unfortunately just sums up the sad state of the sport now1 point

Yep rules should be consistent and follow precedents set like your Clifton example. Even this coming season, Edinburgh have got Palovaara back on a reduced average after a similar period of time away from British speedway. Yet Ritchings has been away from all speedway.1 point

Since the forum has had it rebranding, I don’t get notifications of if someone has responded, quoted or even like to a post anymore,I have to search through the topic to see if anyone has, have I got something switched off ? You used to get a number the side of the bell to tell you and you could click on it to see the notification but that’s gone now ?1 point

E-mail message from SCS Campaign. EIGHT years after speedway bikes and Formula 1 stock cars last raced at Brandon, our efforts to have the venue reinstated back to its established use as a leading motorsports stadium continue. During those eight years there have been numerous hurdles to overcome and battles to win, and a lengthy process was always likely in a situation where the site owners have their own different aspirations. Matters came to a head over the last two years when a planning application was unanimously refused by the committee members of Rugby Borough Council, and then even more significantly when that refusal was upheld on Appeal by a government-appointed Inspector. Despite the attempts of the applicants to circumvent both local and national planning policy and the clear ongoing need for the site as a motorsports venue, the outcome of the Appeal was that there is no prospect of the site having housing potential, regardless of whether or not a 3G football pitch is added. However, given that the decision was taken nearly a year ago, and there has been little apparent activity since then, many observers have quite reasonably been asking what happens next? In our previous communication over the summer, we made reference to the changing political landscape in the area, and in particular the fact that Rugby Borough Council is now led by Labour, with support from the Liberal Democrats, and with Councillor Michael Moran taking over as Leader. A reminder that the Rugby Labour manifesto states: “By 2035 a Labour-led council would ensure that health services meet population needs and that Rugby and the villages have thriving commercial centres where key buildings and venues, such as St Andrews Church and Brandon Stadium, are maintained with pride.” It’s important to note that on the specific matter of Brandon there is cross-party support, and with the formal planning process now exhausted there is a natural window to determine a route forward. So with the Council clearly of the view that Brandon Stadium should exist as exactly that – a stadium – we are pleased to confirm that we have entered into talks with Cllr Moran and the new administration, with the aim being to demonstrate how a viable and sustainable future for the stadium could be delivered. It is already public knowledge that there is significant interest from those who would wish to operate the venue, both for speedway and stock car racing, and several individuals spoke powerfully on this matter at the Appeal. The need for the sports to run at Brandon, and the desire to make it happen, is not in question. What we are currently working on is establishing a clear route to delivery, and an indication of the organisational structure once the venue is operational, and the viability of both of those strands. After eight years it seems almost perverse to ask supporters for patience, but both ourselves as a Campaign Group and the Council are in agreement that it is in nobody’s interest for matters to drag on for any longer than they have to, and substantial work continues to take place in a bid to accelerate matters. We have also been delighted to read confirmation of the plans for the commercial development of British Speedway, and the increase in television viewing and streaming figures, along with the highly impressive social media activity. With the increasing number of top riders competing in the UK, it all enhances the view that British Speedway is in an improving position, and the one thing that would turbo-charge that improvement would be the return of venues which should never have been taken away from the sport in the first place. It has also been most encouraging to follow another successful season of stock car racing, a sport which would receive another boost from the return of one of its most prominent venues. We urge everyone to remain positive and thank you for all the support you have given to help get to this stage, and we will report further as soon as we can.1 point
