Glasgow were going to run a NL team but think our only option this year was to enter the NL trophy and with all mostly southern based teams it was not viable but they do intend to something this year with the vue to entering a team next season4 points

Wow, speedway fans who like winning?! Who would have thought it? I guess it's difficult to appreciate down Plymouth way.3 points

Not disagreeing but it won’t won’t attract more fans .IMO.Fans that already attend don’t really want too pay more for an inferior product.3 points

They have weaken the 2nd level over the last few seasons but there has been a increase in Admission Prices, that won’t attract more fans.3 points

Interesting news story on the Brummies website… apparently they have managed to ‘lure’ Rew away from Ipswich… Pretty sure he lured himself away 🤣2 points

He's gonna say that though isn't he? It's a very generic thing to say when you've signed for a team. He's not gonna say 'despite the team looking sh ite I decided to sign anyway'2 points

1) The conversation rate is as above Prem x 1.5 2) The most recent average is used, so the 2024 Prem average is converted. As soon as a rider rides one match they revert to their Championship rolling ave. Last year rolling averages were from 2022-2024, if the 3 year rule continues, then next year it'll be 2023-2025 matches that count. If this is the case, the 2022 Champ matches will be ignored & the rider would get a new average after 8 matches.1 point

Sadly Brian the polar opposite is the commercial reality Arena (formerly ARC) own Perry Barr and also Wolverhampron Dunstall Park RaceCourse Entain (formerly Ladbrokes) own or at least have all of the rights to Monmore Green Both Perry Barr and Monmore green are part of BAGS - who have GLOBAL rights to Dog Racing that is beamed 24x7 across the World and particularly the very cash rich Asian and Far East Markets. Here's the rub of the green... MONMORE GREEN / MONMORE is the globally known Stadium name for dogs. I've never seen it branded Wolverhampton. Wolverhampton (occasionally Wolves) is the global branding for the Horse Racing - in the distant past it was known as Dunstall Park, the area of Wolverhampton it is situared in (Dunstall Hill). So in commercial terms for Greyhounds / Horses e.g the massive BETTING markets - the Wolverhampton tag is irrelevant and for all the global betting markets are concerned Wolverhampton (the place) could have 4 or 5 Tracks as long as the global TV and Web betting markets paid the necessary fees and commissions. In the past Birmingham could sipport Hall Green and Perry Barr just on crowds and UK betting markets. Wolverhampton could support Wilenhall and Monmore Green just on crowds and throw in Cradley Heath and Norton Canes too. Sadly Dogs corners the GLOBAL market....of course Betting was banned in Speedway for many years, not now, but may be Speedway missed a trick with betting at a time when many Dog Stadia were set up for Tote and Stadium Betting that could have revolutionised the Sport. Sadly i can find no solace (for Speedway) in Monmore losing dogs and Dunstall gains them.1 point

If Coventry, Peterborough, Wolverhampton were to be revived as we all hope that they will be, their only option would be a league lower that the Premiership. If they were admitted to the top league, it could only be through a massive reduction in the points limit which the existing Premiership clubs would be loathe to accept.1 point

If he wasn't at BV they wouldn't even care. Really wish Tai would sign for BV so can see all the back tracking from AB! lol1 point

It all stems from not enough riders, especially good riders in the Premiership, mugged away the chance back in the Elite/Sky days. If you had a stand alone Premiership with top line riders, without the doubling up of so many and only a few of the heat leaders from the championship in the Premiership it wouldn't be the problem, and you'd have natural progression from NL to championship with closer racing and progression of the ones to make it, or be competitive in the championship. Unfortunately through bad management/promotion of the product, those days have gone....shame, not enough teams left to do it now and the problems Poland have caused with race nights means almost no way back.1 point

Why is it an inferior product. If you build a reasonable 1-7 and are up against similar strength opposition then the racing should be just as good. Then it's,a question of how you promote/publicise your club and its fixtures.1 point

Compiling my updated Spreadsheet (only £13 for all 12 GP's😁), I have moved the qualifiers 2 places down from the 2024 format. I have made enquiries with Graham, Mike and Krister to see if they can get confirmation, before I make it available to purchase.1 point

I think most of the admission prices increase is down to the running cost, fuel, tyres, utilities etc weakening the product just goes some way to offset this.1 point
-
this has been true for a while now - the only answer is to weaken the 2nd level which they will resist but for the good of the future it should be made to happen. It would also make Div 2 cheaper to run in theory1 point

So a rider who as a rubbish meeting and finishes 10th can win the meeting, likewise a rider who finishes 3rd after 20 heats can end up with the points for finishing 9th I'm guessing. Not sure il bother watching next year1 point

Yet people are insistent that there's a shortage of riders... There's been so many in very recent years that have jacked it in after not finding a team or being bounced from team to team because of their average or performing too well... Ben Trigger next?1 point

No matter what Jack scores or what his average is, he struggles to find a team. Bit of a shame that.1 point

I fully get why there's question marks over this side. They've had to slightly weaken over the 2024 side. Belle Vue got lucky with Ipswich losing their top 2 & Woffinden missing for Sheffield. Saying all that, for 2025, they're 2nd to Ipswich on paper. Ipswich are way way clear of every team.1 point

Sadly his point scoring could be what's stopping him getting a team spot, there will be weaker riders than him getting team spots because they have 2 point averages. A rider missing out on a team spot can often me it was because they were "too good" the previous season - only in Speedway!1 point
-
His Dad put on Facebook that he didn’t have a team in the championship or NDL , which is incredible as I thought he was a good prospect . I think his point scoring proves he is ready for a championship reserve spot, he’s too good for NDL only.1 point

1. Bewley - will never be the 10+ rider everyone wants/expects him to be 2. Blodorn - has found his limit. A decent 2nd string who is too inconsistent to be anything more 3. Lidsey - in my opinion worse than B Cook who they’ve let go to keep Jaimon. Will never score enough points away from home 4. Z Cook - big downgrade on his brother. If he was at reserve a great signing, in the main body not so much. 5. Kurtz - Will Brady be as committed to UK speedway next year? Big season making his GP debut, as well as stepping up to Wroclaw… question marks raised over him this season with his antics, could we see even more next year? 6. Zischke - no one can question his talent and potential, but coming back from that serious of an injury and seeing all the away tracks for the first time, does make me feel nervous for Aces reserves 7. Mulford - the 2nd worst RS in the league with only Hagon behind him Again, like this year putting far too much pressure on Dan, Brady and Jaimon to score 35+ points a meeting to get them over the line. a longer tail than last year and worse 2nd string support. Aces will make the playoffs but that will be the end of the road for them1 point
-
As expected from Belle Vue. Blodorn, Cook should improve their starting averages, as should Lidsey who needs to become more effective away from the NSS. Kurtz was exceptional in 2024, same again please, but with GP's & Ekstraliga I'm expecting a dip Still waiting for Bewley to have a few Nielsen seasons, when he averages 10:50+ and is almost unbeatable. Mulford can hold his own at RS hopefully. Never seen Zischke, Voulas must feel hard done to. Along with Tigers & Witches, the Aces complete the annual 3 horse title race as expected.1 point

It's a good idea let's hope that if they run 6 man teams they give all riders 5 rides , no using one reserve 7 times and others only getting 3 rides. It's a development league and you don't develop being pulled out of your heats. there will be doom and gloom posters who think it's rubbish but with a lack of competitive riders at that level 10 plus teams can't run without separating the league. also can't wait for the it should be an upright league brigade to chip in.1 point
-
It'll be very hard to build a stronger team than last season, most teams have to weaken due to the points limit, even Plymouth finishes above 40. Dan T will be impossible to replace imo, but if he wanted to go, what can Plymouth do? Covatti & Barker aren't a good 1&5, but that's what they ran with last year. Possibly should've given Dan a run at 5 last year, see if Barker can find form as a "second string"? If that was the team for next year, so the same with Covatti (mind you, I expect him to remain with Edinburgh)?0 points
-
The "problem" is, in my opinion, there are quite a few NDL standard riders out there, it's just proving a too bigger step up to Championship level for a lot of them. I think Newcastle tried 3, maybe 4 and none of them were ready for the Championship and I include Jack Smith in that.0 points

Been trying to get a team place for 10 years, so can't see him signing for anyone in 2025, yes Glasgow used him, but the numbers fitted0 points
