https://ipswichwitches.co/louis-update-on-2025/ Fair play to Louis, nice to see on the youngster development front. Also even MORE work to the track to try and improve the racing at Foxhall. He’s doing everything he possibly can within the restrictions he has to provide the best racing possible there. Proper Speedway man. Not many left these days unfortunately.10 points

I’m amazed by the disservice Thomsen is getting here. It wasn’t his greatest ever season, but 10+2, 11+1 and 8+3, including a win over Masters (the highest averaging home rider in the league) at Oxford across the final three cup final meetings of the season is remarkable from reserve. Being British and possessing potential is one thing, but if I’m a Poole fan, I’m delighted with Thomsen’s return.7 points

Perhaps he just doesn't want to...? Does there need to be a reason? Perhaps he feels Glasgow is a worthwhile of a club to travel for where Scunthorpe isn't. With all due respect Glasgow is much more professionally run and much more likely to be chasing for honours.6 points

Always hoped he would sign for us, Shane is the main reason I fell in love with speedway as a kid and for those who don't know is my profile picture. Hope turns out to be a successful close to his old man4 points

precisely scunny are always top drawer at home and no team who manage that finishes near the bottom2 points
-
I think you are giving them too much credit. They will finish near bottom with that team. Allen is a 3rd heat leader at best, Lambert and Mountain are 2nd strings, they have no rider of 2nd heat leader quality.2 points

As stated by 89Buttons, selective quoting at its most political. Their fine reply also highlighted that, although BV *had* to release a rider, Cook ... a constant improver, fan favourite, and winner of the Alan Wilkinson Team Man of The Year Award ... rightly can feel as if he's been dispensed with.2 points

STOP REPLYING TO HIM/HER/THEM/WHAT or whatever the woke political term is that this Labour government want all of us to adhere to FFS!2 points

Chris Louis has announced a series of speedway meetings to be held at Ipswich in 2025. “We know this motorcycle sport is quite popular in Poland so we decided to treat bike fans to it in this country by being the first to stage this unique sport. Believe it or not these bikes don’t have brakes” Louis continued. “Following our recent invention of the wheel we thought it only right to see them in action on a racetrack. We always look to innovate and this aligns itself with last year’s initiative where we had bears pooing in Foxhall Woods - a first for both bears and woods”.2 points

I would have kept both personally but I do think Vinnie has a bit of maturing to do in my opinion before he reaches his full potential.2 points

Fraser has had a ride round Ashfield last season maybe we didn't like what we saw or maybe the track did not suit him but it will be good to see him riding at Glasgow when Comets visit2 points

I to would pair up Lawson & Cook. Adds a little protection for Cook until he gets his feet under the table. If Cook performs to the levels expected / predicted, after a month or 2, then I'd partner him up with the weakest of the top 5. A strong 3&4 can be match winning, being partnered together 3 times home & away, individually in heats 12 & 14. It's the engine room of every team.2 points

Vinnie wanted to stay, and so did one of his main sponsors, if Poole had their way and the 38pt limit was imposed I reckon he would of been retained, but as it was 40 pt limit the Poole promotion went in a different direction.2 points

For a start his Championship average is above many riders who have higher Premiership averages, such as: Sedgmen, Kerr, King, Worrall, Z Cook, Howarth, Wright & Zischke. So if he can beat them in the Champ, he should be able to beat them in the Prem. Then he showed what he can do on his best day with 16 points at Sheffield. His 2024 average for Oxford & Leicester was 5.40 (from 14 meetings). The reason he has a lower starting average must therefore be due to having low scores in final 6 meetings in 2023, which is not so relevant when judging his form ahead of 2025. I also said "but with Cook, you can never be sure what he'll do" but there's plenty of reasons for Leicester fans to be positive imo2 points

Yea northside arena is surrounded by them, and you may see windy Miller coming out of one, got to be a certain age to get this 😆2 points

Guess we won't agree on that prediction, think they'll be too good at home for that. Agree they don't have a strong second heat leader, not all clubs will though. Anyway be boring if everyone agreed all the time, the joy of pre-season predictions, anyone could be right.1 point
-
I'd call Allen a heat leader based on his overall average, but agree he's not strong away from home.1 point

What is your problem with Scunthorpe or more to the point the Promoter,Scunny are and will be top four again next season . Riders get paid on time every time unlike others1 point

Are you a Tory politician!!?? Selective quoting at its finest 🤣🤣 the following sentence… “I’m quite excited to be going back into battle with the same guys. Obviously, Keynan is one change, for his reasons mostly, which is fine and it’s certainly not closing the door on his Ipswich career. I like to think we gave him his chance and helped his first couple of years development, and he did make big improvements last year. I certainly don’t see that as the end of his Ipswich days that’s for sure.” Chris Louis1 point

As Danny Ford says If the points limit was 38 ( as in 2024) then Vinnie would be in the mix. However 40 points gives different options and a different mix of riders. I dane't know who else he has in mind?1 point

Exactly @lewy the "numbers game" is just an excuse for promoter's to use to avoid getting flack from the fans when dropping a popular rider, well in this instance especially. Once Ben & Tom left the remaining riders could have returned if Poole wanted them to. Poole have every right to build the team however they like obviously. But the points limit didn't stop Foord returning, Poole did.1 point

So it is as expected! Hopefully Worrall can be a proper number 1 and compete when Howarth couldn’t. Reliability in the middle order trio returning in that you know they’ll all be brilliant most weeks at home but put in some stinkers away. Allen at number 5 away is going to struggle imo. Then that unfortunately puts some pressure on the bottom 3 to up their averages. Harrison is doing fantastically and deserves a season to get his bearings in the main body but tbh I won’t be surprised if he gets even better. Then the Kennedy’s could really do anything. Zaine showed potential when he was over here before and it’s a lot of new tracks for Declan, but at least they’ve got the comfort of being at reserve.1 point

You want West?... Neath Speedway (look it up) now thats west! St Austell (look it up) or Trelawny - west of west! If you really wanted to "go west west west" Ballymena - now that would be as far west as Speedway has been in the UK! On the topic of West - Michael West - (he's coming to a Championship Club sort of in the West !)1 point

You could always take an extendable ladder and lean it up on the outer stadium fence. That way you can watch him without putting money in Chapmans pocket. 23 hours ago, Rickyag said: Well, we like watching Bomber whoever he rides for, but as he is riding forChapman then sadly we will not be watching Bomber anywhere for 2025.1 point

Bowes is an unknown quantity for myself personally but it is never easy coming into the British League. Looks like we are putting a lot of faith in Tate and Antti kicking on a bit next season 🤞1 point

So we've seen the likes of Connor Bailey and other youngsters drop out the sport due to mental health yet we seem to think its acceptable to continue to hound young Vinnie Foord. Away and give your head a wobble and get a grip, and ironically all done by hiding away behind a faceless profile, absolutely pathetic.1 point
