  1. I think fans who discredit this idea is taking the p!$$ to be honest. Woffinden has almost singlehandedly lifted Great Britain back on the world stage. Without this guy, we'd be nowhere near the medal tables in the 'Speedway of Nations', 'World Cup', 'Speedway Grand Prix'. He has given our up & coming young lads something to believe in & aim for. The belittling of his achievements & service by many to British Speedway overall is nothing short of absurd. Disgraceful in fact. Tai Woffinden IS a true 🇬🇧 legend

  2. Not a fan of having the riders championship early, means riders are picked for their 2024 form not 2025. For example Tate Zischke could end up being one of the top riders in the league but miss out on the CRC because of his starting average.

  3. Workington won't have let Cook go for no reason. Just as Glasgow and Edinburgh did!

  4. Got to admit a bit disappointed that Craig is not returning, but we move on, got a great track to watch whatever team is put together, let's get behind Andrew, Steve and Co, get behind the team and turn up in numbers every week, win lose or draw UTC

  5. Really pleased with and excited by that team. Ticks an awful lot of boxes for Lynn fans. We will be releasing a bonus episode of the Pride of the East podcast next week to discuss the 1-7, keep an eye on the socials for more information.

  6. Best KL side in years and they're the dark horses in 2025, No Superstars but it's rock solid and it's a tried and tested formula that's worked for the management in the past at Peterborough. I'll be chucking £10 on them as they're bound to be overpriced in the market, 100% Play-Off side barring injuries imo. No threat of riders walking out or falling out with the management because it's 6 Riders who've worked alongside Buster and Rob regularly in the past while the RS (Boughen) will have his mentor in the pits. KL also have 6 Riders who can all win races around the AFA on a consistent basis, The team is basically 6 x 3rd Heat Leaders and a Rising Star. Lastly a couple of these riders are on bargain GSA's, If Kvech done a full season then his average would've gone up and if Klindt didn't get injured then his average would've gone up as well due to his brilliant form around the AFA.

  7. These do not sound like the words of someone who is a true supporter. Before going into print with baseless personal opinions may I respectfully remind you that such rubbish could affect the club in a negative way. Don't forget that Andrew and Steve offered Craig a team place last season when no other club would and in doing so also led the way to a Premiership position and have put him in a very favourable position for getting a team position in both leagues next season. There will be reasons why Craig isn't back and although a loss speedway goes on and i'm sure the team put together will be competetive. UTC !

  8. Never a bad thing if a local MP wants to come spectate and better still becomes a fan as a result.

  9. Craig let himself down missing the ben fund and the comets team later when he was fit just didnt turn up i suspect steve and andrew had enough we will wait and see who can replace him?

  11. Yes, I saw Mark Jenkinson and family watching a few times over the last couple of seasons. He also did a bit of sponsorship by sponsoring a fence board. So maybe Josh wants to do his bit and help the Comets. If anyone knows him they should maybe mention it to him.

  12. For the full 'Oxford feel' you'll need to replace Kvech mid-season with Simon Lambert. 😝

  13. Have to disagree, how can you decide the best rider of 2025 before some of them will have turned a wheel in anger. Don't like that plan at all. And the pairs, was based on 2 of 3 highest averages in the side that year, most of them be lucky if turned out for club they're representing. Only thing less credible would be throwing a team full of guests into a cup competition... Oh wait

  14. That's why I'm putting together a 1-7 mostly full of British based riders that aren't rumoured for another club. I just cant see Tolley signing up a team of overseas riders as he's already gone public in regards to the financial situation at the club. I'd be looking at the ageing riders coming towards the end of their careers who may want to top up the retirement fund like Zagar, Kildemand, Kasprzak (If he's still riding). I think they'll get Thorssell due to the Wolves connections.

  15. Never seen much track grading or watering during a meeting at Scunthorpe, other tracks tend to do a few during the meeting. I will say that racing is top quality at Scunthorpe, as it is at Workington , Redcar and Glasgow, these tracks alongside BelleVue are the best in the country

  16. r/r fits nicely then

  17. A weak Birmingham or any other team for that matter is of no use to the League, lose Birmingham and the League is virtually unsustainable unless Peterborough/Wolves make a return. A bigger League will always be more conducive to maintaining the structure of British Speedway but it relies on individuals and sponsors to keep propping up these clubs.

  19. Great to see Plymouth back to the tapes in 2025, hilarious that the BSPA actually think supporters believe the KO cup draw is actually drawn. Poole again classic! With a 40 point limit, knowing Dan is moving on and that Alfie and Ben are likely to be back, a possible team that would be useful... Harris - 9.07 (with reduction) Bowtell - 5.07 (with reduction) Barker - 5.87 (with reduction) Joe - 5.63 (with reduction) Covatti - 6.67 Hagon - 4.73 (with reduction) Baek - 2.62 Total - 39.66

  20. The club will have reasons for letting Craig go and thats the harsh reality. Maybe a few off track issues may not have helped like running R/R at Redcar in a crutial meeting. Speedway is a numbers game and while the numbers dictate teams that maybe give the club no option. Whatever 7 the promotion put together will have my full backing. Im sure that whatever team represents the Comets we will be behind them come April. Naturally speedway is an expensive sport to run and promote which if you read each clubs pages they all would love more paying customers. We have one MASSIVE selling point.. Our Track. It is widely regarded as one of the best in British Speedway and a blueprint many current or lost clubs could only dream of. Looking forward to seeing our team release over the coming months.

  23. I think that do ten years and a testimonial is deserved, regardless of teams ridden for.. Especially as many riders get moved simply because of averages, and not down to being their choice... And with doubling up and down now prevalent, and tracks closing at almost one a year over the past decade, any rider nowadays has pretty much zero chance of staying with the same club in both leagues.. Supporting British Speedway for ten years on the bounce deserves some recognition...

  25. I'm not sure you are right about heats 13 and 15, at least I hope you're not .There are 6 riders in the team that ride lynn very well, we only need one of them on top form each week to draw those heats ,or 2 from 6 for an advantage. True there are no big names but there are some very capable riders in that team

  26. But what Boro did have was an unexpected 3 point improver at reserve first up who then got injured allowing horses for courses guests at the inflated average rather than a natural drop back meaning a stronger top end than the true picture

  27. Poole in the KOC is no more "mickey mouse" than this season where you had 1 team not entering and 2 given a bye to the semi-finals. It's fairer than giving a random side the bye and with the Holder brothers returning and a rare appearance from Woffinden there it's guaranteed a massive crowd.

  28. The more I look at it, the more I like this team. Sure, they will struggle in Heats 13 & 15 but they will always have strong riders and 2 and 6 and should comfortably win the majority of their home meetings. I am expecting Jan Kvech to push on towards an 8.00 ave this season. I can see this team finishing in the play offs behind Ipswich, Sheffield and potentially Oxford.

  29. Same. Wolves engine room of Schlein, S. Worrall and Z. Cook is a good shout assuming Rew heads to BV. Add in Thorssell and then it's 4 former Wolves riders.

  31. Pairs before Cardiff was very well attended as was when they were at Somerset, fans that travel far like us from Glasgow always did the pairs before Cardiff, hopefully Workington will get a good crowd but will likely be fans from the North that will attend, also having the clrc the day after at Scunthorpe may affect crowd levels, which would be a shame as both are superb race tracks

  32. 100%, even the winners of Edinburgh/Workington in the prelim round face Glasgow. This isn't coincidence. Makes sense in a way, but isn't very credible

  35. Nothing more surprising than an MP asking for a freebie, thinks he's got some sort of celebrity status...

  36. All KL need is for one rider to have a breakthrough season and become a No.1, Kvech could very well be that rider now that he's had a look at most tracks in the country. Only meetings I can potentially see KL losing at Home are against Ipswich but I'd fancy Ipswich to win at least 75% of their regular league fixtures next season. I totally understand the top end power opinions away from home but compare it to Sheffield for example who've got top end power but offers nothing when it comes to the tail end which only levels itself out imo.

  42. After taking all the announcements that have come over the last couple of week in I have to say that the class of 25 looks great. Yes I was one of those who wanted to see us part ways with King & retain Rew instead. However Emil Jason & Tom should take the pressure off the rest so hopefully they can enjoy their speedway. Reading the interviews again last night I think it’s clear Danny was close to the exit door however something appears to have changed with Rew at the 11th hour & King kept his place. If the rumours about Rew wanting more than Louis was willing to pay is correct, that was a misjudgment on Rews part trying to force more more than Louis was prepared to pay when Louis in effect had 8 riders to fill 7 places. Hopefully we’ll see Rew back at Foxhall in the future & I wish him all the best. However I’m not certain if Belle Vue is the right place for him if that’s where he ends up. Roll on March!!

  43. The only way Poole could build a competitive side without using Premiership riders would be to include Robert Lambert & Scott Nicholls for example. Anyway there's no reason other riders would be "cup tied" guests are allowed in the league, KOC & play-offs. Don't see why Poole borrowing riders is any less credible?
    2 points
  44. 6 of those I'd presume would be cup tied until their full time premier team is out of the competition? So to make it less Mickey Mouse you'd have to put a 1-7 together that dont have a current Premiership side which IMO would be impossible But then British Speedway lost all credibility years ago

  45. Testimonials used to be 10 years at one club (or more if contracts bought out by BSPA like Kyle Howarth’s), prior to 2024 Woffinden has not done a full season in UK since 2014, just a few meetings here and there at end of season when it’s suited him to earn a few extra quid, it of a joke this one really
    2 points
  46. Well speedway has just gone full on Mickey Mouse with this decision Irrelevant that it’s Poole it’s a cup competition for the top league and the top league only Basically it will be a Poole select side ….. as an Ipswich fan I don’t want Tom representing Poole and risking injury and not would whichever club Ben Cook rides for Absolute farce of a decision

  49. As much as it isn’t credible it makes sense on a sport that often seems to be on the precipice financially. My team (Berwick) have drawn Redcar so more than likely I will attend both legs as will many other Bandits fans and Redcar fans vice versa which helps both promotions. For once I actually think common sense is prevailing within our sport’s decision makers.

  50. Average side with 2 second strings riding at 1 and 5 Might get in the play offs but at the tail end of a meeting with Doyle Emil Bewley Kurtz Holder and Tai they will be found wanting
