  1. I once had someone tell me I knew nothing about Adam and that he and Adam were going out for a beer together that night. Which struck me as weird as Adam and I were having lunch in Bordeaux at the time.

  2. My guess... Bomber, howarth, flint, Dan T, Joe T, JP, Fraser bowes, borke, ablitt, hodder, boughen. Have I missed anyone?

  3. to find out who the next 5 riders will be . look into the highest scorers @ G;asgow from an away rider. make that 4 remaining riders as Claus will be one. its so simple when you try to buy the league . innit ? Hmm . forgot about Harris not returning , so make it 5 riders remaining .

  5. Next season will have an extra blank Saturday inserted for the Belle Vue GP. I have always believed that, especially with a lighter fixture-list, clubs should consider starting quite a bit later, mid- to late-April at the earliest, and thus offer their prospective patrons a greater continuity of fixtures over the warmer, lighter months. Start at Easter (April 19 is the Saturday) and even if last year's clean sheet with the weather was to be repeated (hah!) the bare minimum BSN , KO Cup and Championship fixtures -- having allowed for two GPs and the British Final to be mandatory blank Saturdays -- would take things through to the end of July. With the possibility of rearranged dates for rained-off meetings, plus the pleasant thought of progress in a couple of the competitions, that's the season running on to the end of August at least.............

  6. Don't know why this is on the Poole '25 thread. Poole riders always do the 'celebratory' lap with wheelies, donuts, burnouts, waving to the fans etc etc.😇

  8. Having seen William Cairns a few times at Worky it is undeniable what a talented and confident prospect he is. Having said that I just hope he is well managed and not overly pressurised in his first season or two. He also needs to be lucky on the injury front. I wish him well.

  10. Given Ipswich’s announcement this morning there is definitely a chance that they going the same again. If that is the case then Birmingham have pulled a blinder keeping Brennan. Given recent development Brummies team could be: 1. Musielak - 8.21 2. S Worrall - 5.84 (5.69) 3. Brennan - 6.69 (6.52) 4. Douglas - 7.30 5. Thorsell - 7.33 6. Lampart - 4.93 7. Edwards - RS Total - 40.3 (39.98) 👀👀👀

  11. A lot of people hear different things, and supporters talk, and this time of the year as ive been told by very reliable sources, that things can literally change at the very last minute. It may of happened here, but it may not of done, Doyle and Brennan could easily be the last 2 announced and Keynan has decided to go somewhere else, whatever the final decision by the club is made we as Supporters just need to buckle down and get on with it. I was one of those that didn't think Danny Should return this season, and I standby that, but i certainly won't be against him once those Witches Kevlars are on him in early March. He has taken some serious stick over the last 24 Hours from some quarters, and I'm always a big believer in if you pay your money you are entitled to an opinion....But some of the rubbish Danny has received over Yesterday and today for me is a bit OTT, have a sporting opinion yes, but let's not let it turn nasty. He has a Family that reads this stuff as well. To be fair, my 2 sources are not far out with the Ipswich side they predicted, and i still trust them, quite a few of us, if not ALL of us thought one of Danny or Adam would be the one to make way for Brennan, and it could be Rew who makes way due to a number of reasons. We will just have to wait and see, still could be twists and turns....

  12. Totally agree with this point. I hate to see winners just return to the pits. I can understand it if they’ve got a quick turnaround to their next outing or if there’s a mechanical issue but otherwise they should accept the appreciation of the crowd. Sensible statement from Danny Ford.

  15. Doesn't matter if it's Rew, Brennan or Uncle Tom Cobbley, Ipswich are going to start the season as the team to beat once again.

  16. Whatever team we end up with I’ll be there supporting them every week next season regardless if it’s the same side as 24 or with the addition of Brennan. I am one of those who wanted to see King replaced this winter & I know not everyone agrees but you pays your money and as a supporter you are entitled to an opinion. Personally I can only see Danny’s form dipping further next season we should done as Sheffield have with Howarth & said thank you for your service but it’s time for a change. The above doesn’t mean I’m not a true supporter & I will always get behind the riders that pull on the Witch. Now if Danny proves me wrong I’ll be the first to say I was wrong on here & take the stick for it. Lets see who the final 2 are over tje next few days!

  17. Yeah it really annoys me too. You just get the impression that some of them don't get it or don't care. The age of the multi club rider appears to have fostered a culture of aloofness and less affinity with the fans. I don't think they realise how much fans clock this. Fans pay there wages, they should remember this and acknowledge them at every opportunity that presents itself, it goes a long way and costs nothing.

  18. Fixture list last year was a shocker July a busy holiday month was virtually empty If not 2H 2A make at least League cup 2 groups not three or open with 2 challenge matches

  22. If Rew doesn't ride for us next season hopefully he won't ride for anyone else and do what Lidsey did with BV and come back to us as a trump card another season

  23. "It seems the bike market as said above is at an all time low" Definitely not at an all time low, I have auction catalogues going back 30 years all marked up, if you go back to around 2000-2005 you can see Honda C50/C90 and CG125's estimated at £50-80 the current price these are making shows where the growth is, similarly BSA 500 Gold stars were estimated £5000-6500 and 350 Gold stars £4000-5000, while the prices are on the way down, they have not yet slid to an all time low, although taking in inflation buying classics is not the "investment " it was, buy it today, sell it tomorrow, make a small profit is the nature these days, keeping the wrong thing for years and expecting a substantial profit has ended I am afraid.

  24. I think Danny’s average will fall for one reason … he is riding at number 2 As a number 3 you face opposition heat leaders in every race along with a weaker rider from each team … let’s say at number 3 you lose to the opposition heat leader but beat the two lesser riders … that’s 8 points from 4 rides If Danny rides at number 2 he will be with Doyle and an opposing heat leader so in those instances he will get three third places and hopefully a win in heat 8 thus making 6 points Some brain dead Ipswich fans will probably not understand this and expect that Danny’s average will rise

  25. If my understanding is correct a riders fixed term contact expires at 23:59 on the final day in October. Therefore riders are not released. Their contract expires which is a totally different legal situation. If the asset system was challenged in court I am sure it would be found to be restraint of trade which is not allowed for a self employed contractor unless specifics are named. This is not the case with the standard contract.

  26. I dont see that at all, he had some good meetings last season and he was carrying an injury so if he can get the hand sorted the only way is up.

  29. An injured King riding in the top 5 averaged more than Rew racing most of the season at reserve. Don't see how that makes the middle order look vulnerable? They were the strongest team last year (till injuries occured) if they've replaced Rew with Brennan, now they're even stronger.

  32. Very sensible and makes complete sense. Poole are in the fortunate position of being well supported. For other clubs even the Championship is financially challenging. The big challenge for those running and promoting the sport is how to make it more appealing in order to effect an increase in supporter numbers. Riders must also realise they also have an integral part to play in this, for instance way too many just ride back to the pits after winning races.

  33. I’m sure something has changed late on, either Rew isn’t coming back or for commercial reasons Brennan is staying at Brum. If it’s the same 7 we know we’ll be competitive but as you all know I would have preferred to see one change Brennan for King. The problem with the same 7 is we will really struggle to beat Belle Vue over 2 legs & we will need to do that in the play offs to take the title. or could the unthinkable happen & Doyle isn’t coming back ?

  36. Hmmmmm. Something has gone wrong somewhere. Either Rew is giving UK a miss, or Brennan is now staying at Birmingham. Jungle drums had Brennan in, but now out. Let’s see.

  39. Unfortunately prices are bombing in the classic car and bike markets including speedway bikes, 2 valve Jawas are particularly bad, japs have pretty much halved in price, weslake’s seem to be holding up but have never really been high priced, there have always been dips and highs and it’s definitely a buyers market at the moment but this time I struggle to see where the next high is coming from, the older collectors are dying off and the younger generation are just not interested in classics, in the car market things like pre 1970 cars are not selling as the new collectors couldn’t care less, they think a classic is an escort XR3I or a sierra cosworth
