I have known Danny since he was a teenager and he is an absolute diamond, I honestly don’t see why he gets the criticism he does, he busts a gut to race for Ipswich is reliable, friendly and very approachable and when fit scores good points especially around foxhall. Every rider has up and down years, I thought he explained it very well.6 points

FWIW Chris Holder lives in Northamptonshire he has moved from the south coast.3 points

Just as well you never used shortlist as the riders we are linked with on here is anything but short.2 points

I'm just guessing so take it with a pinch of salt. But I'm just trying to use as much logic as possible in regards to what Stewart likes (Continuity and British based riders) Taking the Lawson to KL rumour into account and that was the 7 riders I was left with. My logic for each rider was this. Fricke (Club Captain and Fans rider of the season) Howarth (Common knowledge that he's signed) Douglas (Stay at a stable club or roll the dice with BIR knowing they could go under mid-season) Becker (Well in with the managment like Danny King is at Ipswich) Masters (Stewart's rider of the season so he'll want Sam back) Cook (Sedgmen or Kerr wouldn't fit if the top 5 is correct) Hagon (Already confirmed)2 points

Depends where we are in the queue for the riders Glasgow reject after the interviews.😂😂2 points

Danny riding at 2 or 4 is a fantastic signing … not so much if he is at 3….. can easily see him scoring 6 or 7 at home every week and with a strong top 3 that’s all we need…. Though im sure first meeting of the season lets say home to Belle Vue and he is in heat 1 and gets third behind Doyle and Kurtz that some Ipswich fans will moan about it lol2 points

The silence out of Scunny is deafening me. So I'm starting a thread. Is there anyone out there ?1 point

I’m just playing devils advocate. I agree with you, Ipswich should do everything they can to strengthen, just putting it out there for debate1 point

Definately on the fuel, but always thought it wasn't beyond the ability of manufacturers to get around 100mpg and 150bhp with extremely low co out of a 1.0litre petrol engine without the ecological disaster of getting the lithium for electric cars. Still think the way it should of gone first, no one wants second hand electric cars and disposal is a nightmare. Anyway hope alls well at the track1 point

I know he didn't have one of his better seasons but truly sad that Kyle is leaving the club.....first and foremost thankyou Kyle for all the thrill you have given us in your time with Sheffield in both divisions.its been an absolute joy following you in the team, always gave us 110% wherever you were racing and I'll never forget the pairs at Somerset when you won it with Charles...epic riding that night.i don't think this club could have wished for a better captain and it goes without saying that I hope all tigers fans and fans around, including myself, take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the future........thanks a lot skipper!1 point

Is Howarth a realistic possibility? Worked with Stewart at Leicester and would be a back up to Schlein?1 point
-
I certainly wouldn't be excited if it's true. At No.6 I might be a bit happier with it, but I've seen nothing in his latest visits to make me think he's going to recapture great form. Having said that, if it means we get a good No.5 in for a weaker engine room? I could take that.1 point

He also intimated at the speedway show that Brennan was leaving Brum but Lord Tolley said "are you sure about that?"1 point

And fancy having those two in the pits helping out. it looks like the same team with Ellis leaving to make way for Brennan.1 point

Probably right but sometimes its about blowing smoke up fans bottoms, to make it looked like they tried Won't know until the announcements whethers its no GP rider at all or in addition to Lindgren, just hope for the league Lindgren is in as he's done it before for several seasons1 point

Happy to see Danny back - sorry to see whoever leaves leave to be frank - there team was fine last year and only a bad run of injuries probably prevented a win but thats what happens sometimes. I don't get the anti Danny stuff on SM either it wouldnt occur to me ever to post stuff like that but there you go - think not being at no3 will be good for him.1 point

Personally I think whoever leaves will end up Aces No 4 ? Ellis is good mates with Bewley who knows? and Lemmo is a fan of Rew ?1 point

I'm not sure why they are in such a rush to announce signings before the AGM. Even if you think the points limit is settled, it's not 100%. By all means I would've announced Sayfutdinov, get everyone excited for the new season, but I probably would've kept quiet about the rest.1 point

I don't think they meant they all live in the same building! Just that they live near each other.1 point

Can’t agree, he’s been doing it for donkeys years. If he had any issue with it whatsoever then he’d have told his best mate and he’d have taken it off him. I’ve heard that about King’s interview a few times now. I think he basically summed up how we were all feeling at the time. It was pretty desperate wasn’t it? Only so many times you can round up the troops before another kick in the nuts can do for the best of us. It was relentless. Himself, Ellis, Dan, Doyle and then Emil hammering the final nail in the coffin. Not sure any amount of cheerleading would have gotten anymore out of the team, it was done, over.1 point

A reserve pairing & the return of Emil is great news I was always hopeful he would be back but nervous that he wouldn’t be. Doyle appears nailed on & hopefully Rew will return too. Now the King or Ellis debate. I’m definitely in the retain Ellis release King camp. I know that’s not popular with a lot however my reasoning is as follows. If King returns than that would certainly see him also retain the captains arm band & for me I don’t think he is skipper material. King can’t team ride for toffee & doesn’t support his team mates on track. The difference in bonus points scored last season between King & Ellis illustrates that. king is only going one way now & that decline will continue. Far to many times over the last couple of seasons King has been on the wrong end of heat advantages & losing out to riders he should be beating at home. Also throwing away points by riding the wrong lines & getting into trouble Ellis gives a little more in terms of team riding & does still have some improvement left in him. Ellis is the side would also see Doyle as captain & that can only be a good thing. My thoughts1 point

I put a tenner on with bet 365 that he would sign with Oxford then fall out with everyone at Oxford and reneges the deal. He then becomes the 44th rider to sign for Glasgow and gets his throttle fixed so as it only turns the faster way. Waiting on my cash out offer so I care.1 point

The financial stuff is all sorted now. All the clubs owe something at the end of the season, just that not every promotion is honest enough to admit so.1 point

Your right , theres not a lot to do around the stadium and I would think parking is going to be a problem as well, as for hotels there is a premier inn not to far away and a direct bus route to the stadium. KFC not to far away and a Mcdonalds I think, its not like going to cardiff where there is a lot going on the entertain the visitors.1 point
