He has a massive chip on his shoulder when it comes to Ipswich for some unknown reason but try not to bite. He’s also very wrong. Unlike his club that dumps young British riders (Connor Mountain) in a desperate attempt for silverware, Ipswich are well known for being loyal and standing by their riders even at the expense of success on track. There isn’t another club that would have stood by Erik Riss all season long whilst suffering with long term illness which almost certainly contributed to losing the title in 2023.3 points

This is why I'm cheering on Ipswich whilst the Panthers aren't on track. Ritchie's supporting our fight to reach our goal so it's only fair that we support Ipswich's fight to reach their goal (PREM Title)2 points

you need to find some space in Poole and build a track and be in control of everything . you have the fans to support such a venture .2 points

But don't Oxford own their stadium, whereas Poole have to pay extortionate rent to a rogue landlord every time that they want to put a meeting on. If there was a justified business case to run an NDL team then I'm sure they would.2 points

Kenni Larsen is the last rider people would have thought as dangerous. His gating ensured he was nearly always coming out of the second bend in first place. One of the nicest riders to ride in British Speedway2 points

It’s a worse team than this years. Desperately need to find a big hitting support act for Max2 points

Oxford run an NDL team and it’s extremely profitable. Close to 1,000 people turn up each time a meeting is held. If Oxford can do it, surely ‘the best club in the world’ can make it a success.2 points

Hi guys, starting tonight at 7:30pm on YouTube, Plymouth Speedway are showing weekly reruns of their 2024 home meetings that were streamed live by Gladiators TV.1 point

I believe the 'Kids go free for Summer' didn't bring in any more kids even though hundreds of vouchers were given out in schools. It's difficult, the sport in its present form probably requires some form of re-invention. Kids can get bored easy so this has to be taken into consideration as well. Think the club needs a single point of entry through an electronic pay booth along the lines of the one at Redcar. All other possible points of access need to be properly secured because it is relatively easy to gain access at points around the stadium. Much needed toilets with wash basins, a catering facility serving hot food and an improved PA system would all represent great improvements for next season. I felt that the 'Comets lager' initiative has been a success as well as a decent brew. Some fans missed it when it went out of stock at the back end of the season. I would appeal to fans to refrain from bringing in their own alcohol but support Andrew and the club as every little helps. Most stadia do not allow alcoholic drinks to be brought in. Re Start Times : difficult one this . A nice warm weekend afternoon can be attractive, fans can sit and have a drink or ice cream etc. With either a 3pm or 5pm start on a Saturday or Sunday and most visiting fans from the Northern Teams should still get home at a reasonable hour. Personally I have always felt that speedway looks better under floodlights, the light level has to be very good and general stadium lighting would be required which at the moment is probably not financially doable. Having such lighting would however open up the possibility of evening racing.1 point

Aren't they trying to build housing at Matchams though?1 point

Richie has done more than Keith Chapman, Dale Allitt and Rob Lyon in showing supporting the Panthers.1 point

No, Kevin Boothby secured a 10 year lease when he took over the running of the stadium.1 point

Not sure what Steve has got ‘ factually slightly wrong ‘ but the essence of the discussion is that there are riders, 125 & 250 , available but you are saying they won’t travel mid week, which is understandable but does seriously limit their options when it comes to riding. The MDL has struggled since the nomad teams were kicked out, another brilliant SCB interference, and it seems won’t include 125’s for reasons known only to themselves. The NJL never had an issue even though they had three Friday night tracks but attitudes are different now and riders would rather ‘practice’ at a home track than ‘race’ at an away track. The NJL will struggle to field meaningful teams in 2025 and I have suggested in the past that perhaps it’s time to look at a ‘ GP Style ‘ individual meetings, for each class, held perhaps twice at each competing track to give all riders meaningful racing and riders can chose which rounds to ride in but must compete at least once at each track. Just a thought….1 point

I understand that completely, not denying that's the right thing to do at all. My (tongue in cheek) reply was to a comment that Poole fans are the best in the world. Following that premise then they should all turn up to NDL matches & the Ford's would make an even bigger profit! Honestly I'd have to say Oxford have the best fans, they turn up in sufficient numbers to run teams in all 3 leagues, plus put up with a team manager who apparently tried to hinder them. Massive credit to the Oxford fans* from me. * Before someone says anything, not the ones who verbally or physically abused opposing fans or riders of course, not singling them out, sadly all clubs will have a few bad eggs.1 point

Only a fans opinion, overall the crowds were ok, a couple of wobbles with low crowds, but may have been offset with the very large crowds early on, or against Glasgow, the promotion have done a hell of a job with sponsorship, thanks all 😊 and the supporters club done a great job. So hopefully all this may have made a successful season. On to 2025 UTC1 point

1. Fricke - 9.14 2. Howarth - 5.06 3. Tarasenko - 6.77 4. Becker - 6.57 5. Wozniak - 7.50 (ass) 6. Sedgmen - 4.79 RS. Hagon Total - 39.83 This is best Leicester team I can come up with that is somewhat realistic given Wozniak used to ride for the club and that Tarasenko had an excellent debut for Lynn there this season just gone. Does mean that Dickson would have to go against his approach of signing UK based riders, but he may have too this coming season1 point

All quiet on the team building, probably waiting till after the AGM (some promotors party in the sun) What's anyone's thoughts of trying a later start time in the high summer months ? Maybe a 5 or 6 o clock start ??? This may attract more fans, as it's the nearest to a night meeting we can get without lights, people can have family time but still go to speedway, and maybe able to go to work and speedway. Thoughts please1 point

If injuries don't strike again then Ipswich stroll to the title. Basically a 1-7 that's stronger than this years 1-7 that was firing on all cylinders where's other teams will be weaker by having to release riders.1 point

What I'm trying to say, If Oxford were going top heavy in 2025 then both reserves would've been Cheetahs riders for sure (Killeen + Boughen/Jenkins) in order to get some continuity going and one of Boughen/Jenkins would've opted out of the RS scheme if they had a guaranteed deal to be the No.6 for the Spires because the rider in question wouldn't be missing out on a team place by opting out of the RS scheme. That's why I don't believe Oxford are going top heavy.1 point
-
Somebody who's been in a reserve berth position for the whole of their careers and never really progressed from that. That's okay as the sport needs these type of riders, but there's been a lot of hype surrounding Boughen unlike the other 2 named riders.1 point

Ipswich aren’t “dropping” anybody. Every rider is out of contract on October 31st.1 point

I wondered that myself so looked at the profile. It has no blue tick, but it's been there since 2016. Also he is followed by, amongst others, Darcy Ward, Jason Crump, Natilie Quirk and Chris Holder and Kelvin Tatum. It's also the only Dan Bewley account on X. I think it's genuine.1 point

It’s their perogative.” This “ best Club in World “is just bickering among the usual suspects. Its certainly a success at Oxford but I’m sure you will find that is not the case at some other Clubs.Poole run a successful business model, why would they change it.1 point

They could always run an NDL team on the blank Wednesdays.1 point

If true, why can't they convince the fans to turn up on Thursdays for Premiership racing? Or even enter a NDL team as well as Champ? If they are the "best supporters ever" they'll turn up & support the team whatever right?1 point

BIRMINGHAM Speedway are delighted to confirm their participation in the 2025 ROWE Motor Oil Premiership. The Brummies have met conditions that were recently agreed following a cash flow crisis at the end of the 2024 campaign. And club CEO Nigel Tolley informed league chiefs of their position at a British Speedway Promoters’ Ltd meeting on Tuesday. “It goes without saying that it’s a massive relief,” Tolley said. “The situation has been changing day-by-day but with some hard work behind the scenes and the generosity of people out there, we found ourselves in the position we needed to be at at this stage. “We’re not completely out of the woods just yet but we’re where we needed to be at this point to be back at the tapes next season and just as importantly, we now have a path that will enable us to clear all outstanding debts in the near future. “Team building for 2025 is underway and I will do everything I can to build a team the supporters can really relate to and get behind because I think that’s something they missed out on a little bit this year. “We’re certainly not just hanging in there to make up the numbers and our aim is to be a much more competitive force in next year’s Premiership. “We can now start going back to the riders we’ve already been speaking to and hopefully we’ll be able to announce our first signing by the end of this week.”1 point

The importance of the AGM has lessened to a massive extent in recent years. Now it is only about tidying u loose ends. Most teams are there not thereabouts by now.1 point

Yes, but it’s usually replacing 1 rider to bring you back under the limit. Leicester could be in the situation where they have to replace 3 riders who were probably all on inflated averages and come to tapes in 25’ with a less competitive side. For the life of me when they were told they were finishing top due to ‘commercial reasons’ I don’t understand why they didn’t throw their remaining meetings to drop everyone’s GSA’s to put them in a better position for team building0 points
