  3. Lions manager Stewart Dickson’s Rider of the Year was Sam Masters, whilst skipper Max Fricke took the Supporters’ Club award. Luke Becker, who along with Richard Lawson, was racing in Germany on Saturday, was named as Most Improved Rider. What planet are people on? Surely Lawson wins rider of the season ! And becker most improved? HE dropped half a point on his average . Totally mind boggling

  4. Wherever he ends up he should be encouraged rather than vilified a young kid who clearly has talent but a raw talent. Starting a thread questioning if a young kid is dangerous is over the top.

  5. OK, if the grown-ups can have this thread back, the interesting news from today is that Eastbourne are submitting an application to join the NDL next season, staging home matches at Iwade. I do wonder what sort of response they'll get.

  15. Crashfield 😂, did you come up with that yourself 👏🏻, have a wee gold star for your clever wit and banter. Why would Glasgow buy another new fence when they've already bought FIM safety Fence for the 2025 season? Back to the playground and try and pick up some better 'banter' , least be bitter and funny rather than just bitter and attention seeking.

  16. Anyone out there like myself love to watch a 4 team tournament. Seem to be sadly lost in the calendar. Possibly now only seen in a testimonial meeting. So who is in favour of the return of this format in a meeting. I suggest in the league have one home and away fixture with each club. Then do a four team tournament where each club visits one another home and away. Also keep the ko cup to be finalised at the end of the season. Now there is three trophies up for grabs. More interest and excitement to bring to the sport.

  17. Not a great weather forecast for Poole on Wednesday. Always a risk with these early winter meetings. As for the result , think Winnie Fooord won it last week by taking out 2 Oxford riders. Seems he has literally KO'd Killeen out of the KO Cup. 😞 So a hollow Poole victory is on the cards ...assuming they can find a dry Wednesday befor the end of October.

  18. How very sad. Len was one of the true PROMOTERS of speedway. A decent rider in his younger days - Provincial League Riders Champion - injury meant Len taking up the Promoter reins at Hackney. As a PROMOTER he had no equal, and we will not see his like again in the sport. He always put 100% into PROMOTING his clubs from his early days at Hackney through to his construction and Promotion at Sittingbourne. R.I.P. Leapin' Len and Thank You for providing me with some great Speedway Entertainment over the past 60 + years.

  19. He really excelled around Leicester with his solitary 4 point score... I think he bottled the rest of his appearances 🍼

  20. I would get rid of Fricke after his performance in the final. Bring in a proper number 1 like Artem Laguta. Somebody who excels in play-off matches.

  21. Your welcome to donate, but has it been endorsed by Poole Speedway? And if you donate you are giving your money to 'anonymous Poole fan' - for all we know that could be 'lucifersam' and he's planning to give all your Poole pennies to Luke and Jody.

  22. Over 70 years, that's quite some history in the sport. And only last weekend present at Oxford. One of the sport's most notable characters. Leaves only Reg Fearmam of the 'famous five' behind Allied Presentations.

  23. Haven't seen them posted apart from a filled out program on the Kent speedway Facebook page, looked like it was 47/43 to Thurrock on that.

  24. Best riders Belle Vue have recently snapped up Brady 7.50 Ben 6.00 Max 4.80 Jaimon 4.00 Tom 4.00 Norick 4.00 Dan 3.00. The fact most weren’t interested in them at the time we signed them made it easier for us to “snap them up”.

  26. That might be what the crowd funding collection is to pay ? It's already raised enough and Chuck in a few Rusty washers and ermolenko's wage for the season is paid.

  27. I seriously have no idea what you’re even talking about anymore. all we’re doing is predicting what the team might be, it’s not that deep

  28. Fricke 9.14, Lawson 6.91, Becker 6.57 & Masters 7.32 leaves 9.06/10.06 for a No.2 & No.6 depending on a 39.00 or 40.00 limit. If it's a 39.00 limit then Zach Cook 5.57 & Leon Flint 3.00 but it would leave you weak at reserve and you'd think the Lions management wouldn't want to go down that route again after it backfired with Kemp. Two from the following pool if it's a 40.00 limit -> Wiktor Lampart 4.93, Justin Sedgmen 4.79, Lewis Kerr 4.77, Craig Cook 4.55 & Connor Mountain 4.38. I agree, Becker was awful for most of the season, Well in with the management though isn't he? So could be a case of playing favourites.

  30. That's you're opinion but it would still finish higher than any Lynn team no-one knows how Zischke will perform yet in premiership but he could easily turnout to be prolific

  31. JCB back on board for 2025. Judging by the awards night and what Dickson has said already, It's likely Fricke, Masters, Lawson and Becker will be the backbone of the team.

  32. I disagree. It's not far wrong.

  33. Could be a while then as the UK hasn't got a pot to p155 in! Maybe someone should start a crowd funding page for the junction 😂

  34. You’d have imagined him being listed in Oxford’s line-up would have been the answer….then again, we’re talking about Peter Shroeck.

  35. Yes, but look who started it. Says it all really. I have enjoyed watching him at Poole this season, entertaining and edge of your seat whenever he is out. If he ends up with you guys, he'll definitely get a good reception when he comes back down here.

  39. Hi all Newcastle speedway fans if anyone is interested in going to Bellevue for the British GP on Saturday June the 14th 2025 I will run a bus & pick up from the home of the Noe defunct diamonds sadly... Brough park at about 10am in the morning so we get to Manchester around about 2pm & gives us plenty time to visit the fan zone etc before the speedway starts & the bus will be leaving about half n hour after the meeting finishes so we get back to Newcastle for roughly 10pm .. just give me a message if anyone would like to go & I'll run a bus no problem

  40. You're forgetting, Arnie, that woke can mean anything the speaker or writer wants it to mean. Usually it just means anything you disagree with.

  41. And that's woke is it? I'm not sure i agree with the wildcard choices but describing it as "woke" is ridiculous tbh.

  44. the whole season has basically been a dead rubber as the top four have been confirmed for months, might as well just start the season with the play offs in future.

  45. They were gonna try that with the jubilee league, but changed their mind, probably because they thought they wouldn't get a good crowd for a neutral venue. I don't think 1st & 2nd would be happy that everyone gets an extra home match except them!
