Can you both disappear back to the Poole thread, don't want this pathetic rubbish on here.5 points

Hi there I'm a Nigerian Prince, I wonder if you could help me? ....4 points

Lions manager Stewart Dickson’s Rider of the Year was Sam Masters, whilst skipper Max Fricke took the Supporters’ Club award. Luke Becker, who along with Richard Lawson, was racing in Germany on Saturday, was named as Most Improved Rider. What planet are people on? Surely Lawson wins rider of the season ! And becker most improved? HE dropped half a point on his average . Totally mind boggling4 points

Wherever he ends up he should be encouraged rather than vilified a young kid who clearly has talent but a raw talent. Starting a thread questioning if a young kid is dangerous is over the top.4 points

OK, if the grown-ups can have this thread back, the interesting news from today is that Eastbourne are submitting an application to join the NDL next season, staging home matches at Iwade. I do wonder what sort of response they'll get.3 points

Crashfield 😂, did you come up with that yourself 👏🏻, have a wee gold star for your clever wit and banter. Why would Glasgow buy another new fence when they've already bought FIM safety Fence for the 2025 season? Back to the playground and try and pick up some better 'banter' , least be bitter and funny rather than just bitter and attention seeking.2 points

He had a good innings and kept the sport going at great financial cost to himself. Lived and breathed Speedway. Former Provincial league riders champion but as others have said he really came to the fore as a promoter. Inextricably linked to Hackney and Rye House, particularly the latter where the sport only existed because of him and his financial input. One of the best if not the best GB team managers in his day despite backstabbing from other promoters with half his ability. Throw in the fact that he was a top rate track curator and we see there weren’t many areas a of the sport where he was wasn’t a powerful force. The sport is now a poorer place without him1 point

He really excelled around Leicester with his solitary 4 point score... I think he bottled the rest of his appearances 🍼1 point

I would get rid of Fricke after his performance in the final. Bring in a proper number 1 like Artem Laguta. Somebody who excels in play-off matches.1 point

Your welcome to donate, but has it been endorsed by Poole Speedway? And if you donate you are giving your money to 'anonymous Poole fan' - for all we know that could be 'lucifersam' and he's planning to give all your Poole pennies to Luke and Jody.1 point

Over 70 years, that's quite some history in the sport. And only last weekend present at Oxford. One of the sport's most notable characters. Leaves only Reg Fearmam of the 'famous five' behind Allied Presentations.1 point

good point he wouldn't have come cheap for sure ?? not the best choice by a long way !!1 point

That might be what the crowd funding collection is to pay ? It's already raised enough and Chuck in a few Rusty washers and ermolenko's wage for the season is paid.1 point

The Cairns are close with Greg Hancock who as well all know mentors Luke Becker and William Cairns. So Luke will be a lion next season. I can see Sedgmen signing. He had great start to the season riding at 2 but lost form towards the end .1 point

I seriously have no idea what you’re even talking about anymore. all we’re doing is predicting what the team might be, it’s not that deep1 point

Fricke 9.14, Lawson 6.91, Becker 6.57 & Masters 7.32 leaves 9.06/10.06 for a No.2 & No.6 depending on a 39.00 or 40.00 limit. If it's a 39.00 limit then Zach Cook 5.57 & Leon Flint 3.00 but it would leave you weak at reserve and you'd think the Lions management wouldn't want to go down that route again after it backfired with Kemp. Two from the following pool if it's a 40.00 limit -> Wiktor Lampart 4.93, Justin Sedgmen 4.79, Lewis Kerr 4.77, Craig Cook 4.55 & Connor Mountain 4.38. I agree, Becker was awful for most of the season, Well in with the management though isn't he? So could be a case of playing favourites.1 point

I’m not his biggest fan ,but it scandalous that Madsen did not get a wild card.1 point

That's you're opinion but it would still finish higher than any Lynn team no-one knows how Zischke will perform yet in premiership but he could easily turnout to be prolific1 point

Catching up on Speedway Stars I've missed, don't know if this was mentioned but how was James Pearson able to guest for Jordan Jenkins. Jordan's average was 3.74, but as a foreigner Pearson should be on a minimum 4.00 regardless of his Champ average right? Just as well he didn't score & Sheffield won.1 point

Yes, but look who started it. Says it all really. I have enjoyed watching him at Poole this season, entertaining and edge of your seat whenever he is out. If he ends up with you guys, he'll definitely get a good reception when he comes back down here.1 point

It will be a Poole win this time at Oxford now Killeen isn’t riding.1 point

Probably want to get the play-offs semi finals organised, give them lots of time to publicise it. For commercial reasons obviously1 point

Should be a simple Pirates victory with that long tail for Oxford1 point

Yes both a bit reckless but entertaining when on track Rob senior was the better rider of the two tho imo1 point

Hi all Newcastle speedway fans if anyone is interested in going to Bellevue for the British GP on Saturday June the 14th 2025 I will run a bus & pick up from the home of the Noe defunct diamonds sadly... Brough park at about 10am in the morning so we get to Manchester around about 2pm & gives us plenty time to visit the fan zone etc before the speedway starts & the bus will be leaving about half n hour after the meeting finishes so we get back to Newcastle for roughly 10pm .. just give me a message if anyone would like to go & I'll run a bus no problem1 point

You're forgetting, Arnie, that woke can mean anything the speaker or writer wants it to mean. Usually it just means anything you disagree with.1 point
-
And that's woke is it? I'm not sure i agree with the wildcard choices but describing it as "woke" is ridiculous tbh.1 point
-
More than doubling the attendance i wouldnt say is achievable. Knocking a £5 off it maybe would work if you encouraged people to spend money there/actually promoted the sport1 point
-
the whole season has basically been a dead rubber as the top four have been confirmed for months, might as well just start the season with the play offs in future.1 point

I tend to agree with this complainant. I think the Speedway Star is gradually concentrating more and more on the Continental scene at the expense of British news. I think it's still a decent read but there are increasing parts of the magazine such as the "Polish Scene" and the Grasstrack news, that I never read.1 point
