That is correct he can and he doesn’t do anything wrong but the fact remains he was the one who turned into foord5 points

You need balls ride a bike you need confidence to race it, crashes do make you weary and the longer your career the more that weariness grows but pretty much you are over it when you get your next race win, nobody wants to crash but if this is in your mind especially in your early years of your career then you need to ask yourself should I be doing this ?4 points

I don't meant to be harsh, but it feels like most of you commenting on Ashton Boughen have literally only seen him race at Poole. I've watched him for two seasons now, and shutting the throttle off when people are near him has never been an issue in the past. It's clearly because he has been riding while injured and doesn't want to aggravate said injury, surely? You've only got to look at his recent form to know something is amiss - you don't go from scoring a maximum at Redcar to riding like that at Poole in the space of a month for no reason. I will agree that Ashton is a bit of an enigma. When he's in front he looks like a million dollars, but when he's behind and doesn't fancy it, he cruises around at the back. On occasions he's come from last to first at Oxford, riding the high line and looking sensational - but there is the other side of him where you can clearly hear him shutting off the throttle coming into the bends when in last place. There is absolutely nobody around him when he does this, it's just something he does, and I don't know why. But at the end of the day, he's 17 years of age, this is only his second full season in the sport and he's still learning his way. Give him time, because he's certainly not afraid of other riders around him or mixing it up when needs be. He just needs to learn the best way to do it.4 points

someone has said it was the same part of the straight where masters was turning one could argue that scott was in front and can turn when he likes within reason4 points

It's not just Poole, it's not just speedway. This is a result of giving the sadder individuals amongst us the freedom to spout via social media. In previous eras they would have been moaning alone or in small groups of sad moaners and been ignored by most of society. Today, social media gives them an equal voice.3 points

He has said he wants to ride for King’s Lynn for a full season before he retires though… so you never know2 points
-
The wooly bully at his best. Must've had the widest wingspan in speedway elbow to elbow 🤣2 points
-
Did you see Foord in the first leg at Oxford, or the U19 championship? He's definitely a bit reckless, but has speed. Just needs to learn to tone it down a bit - and more importantly listen to advice from some more senior riders.2 points

Not the owner, just the owners son, who was just enjoying the atmosphere we was creating. he also rides for our club. So really nothing to see here2 points

I've seen 95% of Cheetahs matches this season, all home and nearly all away and he's been doing it all season. The only time he doesn't is when he's in front. It appears worse now as as it's happening more often and more people have noticed and are commenting on it. I'd also be wary of off track issues, this is also not something new. Whether rider mechanics family members or a combination, there does appear to be an attitude somewhere, and seemingly not a positive one.2 points

This Ekstraliga 2 Thursday issue that’s getting a lot of airtime on here isn’t as big as it looks. For example Sheffield started their season middle of March and finished end of September, in that period there was 9 Thursdays unused, pretty sure Polish fixtures will be out well ahead of British ones so surely with big of jiggery pokery the fixtures could easily be accommodated to fit in the 12 TV fixtures from Poland2 points

I’m not making this assumption after 1 meeting I’ve seen it in a few meeting now and im not the only one who is seeing it2 points

I really don't think crowd funding should be used like this. Naive fans are being taken advantage of. If Birmingham want a donation, they should open their books and show what the money is needed for.2 points

A rider lacking confidence does not pin it round the air fence for 4 laps infront of the opposite no1, there is more to it than confidence or age, you can tell by the way he rides the bike he has the ability and the speed and is pretty natural on any bike2 points

Are they going to give the air fence's side of the story as well, so not to be biased?2 points

He did they have a place they could move into tomorrow except they need to wait until a motorway junction nearby is altered before they can get on with planning permission from council. Its a 21 acre site which will be used for multiple sports with Adams and CVS running the speedway and Tai in charge of the rest.2 points

The bottom line is Poole were the best team in the league. They assembled a strong top 4, including three riders with significant potential to improve (and all three did, although Zach seemed to save his best performances for the Brummies). Then they signed 'a second-rate' Dane already regarded as a failure over here that nobody else had the remotest interest in and got points out of him. Then they managed to get far more from Hagon (at least in the first half of the season) and Foord (who has a lower NDL average than Scott or Perry) than could reasonably be expected. Whether it's in spotting who to sign or how they bring out the best in riders once signed Poole have that extra edge. My one reservation would be their lack of interest in grassroots speedway.2 points

Having watched Vinnie Foord crash six times in his last three meetings (and take out two air fences), is he too dangerous? Should there be some sort of speedway exam (like a driving test) riders should take before being allowed to race against other riders? He’s going to cause someone serious harm.1 point

Whilst I admire the owner for pumping money into the club, it is their risk. Going cap in hand to gullible supporters in an attempt to keep the ship afloat is naive to say the least. The bottom line is simply that there is very little interest in the sport in the city and hasn’t been for a number of years. Nobody wants to see any club close, but it’s a business, supply and demand etc. Enthusiasm and passion does not pay bills.1 point

These were racing incidents caused by some very inexperienced riders .These things happen in the sport. We saw senior riders knocking lumps out of each others on the 1st/2nd bend, without coming to grief, that’s the difference. Its a tough sport.1 point

Foord was ahead of Killeen, Scott was ahead of Foord.... but according to Shovlar Foord wasn't responsible for either.1 point

You wonder if he bought the club just to make it easier for his kid to practice whenever he wanted. What he will have paid for the club won’t have put a dent in his net worth. You wonder if when William turns 16 if he doesn’t become the Aces RS after riding for the Colts this season and agreeing to do 2025 also1 point

If I owned a club and there was several hundred away fans at £20+ a head, I’d be celebrating with them to ££££..1 point

Surely with so few meetings, a Championship side could run on a Monday. ? Double uppers could be worked around with Guests if needed... Plenty of meetings will run with them so a few more wouldn't make any difference..1 point

When did Vinnie think Jody was going to turn, he expected him to keep going straight until he got past?1 point

Lets be honest if Peter Schroeck needed to be told / reminded to bring in a high scoring Luke Killeen into heat 12, then he shouldn't be a team manager. If I was the Oxford promotion, I would've sacked him on the spot. Maybe he's good with motivation, ot working with the kids, then fine - let him do that. But keep him away from any tactical decisions.1 point

I don't understand the dumb Paul fans. They cry when i'm on here to get me banned then when i don't come on here the childish name calling starts again. Strange inbred people.1 point

He also tried to come round the outside when on gate 4 in his last ride but Thomsen was already there, when that didnt work he gave up.1 point

What I really don't get is you have Poole Pirates speedway club, well ran, successful and a good model for other teams to aspire to. Yet they have some of the most odious, arrogant, ignorant, snidey, bias supporters on the bsf in the likes of Shovlar, Skidder1, SteveLyric2, Arthur54 to name a few surely with the success the Pirates have had it really would be quite easy to be alot nicer and sporting. This doesn't include the majority like lisa,Catalan and a fair few others. 🪖1 point

The Officer reports are now available on line. Hugely disappointing to note that they have recommended approval of the applications, despite acknowledging that the applications do not comply with parts of the Local Plan. I hope Councilors see through this, and I hope those speaking against the applications can strongly make the points for refusal.1 point

certainly wasn't the racing or passing being talked about, that is for sure....take out the crashes and it was dire in terms of entertainment.1 point

There is a difference between entertaining riders who cross the line sometimes but are in control and riders who are entertaining for all the wrong reasons, mainly being completely out of control.1 point

Hi all Newcastle speedway fans if anyone is interested in going to Bellevue for the British GP on Saturday June the 14th 2025 I will run a bus & pick up from the home of the Noe defunct diamonds sadly... Brough park at about 10am in the morning so we get to Manchester around about 2pm & gives us plenty time to visit the fan zone etc before the speedway starts & the bus will be leaving about half n hour after the meeting finishes so we get back to Newcastle for roughly 10pm .. just give me a message if anyone would like to go & I'll run a bus no problem1 point

In 1964 there only seven teams in the National league ( top league )….. only 2 teams are still going now. The following year the NL and the provincial league combined with 17 teams forming the British League… home and away once with a Ko cuo A vital step made whereby the sport revived itself1 point
