And most are there because it’s their team not because it’s speedway, it’s tribalism and it’s the very foundation of any team sport but the concept is lost on British speedway6 points

My guess is (sorry to repeat previous) that the drainage itself isn't as much the problem. it's more about being able to empty the sub-track tanks if the vehicles required to be filled with and take away water, and those required to do track maintenance, would need to be driven onto and along a track which is still very soft from the huge amount of recent rain. We wouldn't want a speedway match to be run, with riders having to go either side of a marooned lorry partway along the back straight. The way the money was raised to finance the building of Beaumont Park may have been questionnable, but it was fully privately-funded and didn't have the benefit of any provision from public funds. While it's true that the land it occupies is owned by the local council, the stadium also had to be fitted into a tight space, with restricted vehicular access around the perimeter, especially to the north where the perimeter is an industrial estate. Almost every year, work has been carried out over the winter to try to improve the track and drainage. But sometimes you can't overcome the effects of Mother Nature, so this decision is completely reasonable and sensible.6 points

It's only because we had a months worth of rain in 24 hours... there's never been a match cancelled at Leicester because of rubble poking through the track3 points

I think you have a good chance mate, you are better out of the starts and all it takes is for Fricke and Lawson to pop out in heat 1, get something out of heat 2 and you can get on a roll, your top 4 will all be better than at BV, for us we need to get out the starts better and hope our top 4 can take points off Leicester heat leaders as our reserves and Norick could struggle, we have to avoid last places, as you say difficult but certainly doable.2 points

I don't understand that personal comments toward Abi. Comment regarding her professional skills, fine, getting personal, you can do better than that. As others have mentioned, directors will be telling her what guff to come up with, directors came up with the stupid #'s, is she going to say 'no - I'll do it my way' absolutely not, she probably appreciates her job. It's easy to switch off for 2 seconds when she's talking if she's ruining the experience for you.2 points

Yes we are trying to get more water shipped in 😛2 points

Totally disagree Danny to be fair scores the points that you would expect. However it’s not all about that is it? The biggest issue is when the chips are down he either goes missing or makes a novice error with riding lines. The semi final at Leicester being a prime example, on a comfortable 5-1 & then falls. Also can’t team ride to save his life I’ve seen more team riding from Nicholls & Brennan in their witches appearances this season than King has managed in the last 5 years.2 points

100%agree regarding the mechanical knowledge of how the bikes works is big part of being able to make the correct changes on set ups. Many of the young Brits do not have that IMO.2 points

Quite. Yes, I served my apprenticeship at the factory at the bottom of Sterte Avenue. Our carpark was at the waters edge back then, with the slipway outside the gate by the sea cadets.1 point

Only way I see Brennan potentially at Ipswich is if it's a 40 point limit. 1. Doyle 9.36 2. Rew 5.67 / Ellis 5.47 3. Brennan 6.52 4. King 6.14 5. Sayfutdinov 9.12 6. D. Thompson 3.11 7. (RS) = 39.92 or 39.721 point

Not ever but you can’t compare Sheffield to Ipswich …. Ok let’s say Doyle and Tai are comparable … you lost Jack for 2 meetings middle of the season when secure in top 4…. We lost Emil for the business end We had Ellis King and Dan Thompson all out injured and all riding with their injuries We when lost Jenkins when he was in form and again at the business end when it’s important Even Rew had one nasty smash at end of the season So no Sheffield has nowhere near the same issues as Ipswich ….. most true fans know Ipswich were unlucky this year but that’s speedway and I’m sure with a full 1-7 we would have seen off Leicester and Sheffield although we would have struggled against Belle Vue as they always thrash us up there!!1 point

They will have the track prepared no doubt, but we are sweating on the weather late afternoon/evening. All they can do is prepare it and pack it down tight. Sadly they are on a win win situation, if it gets called off, they sadly will get the second leg, unless Matt and Dan say no . So make of that what you will ! What you laughing for Tyretrax1 point

You know mate sometimes even through disappointment you just have to give the opposition credit and hope your own side turn it around. I think Leicester have every chance, Fricke will treble his score from Monday at least, Masters, Becker, and Douglas will be better, Leicester are better out the starts whats the betting Fricke and Lawson jump out in heat 1 and give you a good start? A follow up in heat 2 and its game on. I think the travesty this season is how Ipswich were robbed of half their team. If you didnt enjoy those mentioned races last night maybe speedways not for you? Ive no doubt if your lads had carried out those passes you would have viewed it as a good meeting? Anyway all to play for, im not counting any chickens and if Leicester turn it round i will be gutted but will be on here offering my congratulations.1 point
