The double pass by Blodorn within five seconds of each not exciting? The NKI changing lines pass of Becker not exciting? Bewley roaring around the boards passing several riders not exciting? You must have extremely high expectations ....6 points

They will have the track prepared no doubt, but we are sweating on the weather late afternoon/evening. All they can do is prepare it and pack it down tight. Sadly they are on a win win situation, if it gets called off, they sadly will get the second leg, unless Matt and Dan say no . So make of that what you will ! What you laughing for Tyretrax4 points

You know mate sometimes even through disappointment you just have to give the opposition credit and hope your own side turn it around. I think Leicester have every chance, Fricke will treble his score from Monday at least, Masters, Becker, and Douglas will be better, Leicester are better out the starts whats the betting Fricke and Lawson jump out in heat 1 and give you a good start? A follow up in heat 2 and its game on. I think the travesty this season is how Ipswich were robbed of half their team. If you didnt enjoy those mentioned races last night maybe speedways not for you? Ive no doubt if your lads had carried out those passes you would have viewed it as a good meeting? Anyway all to play for, im not counting any chickens and if Leicester turn it round i will be gutted but will be on here offering my congratulations.4 points

I would say Sept is summer as I just said September has been better and drier than most of the other months in recent years..I would say Sept is a much month than April for example.3 points

King would look good in a Stars race suit next season. If we have any ambition to finally win the league we need to move him on. If Brennan replaces king which I think we all hope & we can hold on to Rew those two guys have massive potential to improve next year.3 points

Will be attending both legs. I just hope Oxford don't do their normal trick of calling it off when they have people in the stadium.3 points

As I neutral I enjoy it .in terms of passing etc it was above a ave meeting . I thought it was very entertaining3 points

A travesty for speedway? Mate I think you're clutching at straws with that one, not one fall all meeting, a decent amount of passing, reasonable times throughout. I understand you being gutted at the result but that was nothing to do with the condition of the track, it was down to your team not wanting to know, for me the only Lions rider to come out of it with any credit was Sam Hagon, he was prepared to give a good go and deserved every point he got. Fricke, Masters and Becker were poor imo. Belle Vue track staff deserve a lot of praise for ensuring the meeting went ahead as scheduled, it wasn't a quagmire by any stretch of imagination, Bewley & Kurtz proved you could venture out wide and prosper, Leicester's top liners just weren't prepared to give it a go. One hand on the trophy but still all to play for on Thursday, here's hoping the track can deliver a decent meeting.3 points

So all things considered....all the so called speedway experts on here before tapes up said the track would be a great leveller and it was advantage Leicester....the track was in great nick and the track staff deserve some credit for preparing a decent track, some clubs would of served an absolute ploughed field. Belle Vue wanted it that lot more and its a huge advantage to take to Leicester...always great to watch a top English rider being the best on show, and by quite a distance. Well done the Aces for preparing a decent track and also for the performance on it.3 points

Sorry, doesn't make much sense... If they were in front and were passed then they didn't "bugger off" did they? The fact of the matter was, when the Lions gated, the Aces chased and tried to pass, often doing so. When a BV rider gated, the Lions showed no attitude to chase. That track was very much raceable all night. As for Fricke and Masters "refusing to ride heat 15"... Where has this come from? Any evidence? Don't think either would have been picked anyway! Douglas was a defo pick. Fricke had been awful, only got his 4+1 because Kurtz lifted after outgating him in heat 1.3 points

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Lambert Maybe the local lad Daniel Lambert, he would be difficult to pass if he gated 🤣3 points

A neutral's perspective, watching on TV. There were still plenty of exciting races and good moves to make it enjoyable. Hagon and NKI didn't seem overly bothered by the conditions and watching Bewley, Kurtz, Lidsey and even Blodorn using track craft to position themselves in the right position on the track to pass riders made it an enjoyable watch still3 points

Get rid of Basso and Klindt and have Tungate and Lawson and then it’s a competitive team - especially at home. Should win every home meeting and nick a few bonuses 1. Tungate - 7.71 2. Iversen - 6.83 3. B Cook - 6.99 4. Kvech- 6.58 5. Lawson - 6.91 6. Rowe - 3.91 Total - 38.932 points

Agree, Ben Cook is a number in Buster's phonebook who's happy to ride for his clubs (Panthers 23 and Guest bookings for KL this season) Lidsey or B. Cook has to go from BV because Kurtz and Bewley won't, Lidsey holds a lot of value in his average as proven by his points scoring in the play-offs after reverting back to old equipment so it'll be stupid to let another club benefit from it so I think it's odds on that Ben Cook will be at KL.2 points

Not ever but you can’t compare Sheffield to Ipswich …. Ok let’s say Doyle and Tai are comparable … you lost Jack for 2 meetings middle of the season when secure in top 4…. We lost Emil for the business end We had Ellis King and Dan Thompson all out injured and all riding with their injuries We when lost Jenkins when he was in form and again at the business end when it’s important Even Rew had one nasty smash at end of the season So no Sheffield has nowhere near the same issues as Ipswich ….. most true fans know Ipswich were unlucky this year but that’s speedway and I’m sure with a full 1-7 we would have seen off Leicester and Sheffield although we would have struggled against Belle Vue as they always thrash us up there!!2 points
-
Think Ben Cook will be the only new face in the 1-5 as BV would be silly not to retain Lidsey on a low average.2 points
-
Well, you need a heat winner to get a heat advantage! BV had 13, so were unlikely to lose. You could see Leicester settling for 3-3s in at least a couple of races, e.g. when Hagon got into second place - now the trick for BV at Leicester is to do similar, i.e. avoid last places.2 points
-
Just like in 2023 this tie isnt over after the first leg, however at only 8 down with 3 to go Leicester would have been very happy - last 3 heats were a disaster for them! Get a couple fo 5-1s in the first 3-4 heats and its all to play for on Thursday! If i wasnt going to Devon on holiday the next day id be very tempted to make the trip for this!2 points

It should be the refs business to confirm eligibility full stop, not just some aspects of eligibility. However the issue here was Scunny didn't declare Kemp as a guest, they declared Toft as riding and only slipped Kemp in at the last moment.2 points

I’m guessing the other offer Rew has is from Belle Vue. Personally I can’t see how that would benefit him already rides big fast tracks in Poland, staying put at Ipswich can only help his progress.2 points

For what its worth, referee (Mick Bates) signed Ben Cook out of the meeting with "head injury, concussion" which carries the regulation nine-day lay-off. The referee also reported that a re-examination/re-assessment was required at the end of that period, prior to Ben being allowed to resume racing activity.2 points

Not sure if its already been said...but 'Hagon' embarrassed both Fricke and Masters !!2 points
-
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Some great passing, boys with the biggest set that were willing to mix it got their reward. Fricke, Becker and Masters were terrible, Kerr a poor choice for me. Hagon and Douglas rode well and Lawson was Lawson around BV. Brady could be on for some season, won the league in Poland, final in Sweden tonight and one hand on the cup in the UK. Then the GP Challenge next weekend.2 points

You can't win the play offs if your number one goes missing, it's that simple...2 points

How many meeting at Leicester have been better this season and can I view them on the Lions Tv page?2 points

I see your point....but there was more 'passing'- ('exciting riding') in the last 7 Heats (when it was at its wettest) than in all 30 Heats of the semi-final between Leicester/Ipswich.... Speaking from a neutral, whose not seen much excitement this season! 😃2 points

Just watched it on YT... Some cracking racing... Bllodorn third to first... NKI's move on Becker.. Bewley and Kurtz going either side of riders for fun.. And Sam Hagon showing one or two of his more experienced team mates how to ride the NSS.. Not many tracks in perfect condition would bring up racing that good tonight...2 points

There’s literally zero chance of Jack being dropped, I think Tai will end up at Oxford2 points

Exactly right Riding at number 2 you wouldn’t expect him to beat his partner in 3 of his races and he is up against opposition heat leaders in those so maybe 3 points is the norm in those though he might beat the opposition heat leader and he might get beat by the number 6 …. So some weeks 4 points some weeks 7 … a solid number two rider Blodorn Riss Thompson Lampart Basso Lawson Howarth …. Are the riders who have been riding at two mainly and he is on a par with most of those …. Don’t forget the Sheffield team is top heavy with 4 heat leaders pretty much so the 5th rider will be weaker then say Leicester who have built strength in depth …. People too quick to judge Howarth …… I see the same at my club with fans thinking Danny King should be getting 10 points a meeting …. Our third heat leader will be weaker with Jason and Emil using a lot of points up …. King will get 7-8 most meetings and that’s his job but since we lost the top two some fans think he should have stepped up…. He’s 38 not going to get better but didn’t deserve the stick he got …… that said Brennan for King is a no brainer next season2 points

No reason to pick on Abi She has an earpiece with her producer telling her what to do so she has to comply When the Sheffield boys were upset she initially said she was leaving them alone and then was obviously told to try and talk to them I think Abi is fine I think some people just look for an issue doesn’t matter who is presenting the would find flaw Scott and Chris are fine but kelvin does get flustered easily …. With 2 heats to go he said Sheffield need to get two 5-1’s …. Then within a minute said a 4-2 may well do … it’s basic maths to be 8 down with 2 to go to know what’s required2 points

There's a lot of miserable b'stards on here😃. I'm just glad to be able to watch it on TV as I would never attend that many meetings. Eurosport put the money in (I'm sure the BSP are glad they did) and the presenters do a great job - I can forgive the odd mistake, life's too short.2 points

Let's be fair here, it's not at all Abi's fault. She's just doing her job. The nonsense chat is usually requested from directors through an earpiece. Man or women, it's irrelevant. Even Tatum & Louis (whomever is partnered with Kelv) chat absolute s#!+e most weeks. The discovery team as a whole has no idea what the watching viewers want to hear or see. Camera work, commentators, trackside presenters, the lot is absolutely dreadful. Terrible to just out the Lass, just doing as she's told.2 points

He may not improve his average any but you know exactly what you're going to get with him, he's been as solid a rider as I can ever remember seeing and the inconsistency really has been Leicester's weakness this season. Surely he has to be the first name on the team sheet.1 point

Should leave it at 40 and maybe have an average for the top 3 that you cannot go over. 25? Leaving 15 for the other three, plus the RS..? Maybe that would share the HL's around a bit more fairly? Which is probably the one major difference between those with success and those without..1 point

As a Lions fans it was a disappointment in the end. I think up to when the rain came we battled and kept ourselves in it. Soon as the rain hit that's when pretty much looked second best and couldn't get near the Aces. It's such a shame the rain spoilt it because I think the score would have been a little less making it finely poised for the second leg. Either way we've still had a great season and I'm a proud lions supporter. I'm sorry thought guys but the tie is over, the only way Leicester stand a chance is if the rain stays away and the track is completely dry. Only Leicester fans understand how bad we are on a damp track. So unless it's dry I don't see us getting anywhere near the aces. It does feel like abit of a anti climax really but well done to the aces. I have no issue with them winning the play offs, fans I've spoken to have always been friendly so if it wasn't Leicester winning then I'm fine with Belle Vue. Il be watching the second leg at home cheering on the boys. I never go Eurosport meetings just to save money. I've shown appreciation attending all the other meetings. Been a great season. No longer the wipping boys, but a far more respectable club putting together decent sides and promoting the youth.1 point

Men just don't like women being involved in "their sport". It's as simple as that. No matter which way you look at it, it's sexism. Of course, there are bad female pundits but there's so absolute 🤡 male pundits too that have even 'Played the Game'. It's across ever male dominated sport1 point
