To a certain extent I do agree Dean.. However . In such a tiny global sport, if I could guarantee circa £500k a year (and maybe more), riding in Poland, Sweden and the UK, for ten years or more, and never see my name as the World Champ... I am not sure I would be fussed . Edit.. If Dan became World Champ, he would arrive at the NSS on a Monday night with barely 1800 there to celebrate with him... If Robert became World Champ, he wouldn't even have a UK track to celebrate at..4 points

Commiserations to the Comets. They have been a credit to the sport this season. Injuries certainly haven't helped them especially losing Tate early on in the year. I hope to see us lock horns next season and I definitely will be Coming up to the Gt Tyres arena at Northside next season. Well done to the Pirates.4 points

Terrible referring decision, Starke was clearly still under power! Roynon is talking cr@p4 points

Think the points scoring system needs a complete rethink .IMO everypoint should count with a number extra points for semi and final. You should not score 15 in the meeting and get 10 pts for it.3 points

Congratulations to lambert, hopefully the monkey is off his back now, well deserved and congratulations to zmarzlik I don’t buy into the opposition being rubbish, yes the Russians would be a challenge but neither are as consistent as zmarzlik is3 points

Whole GP series is an embarrassment to Speedway. Crap tracks and woke politics has destroyed our top competition.3 points

Just read the programme notes and it's sad reading regarding the crowds. Hope Comets are back in the Championship next season.3 points

If we get a few poole fans up the hot air that comes from there mouths should dry the track out 🤣3 points

dont worry , the background radiation will soon dry up the track . only need 53 points . how hard can that be ?3 points

Scorpions next year have to go back to the drawing board Lambert's a guarantee as he's part of the furniture you'd probably say Allen is worth his place and Harrison definitely but other then that start from Scratch, Palm Toft, Howarth, Mountain and Ablitt have reached their level and won't improve anymore.3 points

The ref most definitely did steel the show, with her complete lack of professionalism.3 points

Maybe they should do a "Guest Of The Week" feature.. Covering all the riders who score points for other teams apart from their own..? That would fill a few pages for the UK coverage... Personally, it is still excellent value for money and a superb window into the sport for anyone outside looking in.. They truly do make a silk purse out of a sows ear at times..3 points

They could get to a final with as little as 9 race points and walk away with 20! Crazy!! Current system also means a rider can coast through a GP and just turn it on at the end. We've gone from the most ruthless knock out system, which personally was my favourite, to cumulative points, which was probably fairer and still allowed for a bad ride here and there to this current system which makes no sense for a heat system with semis and a final2 points
-
Cumulative race points... simples, everybody knows what's going on at all times. I know what you're going to say the winning GP rider may not get the most points, that never really bothered me in the grand scheme of things. But for those that it does just award 21 race points for winning a GP and race points for everybody else. Bottom line is it MUST be understandable to the general viewing public2 points

It will be a disgrace If they stick Artem Laguta - a man who never lost his title - in the qualifiers.2 points

Well done to Rob & Bartek... but Zmarzlik is undoubtedly a class rider and easily the best of his generation, he could afford to miss Vojens last year and use Cardiff as a test session this year and still win with a round to spare. He was basically gifted the 2020 world title has had his 2 major rivals removed from the series and further still won this year's with the weakest line up for quite some time. I think there's quite a bit in what others have said about the money available in Poland devaluing the SGP series. You can only beat what's put in front of you though, so fair play to him.2 points

Bartosz is just too consistent and has it all worked out during the qualifiers. Great Champion and well deserved 5th win.Politics means it’s not always the Top 16 in Gp.But is no different from previous one off Finals when inferior continental riders got slots without meeting Brits who probably better.2 points

Shocking track with such an advantage to the inside gates and no passing. Warner Brothers must be desperate to get an English Grand Prix at Belle Vue to get some entertainment.2 points

I was questioning the use of the word woke, only certain people with a certain view of the works tend to use that word. It’s a shame for both riders, but it’s more of a shame for innocent Ukrainian civilians killed by Russians.2 points

I agree.. But, the days of being World Champion and getting you "made for life" are long gone.. I am, sadly, old enough to remember the mid 70's when winning the World Title was quoted by Dave Lanning as "guaranteeing" you £250k as a minimum the following year. In 1978 PC got a months ban for arriving back late for the start of the season due a flight issue in the US, and, in his book, he said that the month cost him over £20k 😯 in lost earnings here and in Germany riding long track on a Sunday... Poland pay you the "life changing" money these days, not the World Championships..2 points

Lads now earn "hundreds of thousands" in Poland.. Maybe "self preservation" is now a larger priority than putting everything on the line to win a World Title? You win one World Title you earn "x".. You ride ten years at the top in Poland and earn many, many times more..2 points

Should be mandatory these events they used to be the pinnacle years ago. Riders used to be full of pride riding in it. Now it’s just a joke.2 points

I have said it before and I will say it here. More than once I have thought that most riders are happy to let BZ get on with it and that they are content to follow in his train. In other words if is seen to make the supreme effort then people might not notice if we don't. And just after I wrote the above Chris Louis almost said as much with 'it looks as if Freddie has thrown the towel in'. Precisely my point.2 points

It's only a matter of time. He's the best, but still soured with no Sayfutdinov and Laguta2 points

On his day was a fairly quick rider but his EFs were Bizzare, he would just stop half way through a race and come back in pits and speak to his dad for a bit and then go out and win his next ride without finding a fault in his bike? I can remember trying to speak to him about an EF and he just said “I’ve sorted it “ and sure enough he would do four laps, it was always a worry to put him in a last heat decider as you never knew if a EF was mysteriously going to occur, he stopped in so many races, I alway thought he wasn’t quite right in his head, maybe that’s a bit of a harsh thing to say but he wasn’t having bike issues when he stopped2 points

Really impressed with young Vinnie today. I seen him at Workington last season in the NDL and he’s come on leaps and bounds. Couldn’t help but applaud him for his last bend swoop in heat 8. If only some of the comets riders could of shown that fight.2 points

Poor decision... Just because you rear up and straighten, and wipe out an opponent, you no longer get excluded I believe...😁2 points

Well, fair play to Poole. There’s a reason they’re hot favourites. Brennan and Ben Cook are unbelievable, can’t see them 2 back in the championship next season. Comets had a great first season back, after being wrote off by so many at the start of the season to be contesting the spoon. Injuries certainly didn’t help the cause and if Tate was fit, it makes you wonder what could have been. Never mind, onto next season and to see what team the promotion can rattle together given we’ve got time. Roll on 2025.2 points

I just wonder how ipswich would have faired against Sheffield, the team they should have been up against2 points

Congratulations to Poole what a quality team any true non blinkered speedway fan would admit that. So it looks like it will be Oxford in opposition no one can really argue about that I do worry a little about hagon but I’m sure his teammates will help him out, going to be a great final may the best team win.well done today Poole.2 points
